Tips from a Warlock on Aggro

I've never posted before, so be kind. That said, I could think of few people out there who would appreciate musings such as these so I thought I'd share.
This past Thursday I asked my wife if she thought it would be okay if I blocked off 6 hours on Saturday to participate in Torvo's 25-man !+1 raid on a weekly basis. I thought she'd be wild about the idea. After all, if I stopped raiding during the week, I could pursue family things with more vigor.
Turns out, this generated significant wife aggro. Being a warlock for some time now, I did what I always do when I've gone and pulled aggro...I look for my oh shit button: SoulShatter. (Yep, I told her that after a long week at work and dealing with her and my kid, playing WOW was the only thing that relieved my stress...not a good move in retrospect).
FYI: wives have an interesting mechanic wherein they are not only resistant to SoulShatter but it seems to double the amount of aggro that one has accumulated.
It was after my use of the SoulShatter mechanic that I realized that this boss fight was going to be a wipe.
Thankfully, my wife resets quickly.
(But, just to be safe I did log on my priest and cast a few Mind Soothe spells ... i.e. roses...her way.)

I hear logging on her Hunter
