If worse comes to worse and
Knoppix (not verified) — Tue, 05/12/2009 - 12:25If worse comes to worse and you cant find anything let me know because that javascript you are inserting will most likely not be registered as any sort of malware but it can direct you to it. If you want I can RDP and use HijackThis on your PC to check for nasties. HijackThis is awesome it is a last restort but for those that don't know how to use it you can really fuck up your PC using it incorrectly.
I fixed a friends PC that could'nt goto any search engine because spyware he removed inserted disallowed sites into the system host file that didnt allow ANY browser to load any search engine page. His PC had 0 nasties and I ran every spyware remover and virus app that is worth a shit on it and came up 100% clean. I was like ok wtf....decided to run HijackThis, booyah showed all the blocked sites in there and all I had to do was select them all and say delete...bam worked like a charm.
HijackThis is basically capable of letting you see any irregularaties on your PC and show you anything that is loaded into the memory of your browsers if you know what you are looking for, just be warned let someone that knows what they are looking at use it for you or I guarantee you will be sorry for deleting things that were not bad.
Here are the malware scanners I recommend they are both free and are both at the top of their game and are widely used by professionals and recommend by the best resources for removing malware on the net:
Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/
SuperAntiSpyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/
HijackThis: http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/hijackthis
For any of you that dont have antivirus I and many others agree that these are the top 2 antivirus solutions you can get, anything else is just subpar:
NOD32: http://www.eset.com/
Kapersky: http://www.kaspersky.com/
I have used these solutions for years and have never had a problem with any sort of malware or virus that wasnt a false positive. False positive meaning that the spyware or virus application recognized something that was not truley a virus or malware and later made a statement that they made a mistake.
Also if you don't have a firewall enabled of any sort and I expect that most of you have routers for fucks sake enable the firewall it can greatly reduce the hackers from getting to your PC even if you do get malware...if you have windows enable that firewall also. As of Windows XP SP3 the firewall is the same as Windows Vista and it is rated very high.
Garreth what is the name of that application you linked me one time that shows things going in and out of your PC and across your network? That it what I used in the past and is very good until I got my $800 firewall solution.
Inspecting your posts it
garreth — Mon, 05/11/2009 - 15:35Inspecting your posts it appears that you're injecting odd javascript that references proxies. I've locked down a lot of the site to prevent this. Run scans on your shit.
