Ubuntu.
cromi — Mon, 05/04/2009 - 18:49Ya this week was uncharacteristic for my system sometimes i get lag but it was just i was dying and i couldnt fix it. I am getting so tired of vista and microsoft wont let me go back to xp that im thinking of just switching to ubuntu, I am just not happy with the way the system works and its a memory hog, its way to effective on my system even though i have almost half of its regular stuff turned off.
Sorry I havn't read most of
Ardea — Tue, 05/05/2009 - 10:51Sorry I haven't read most of the thread... by your spec it looks like you favor direct healing with HT and Nourish. I heard this can be good if you have a ton of haste to support it. Personally I was disappointed with Nourish and found glyphed and talented Regrowth was more HPS and mana efficient.
I do not usually use ht as a
cromi — Tue, 05/05/2009 - 14:52I do not usually use ht as a definite heal only in places where i can. And i do favor nourish over regrowth. Right now im trying to define my playstyle to both direct heals and hots because that is how i will get the most healing done. I looked at the regrowth glyph and it just didn't seem like it would work as well, because once i get my heals off with regrowth then as an hot. But when i did the math regrowth looks really good and combined with nourish it makes it a more mana efficient because my nourish is a very short, and is cut down on mana by about 10%, and regrowth acting as an hot works with that because it puts out more for my nourish glyph.
4-25 EP1 Recap
Torvo — Sat, 04/25/2009 - 17:20This makes what... 3 weeks in a row? Glad to have you again. Here's the partial parses: http://wowwebstats.com/ujdfp6zbuajfw.
Just to clarify i've been on
cromi — Mon, 04/27/2009 - 23:36Just to clarify i've been on the website. Just not on my app, which in hindsight seems kind of stupid. Thanks a ton for the wowwebstats. I cant think of any better way to improve my raiding. It sticks that info in front of me so i can see where i am having my issues at and where i am just slacking. I will take a second look at that again and see which boss i will need to work on for next week.
Bump
Torvo — Mon, 04/13/2009 - 14:11What's up man, no activity on the app in like a month!? Really enjoyed having you in Naxx25!!1 last weekend. Hope you can continue to run with us -- you were throwing up some solid heals.
Was good to have you again this week
Torvo — Mon, 04/20/2009 - 16:02It looks on Wowarmory like you don't have enchants on a lot of your gear. Get them... Even if it's not the expensive top of the line enchants, you can get the following pretty easily (not entirely sure how to play a resto Druid, so I'm giving some options)
-Back: Darkglow/Lightweave Embroidery (if you OOM a lot, get the +300 mp one, otherwise spellpower - both leatherworking)
-Chest: Greater Mana Resto (+8 mp5), Super Stats (+8 to all)
-Bracers: Fur Lining - Spellpower (+67sp - leatherworking)
-Gloves: Exceptional Spellpower (+28sp)
-Boots: Greater Vitality (+6mp5, +6hp5), Greater Spirit (+18)
Let me know if you need someone to hook you up with the enchants.
Hope to see you again on Saturday!
Your sheer amount of activity
garreth — Mon, 03/16/2009 - 21:37Your sheer amount of activity on this application gives me hope for you. Please join /dfrecruit and catch me in game. I'd like to throw you at our 10 an 5 man runs to start. Look for Garreth.
aww..so misleading
Kerilyn — Mon, 03/16/2009 - 19:42and here i thought you used Grid before you apped to DF. :( sadness, BUT HAPPY DAYS at least you have it now and appreciate its services!
Hello James Bond.... it seems you have.... met my assiociate...
cromi — Mon, 03/16/2009 - 20:01I don't understand what you mean by sadness after that misleading. But I like you cat in the picture. I'm hoping for a job when i get older(well first choice is supervillain), my second choice though is to be in some sort of position of leadership, get a cat, and position a large leather chair behind the desk. Then i plan to pet the cat like I am a supervillain in a deranged way from a James Bond villain. It would just make my job worth going to work every day.

jaibyrd — Tue, 04/14/2009 - 09:27yes but can you crook your little finger just so? and put it near your lower lip? hmm? practise practise practise...and meanwhile how's the grid now?

cromi — Mon, 04/27/2009 - 23:40sorry to reply so late. The grid is working great and the best part about that is ive broken both my pinkys before, if you havent broken them its pretty brutal, having broken most of the major bones in the body it hurts about 50% more than some of the others, especially when you dislocate it. But before i got sidetracked my pinkys automatically kind of do there own thing so when im drinking a glass i look extra fancy and im tailor made for that roll.

grid + clique
moriella — Mon, 03/16/2009 - 17:57Grid is soo much better than healbot, esp once you get it configured how you like it.
I personally use grid + clique. If you have a mouse with 6+ buttons you might look into it
I just found this lil video of a druid showing grid+clique
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zr5Tm5gDpjA&feature=related
clique
cromi — Mon, 03/16/2009 - 18:50It looks awesome I don't usually have any problems with casting heals with a keyboard but I love the abolish poison on it because it always seems no one decides on whose going to do it until it actually happens. makes life much easier to just click it off.
clique cont
moriella — Mon, 03/16/2009 - 19:02You can set clique to whatever spells you want, it's not limited to abolish and nothing is hard coded. You can just keybind casts to any combination of + which gives you about 15 possible casts on a 6 button mouse. I dont use left button for anything as too many game mechanins need it.
You just put your mouse pointer over the characters box on grid and press the corresponding mouse button for the spell you want to cast. No need to select the character or anything.
clique cont...cont...
cromi — Mon, 03/16/2009 - 19:29I understood that what i was thinking is that ill probably end up using it for my abolish and remove curse because i prefer to use my keys for my healing spells.
Would like to see some more
garreth — Mon, 03/16/2009 - 09:47Would like to see some more healing-centric addons. Grid baby. Grid.
addons.
cromi — Mon, 03/16/2009 - 16:00I grabbed grid and it works really well. Thanks for telling me that. I'm trying to find a good healing addon that i like and doesnt suck. I tried out healbot and I didn't like it much, healing using just your mouse and clicks takes away from the game for me.
Nice kid, helped ryu,a friend
Felsteel — Mon, 03/16/2009 - 08:43Nice kid, helped ryu,a friend of mine and i gank some horde in southshore for about an hour then decided to just go do AQ20 just for the hell of it. Ryu(in pvp spec and cheap pvp blues) tanked, my irl friend who is a scrub DK in blues and greens, and he kept us all alive even when we pulled the first boss and about 4 bug packs at the same time.
Had a good attitude at all times and I think would make a good addition to our healing roster with a lil guidance from our vets. What stands out to me is that this was all a random meeting in southshore and he stuck with it all the way, didn't QQ, and was looking for a challenge while we done the run. Thumbs up from me. :D
P.S. GET GRID
Resto goodness!
starstalker — Sat, 03/14/2009 - 16:51Who the hell rerolls a resto druid from a hunter? I mean really...
/sarcasm
Anyways, I wasn't able to get the (provided) link to your spec working, so I went to look it up over at the armory. Here are my thoughts:
1) Rather than tell you why [Improved Tranquility] is so bad, I'd love to hear you defend why you picked it up.
2) You passed up [Living Seed], so you obviously don't think you use regrowth or nourish, but then why did you take Nature's Grace?
3) No Enchant on Bracers, Gloves, Chest, or Weapon (according to armory, which granted could be wrong), and mount speed increase on your boots. Why?
4) You're geared with a lot of mp5, which I can't necessarily fault you for because not everyone can get choice items to drop, but on your 2 items with yellow sockets, you've chosen to go with straight Int gems. Why?
I look forward to seeing your reponses!
response.
cromi — Sun, 03/15/2009 - 18:04Sorry to get back to you so late, I had a family emergency and did not have a computer or internet access.
I picked up the tranquility because i was pugging raids and to have that CD drop to 4 minutes was a huge plus for keeping some raids alive. I can use it without having to worry about whether i am going to have to use it again in the next fight and having that on faster just is an extra lifeline. So like in Gluth, his decimate i can't always rely on other healers to heal that other tank up and the kiters to stay alive so i throw up a tranquil and make sure they stay alive. But i might need that same tranquil less than 10 minutes later when take on Thadius because some smart person(sarcasm), runs into the negative group with positive charge and I am to far away from that group to effectively heal them so i need to use my tranquil.
I have begun to really like nourish and regrowth but i did not pick up the living seed because i did not think it was worth it at the time at least. Many times i'm in raid I am filling both the raid heals role because i have instant spells that don't take cast time, that also hot the person so unless they grab agro i don't have to worry. but living seed did not seem worth that unless it was the tank, in my last naxxramas run though i think i might be taking another look on how useful that spell will be.
Truth is i'm a cheap bastard. the mount speed increase on the boots was given to me by a guild mate and I am just to cheap to put that enchant on an item that I am currently looking, at least hoping to replace, in my next run.
The real weakness of my gear is intellect, and since yellow gems you have a choice of three things for healers. Critical strike, haste rating, and intellect. Critical strike is nice but its not as important to me as intellect at the moment because i need more intellect. I'm a druid so haste rating helps 2 of the spells that i use and that is only when i'm healing in situations. Intellect seemed the best fit to the gear given to me because thats what i rely on to cast spells.
Aside from the wall of text,
starstalker — Sun, 03/15/2009 - 19:56Aside from the wall of text, good response. There wasn't a wrong answer, just seeing what your opinion was.
As for there being only a yellow gem choice for a yellow, are you aware you can use a hybrid gem? For instance, you can use a [Luminous Monarch Topaz], and it will work in a yellow socket? As an orange gem, it can also be used in a red socket. Anyways, I only mention this because spell power provides a much bigger boost to your healing ability than straight int does.
Overlooking the obvious.
cromi — Sun, 03/15/2009 - 20:57Actually i did not think to go out of the box and get a hybrid gem. I think because it was probably the easiest way to get a better upgrade that for some reason I missed that.
thanks mate.
cromi — Mon, 03/16/2009 - 09:11Thank you, star for that advice i changed that today and it gave me a better upgrade than i was expecting. especially when you get you gear up to epics and its hard to find an extra kick so you have to make those little ones to get your spell power up higher.
Star, just a quick comment I
Ardea — Mon, 03/16/2009 - 09:32Star, just a quick comment I passed up living seed because it accounts for .01% of my healing and I spam the hell out of Regrowth... and nourish is kind of a waste.
Thats why I said there is no
starstalker — Mon, 03/16/2009 - 12:14Thats why I said there is no wrong answer. Druids (as you know) can heal primarily with hots or primarily with casts (like regrowth/nourish/healing touch (blegh)), its a matter of choice. My question was why take a talent that reduces cast time if the person only uses hots? Just a question, and I was interested in the answer, not whether it fit into my personal style.
Someone who can back up their choices with a good answer is better than someone who took a spec "becuz it loked kewl", wins in my book.
The lameness of tree form to the awesomeness of boomkin.
cromi — Mon, 03/16/2009 - 17:14I totally took resto because it looked "kewl"(sarcasm), I think that if anyone ever chooses any druid spec because it looks cool would have to be moonkin, half the people leveling druids seem to switch to it after 40 even though its a slower way to level up from, than feral. Tree form gets a necklace, moonkin gets a weapon. Tree form gets a dance, moonkin gets a slightly better dance.
