Her priest was named Tacocat

Grasen — Tue, 03/24/2009 - 14:31

Her priest was named Tacocat pre name change and the rogue was named Crinkalink.

After talking with several members of serenity we do not feel you would be a good fit with us here in Downfall. If you cant make it in serenity then you will not make it here. Thank you for your time and good luck on Gorgonnash.

names?

moriella — Tue, 03/24/2009 - 14:38

she told me in irc chat she had the same name on her old guild on her old server. She said she was a member there for two weeks. I went on the server to find only one level 80 on, but he was nice enough to talk to me. He was unable to remember her name, but she did correctly give me the name of the raid leader DK in the guild who was the reason for her leaving. He was confirmed to have run off many ppl, by the person whom I spoke with.

Now, I am totally confused. I was willing to accept the explanation that she didnt express herself well but could play.

Where is the truth here?

I left serenity because i told them i wanted to be in a more serious pve guild....

moriella's picture

one last question , then I will be satisfied

moriella — Tue, 03/24/2009 - 12:33

you stated on your app that you *cant wait to get into uluduar, I know all the fights allready*, Have you been playing on the test servers, and testing the bosses?

Acisse's picture

yes

Acisse — Tue, 03/24/2009 - 12:37

My friend Taalon - NE rogue in downfall told me about all the fights, i have been on the test realm and raided with some guild on Illidan because they needed a healer, we only got to do yogg saron. But every time we wiped it took 30 minutes to reform thanks to the lagg issues. i spend all day on MMO champion and sites like that.

Acisse's picture

Sorry.

Acisse — Tue, 03/24/2009 - 12:54

Not yogg saron, i was thinking of last boss, the boss where you drive around in vehicles and kill the first one, sorry miss type.

moriella's picture

you got some 'splaining to do acisse

moriella — Tue, 03/24/2009 - 13:03

I'm afraid you have said too many things that are totally contradictory and I'm gonna have to call you on them.

  • you claim you tested yogg saron on the test server.  He's NOT been tested
  • there is no Taalon in DF, he's in Rawrgrrgggl
  • when I asked you how your healing style was going to change for 3.1 you really had no idea, despite the big changes coming.
  • You said you were going to spec 20 points into disc to 'get the 160 spirit'.  IF you have EVER logged into test realm, your talent tree would have been wiped and you would have realized there is no IMP DIVINE SPIRIT in 3.1, and it never, ever gave more than 80 points of spirit since pre BC.  (previously gave a % then changed to a flat)
  • yet, you claim to read mmo champ and the like 'all the time'

you claim to know 'all the uluduar fights', but your statements dont back that up.  IF you had been testing, you would KNOW the changes to the priest class.  IF you read wow articles, you would have known the priest changes.  IF you read wow articles you would have known Yogg Saron hadnt been tested

You have only been on this server a short time.  Care to share your guild/realm history with us?  I find it hard to believe that a twilight vanquisher priest shows so little interest in his upcoming class changes.  With all the contradictions that you've given me, I'm having serious doubts about how much actual PRIEST or even WOW experience you have.

Too many things just dont add up.  I would gladly help train a priest who wanted to learn his or her class.  I'm not so interested in someone who wants to come in and BS his way thru the process of applying

Comments from other DF members pls

Acisse's picture

sorry

Acisse — Tue, 03/24/2009 - 13:09

Yeah i had 2 big misstypes, i know taalon is in Rawgrlglrlgll. i explained i didnt mean yogg saron. in 3.1 im not really going to change my strat because i do all that already..... It will just be better.

moriella's picture

ok, throw your mistypes out

moriella — Tue, 03/24/2009 - 13:14

if we threw those two out, the evidence is still solid. My case isnt built on those two pieces.

again, I'd like to have some realm/guild history to further consider this application

guild history

Acisse — Tue, 03/24/2009 - 13:18

I was on alleria with my priest in a guild called <Fierce> and i left thanks to guild drama / change in leadership. i have been in that guild since i was a lvl 80 priest.

moriella's picture

in a guid called....

moriella — Tue, 03/24/2009 - 13:22

you seem to have left the guild name out?

This site treats "<" and ">"

garreth — Tue, 03/24/2009 - 14:10

This site treats "<" and ">" symbols as HTML tags. She was in a guild called "Fierce".

Fixed it for her.

saedo — Tue, 03/24/2009 - 14:14

Fixed it for her.

Anyways, so what's up with that? The text editor won't show up sometimes so the site treats text as html. But sometimes it does show up, which allows all the fancy shit.

moriella — Tue, 03/24/2009 - 14:17

Acisse and I have been in chat for a while now. I'm gonna support this one now. She gets rattled easily when talking to ppl, but says controlling her character is totally different. I also checked with the last server she was on, and was able to confirm several tings. Sorry , I'm suspicious by nature and really want priests to be good, maybe it's my fault to hold them to a higher standard. Now that I've talked to her one on one, I think she might be ok. Just a little shy and socially nervous :) She also says she likes poop jokes

Desteran's picture

We have had our fair share of

Desteran — Tue, 03/24/2009 - 11:38

We have had our fair share of people come in to raid, not get a spot and gquit for a guild they can raid with immediatly (mostly recent startups). Healers aren't a big problem right now but we arent exactly stacking them, with every 25 man raid at this point being a cake walk. That may change with Ulduar and we may have to bring more...so its not all doom and gloom.

Point being....

If you just want to raid asap and don't really care in which guild that is I suggest looking elsewhere. If you want to make yourself available as a fillin and possibly earn a permanent spot in the future (it could be 1 month or 1 year) but in the mean time be part of one of the better WoW communites then we are that guild. From your app, however, it sounds like you are looking for the former.

Speaking on behalf of KB, our healers are very consistant, many of which have had that consistancy since vanilla wow, the rest have been consistant raiders in DF since BC or Wotlk release. We have not had much turnover in the healer department, though as I stated above we may need a couple more come Ulduar.

I dont know what the Sal'mon healer situation is like but raided with many of them in BC and know that those I did raid with are very strong healers.

This is not a 'fly by night' guild. If offered an invite you are expected to earn a spot by being available and playing your class well. You do that long enough and eventually you will have a spot. It just happens more quickly for some than others.

Acisse's picture

Yes

Acisse — Tue, 03/24/2009 - 12:35

I guess in the perspective that you and another down below said, it is the community first and raiding later, I would understand not getting into raids ALL the time, coming in when you need me and what not, and if needed raiding with solmons raid. Yeah i can wait.... even if it takes 3 months. If you give me the chance to get into your guild i will be on for every raid, even if im tolded im not needed, im not the type to badger someone for a raid spot. I would be happy to be a part of the downfall community and help out in any way possible.

Acisse, are you going to stay

jaibyrd — Mon, 03/23/2009 - 21:30

Acisse, are you going to stay in this guild if it takes you 3 months to get to raid with one of the 25 man raids?

moriella's picture

looking forward

moriella — Mon, 03/23/2009 - 11:21

There are ALOT of changes coming for priests in 3.1. Can you discuss some of these changes and tell us how you will change your playstyle and or gear to take advantage of them.

How do you see priests in 3.1 vs 3.0?

Acisse's picture

More group healing

Acisse — Mon, 03/23/2009 - 11:39

CoH is going to be healing for more, so that will be great, and also they are reducing the mana cost on holy nova, that will be great for group healing too. Serendipity – this talent now reduces the cast time of Greater Heal and Prayer of Healing when Binding Heal or Flash Heal are cast. I do not cast greater heal much, but on some uludar fights as i see i will be using it some. I cast flash heal lots when my CoH is down, or if there is only one person taking dmg. Also im thinking of putting 20 points into Disc so i can get the 160+ spirit. My play style will be somewhat different but in all i think ill still CoH spam on cd, flash heal when thats down, and greater heal when my free cast comes up and someone is low. Also i see the divine hymn and hym of hope, i use those anyways so i guess its not really a change for me.

moriella's picture

re: 3.1 and priesting

moriella — Mon, 03/23/2009 - 17:38

Also im thinking of putting 20 points into Disc so i can get the 160+ spirit.

  • Divine Spirit is trainable and baseline in 3.1
  • There is no imp divine spirit anymore
  • The most this buff ever gave the caster was 80 spirit.

CoH is going to be healing for more, so that will be great

CoH is getting a 40% increase to BASE healing only. This doesnt effect spellpower scaling. Net result : about 300-400 more per tick.

3.1 is bringing insane amounts of AoE damage to the raid again on most fights. Serendipity is going to be extremely important to holy priests. Currently, you can use server lag+quartz to get two hasted PoH from one serendipity proc. You can cast both of these in less than 3 seconds total on two different raid groups.

Hymn of Hope and Divine Hymn are VERY different than they were.

example: Hymn of Hope

You recite a Holy hymn, summoning the power of the Divine to assist you in your time of need. Heals 3 nearby lowest-health friendly party or raid targets for 4960-5208 every 2 seconds for 8 seconds, and increases healing done to them by 15% for 8 seconds. Maximum of 12 heals

Now, what this tooltip REALLY means, and how it actually works..... When you channel this spell it will immediately heal the three lowest party members for 11k-16k(crit) EACH. This hymn scales really well with spell power. 11-16k is based on 2500 spell power. After two seconds it will 'jump' and heal three more ppl for the same amount of damage. etc etc - until it has healed 12 ppl in raid. Sounds pretty impressive huh. Well, there's more. WHO is the lowest health party members, and thus who will be healed, is calculated not at the beginning of the spell, but on each 2 second 'proc'. Use of this spell will give you something in the order of 150k EFFECTIVE healing in 8 seconds. Not overheal, but real effective healing. Combine this with another priest in raid, coordinating efforts and popping it together, and we are talking about the most massive healing the game has ever seen.

In 3.1 two healing priests who work well together can PoH four raid groups in less than 3 seconds for massive AoE burst healing and then use HoH when off CD as needed. Priests have been asking to have a defined 'raid role' for some time now, and not to be seen as a 'jack of all trades, master of none'. IMHO, that is coming in 3.1 - Priests are about to become the best in slot Burst Healers both for Raid and Single Traget healing.

Fjork's picture

I know this is a guild-app,

Fjork — Tue, 03/24/2009 - 06:51

I know this is a guild-app, but I have to ask Mor. Does the +15% healing buff stack? For example, if you and ac were to both cast it at once and (randomly) they both struck the same raid member, would that be a +30% increase or would it still sit at 15%? (I'm guessing the latter, but since you've already done the research that means I don't have to. hehe)

moriella's picture

stacking healing buff

moriella — Tue, 03/24/2009 - 07:15

Short answer, I'll have to look into it further

Long answer, because the spell picks its target milliseconds before the heal is applied (just before each 2 second jump) - the odds of both priests spell hitting the same person are minimal in a 25 man situation. Every 2 seconds each priests spell will jump to the three lowest hp targets in raid.

If damage is AoE and massive, I suppose someone could be target #1 for one preist and targeted again by priest #2 a perhaps 5-10 seconds later. A 30% healing buff would be insane, but it may in fact be possible. For instance on a MT who is taking heavy damage might get a tic at the 0 second mark, then again at the 6 second mark. This spell is allready OP as hell, but we all know how blizz makes WIDE buff/nerf swings to classes. The cd on this spell was set at 6 min, it's been nerfed to 10min - still useable at least once per boss fight/per priest in raid.

This, combined with the other buffs to priests is probably going to mean 25s want more than one healing priest again. While the Hymn is useable by disc or holy, the other AoE healing is really geared for deep holy priests. 2 PoH with a serendipity proc(serendipity should be up >80% of the time) in ~3 seconds for a holy priest is insane as well. My PoH does about 8k per person in group x 5. Thats another 80k in healing in 3 seconds. Add a CoH for another 18k, insta cast right after that.

Thru put on Holy Priests is insane for 3.1. I plan on abusing dual spec (disc/holy) for all it's worth on a fight by fight basis
