Skip downfall, join my bank alt guild.
Prime8 — Mon, 05/11/2009 - 09:50My bank alt's guild is Cult of Vitriol. When I started gaming (RTCW back in like 2000) I used that name, but it was taken when I joined Gorg. My bank alts name is Thingvitriol (Thing is like Mr.), and I have a low level horde lock named Vitriol on another server. You should skip downfall. You obviously belong in my cult. :D
Thanks for the feedback everyone!
Vitriola — Mon, 05/11/2009 - 08:02That is a whole lot of warm fuzzies. Thanks for the feedback everyone!
"Going for your Master's I'm assuming?"
Actually, I am writing my doctor's thesis atm. But it is tough with work and wow. :)
As to how I got where I am, I was a sonar tech on a sub in the Navy. I got a degree in electronics then. It was only an associate's so I did not mention it earlier. After the Navy, I worked as a hardware engineer for a while and changed to software. Back then, there was no such thing as a degree in computers so they took those with degrees in music or math because of how our minds work.

ROFL. That is SO true! In short, you can read the particularts here (follow the links): http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?pageId=96916

Dragon — Mon, 05/11/2009 - 08:29Ah ok more remnants of the Patriot Act. I figured that was the case.
I will keep my opinions on the subject silent in this public forum so as not to turn your app into a political discussion. Suffice to say you and anyone else can whisper me ingame on Seraphitalia or Intercepter if you would like to know said feelings.
Oh and in an attempt to keep things lighthearted. The Marine in me is forced to <insert Navy jokes here>

Dragon — Tue, 05/12/2009 - 12:19Oh it's true we are under the Department of the Navy, however we are the MENS department.
Oh and remember that Squids are nothing more than a lower form of Marine life.
ROLMAO!
Vitriola — Wed, 05/13/2009 - 06:51"a lower form of Marine life."
Nice! And submarines even lower.
So, a marine corps general and an admiral are walking around on the deck of a carrier discussing which cadre had men with more guts. After going back and forth for a while, the general looks up into the crow's nest and yells up to a marine private, "HEY PRIVATE". The private yells back, "Yes sir?" The general yells, "JUMP". The private yells back, "YES SIR!", jumps and hits the deck with a resounding thump. The general turns to the admiral and says, "Now *that* is guts!"
The Admiral yells up to the crows nest, "hey seaman". The seaman yells back, "Yes sir?" The Admiral yells, "JUMP". The seaman yells back,"F**K YOU!" The Admiral turns to the general and says, "Now *that* is guts!"
This may be time to quote Bogart's line at the end of Casablanca!

Vitriola — Thu, 05/14/2009 - 15:20I have long wanted to visit Austin. I have a famous cousin that is a writer/director/producer of movies. He was up for but did not win an oscar. He lives there now. When I knew him, he lived in Oregon. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000500/
Do you live an hour north or south of Austin? A weekend's excursion might be in order sometime. (I have forgotten about the Alamo.)

So I have some comments that aren't quite game related. First of all, The 2 degrees you have and trying to wrap them around your job. Props on both btw I just find the current job interesting with those degrees. Going for your Master's I'm assuming?
The second one, if you don't mind me asking. When exactly DID the government classify you as a terrorist. Not that I think you are one, just that it's not something one commonly finds when they are reading a guild app.
Good luck, oh and can I pls have a healthstone :D
What the hell took you so long?
Torvo — Sun, 05/10/2009 - 23:40You've been a valuable part of the EP1 raids since we first started up again. You're dependable, you have a good attitude, and I can count on you to rock the house week in and week out.
As far as your DPS numbers are concerned, I think Garreth's right... You're putting up a good showing, but given the gear that you're rocking I want to see you up closer to 4,000 over the course of the raid, not the 3500 you've been sitting pretty consistently at. If I were to start up an Ulduar 25 tomorrow you'd be ready for it, but that doesn't mean you don't have room for improvement.
Reference Elitist Jerks and make sure you're gemmed/enchanted to optimal for your spec. Use your resources -- we have some very solid locks in guild, including Heavenleighh (her druid's an alt).
All that said, if it were up to me I'd throw you a guild invite right now. We all have room for improvement (except for Blue, who's always going to be a lying sack of crap... I'm still waiting for the gold he promised me if I got him into Downfall), but that doesn't mean you're not kicking ass and taking names.
i just want to say i dont
Kerilyn — Sat, 05/09/2009 - 22:15i just want to say i dont recall hearing Vit bitch and moan about using his warlock abilities in raid. i know we called for him to summon and soulwell several times and not once do i remember hearing a complaint. Kudos!

garreth — Sat, 05/09/2009 - 22:12UI is a plus. Let's see grid up there. I have a lot of respect for you and your job already :) Looking forward to digging through your parses. Need to see some big number out of you, but digging the app so far. Thanks for sticking with it.

bluetouguyss — Sat, 05/09/2009 - 15:53Vit is a great guy. He has been attending EP1! for a few months now and is a great asset. Not only because we always lack warlocks it seems he is usually near the top of the dps charts. I would love to see him in guild.
