Improving WoW latency/lag/connection speed

So I've been hearing it come up from time to time about going into the registry and increasing the performance of WOW; however, I'm an idiot to anything of the sort and want some good advisements on what to do and how to do it CORRECTLY. Xendu has been talking about it for awhile and yea, I'm normally below 140ms, but if I figured that if I could make it better, then wtf am I waiting for.
Xendu linked this to me tonight and I've skimmed through it but.... idk, kind of wary about messing with my registry period.

That post was posted at the end of '07, but would like to know if anyone could either just walk me through it or know of something that is safe to download or anything.
Also putting it one the website cause of the recent guildie hack and lack of authenticators and recent ban of anyone using the guild bank that doesn't have one and all that crap, so if somehow i screw up my security or something on my comp, I can blame it on the guildie that recommended me to do this that or whatever. Again, I HAVE NO FREAKING CLUE HOW TO WORK WITH REGISTRY FILES.
I'm currently running Windows Vista Service Pack 1. 64-bit Operating System.

follow the instructions up until 2:30 - this will walk you step by step thru the first of two registry mods that you need to make.
then go here http://www.sendspace.com/file/i3flaz download the file and run it. accept the changes it makes
you are done.
the reason the files you are using dont work is because they were written pre vista sp 1
dont forget to click 'more info' on the you tube video description, it gives you a bit more info - however, ignore the last part of his comment - he made the mistake of linking to the old file that will not work for sp1
This is what I did exactly and it lowered my latency by almost 200ms

You could also navigate to the key within the registry and add/edit it that way if all else fails, but be careful you don't change the wrong thing!
