EP1 moves into Ulduar!
Forget Naxx, it's time to party with the big boys. Whether you've been running with us and want to continue progressing through content with us, or you've been disinterested in Naxx but you want to start joining us for Ulduar, we're looking for a solid group of 25 talented and dependable raiders.
We will not progress as quickly as Salmon and Kitten, but we will progress. Given that we look to spend no more than 6 hours a week taking shots (compared to their 9 and 16 hour raid weeks), I want to make sure I establish that mindset now. I'm pitching that we start either a half hour or hour earlier, 11 or 11:30 (with invites still 30 minutes prior), so that we can maximize the time we spend on the content. Let me know in the comments what your preference is... I don't want to alienate anyone who can't be here before 12, so if you can't do earlier, this is your chance to speak up.
Sunday additional shot/mop up sessions may get scheduled on a conditional, week-by-week basis.
Read the Downfall strategy guide. I expect everyone to know the strategies before we even set foot in the raid. If you haven't seen the content yet, there are a lot of opportunities to 10-man it... I strongly recommend you try and get into one before this raid.
This is going to kick some serious ass. I'm looking forward to trashing Yogg with all of you!

To reassure you all: We'll fill with as many guild apps, pugs, or spontaneous guild signups as we need to on Saturday to make this happen. But the more we need to fill with on Saturday, the longer it will take to get started -- so please be patient, and come early if at all possible. Invites will be at 10:30 -- I'll start looking to fill open spots at 11. I want us in the raid as close to 11 as possible so we can maximize our time in the content.
IF YOU CANNOT BE ONLINE BY 11 BUT ARE SIGNING UP, BE VERY CLEAR HERE WHAT YOUR SITUATION IS. "I have to work until 11 and will be home around 11:20, traffic pending" is all I'm asking for. Even "I'm uglier than Dame Edna and need my beauty sleep but I will get up at 11 - might be a few minutes late".
If you sign up, I don't see any time disclaimers here, and 11 rolls around, I will start looking to fill your slot. If you sign up, warn me you'll be late, and I think we'll be able to start before you can be online, I will look to fill your slot -- or we'll start to clear trash without you. This is your warning, and by reading it (or not reading it), you give up any right to QQ if you are in some way negatively impacted by it. Fair? Good. Great. NO YELLING ON THE BUS!

I've said a couple of times that nothing's set, and that if 11 is a problem for anyone I didn't want to make the decision unilaterally and alienate anyone (aka speak up =P)
Having heard nothing in the way of issues with an 11am start time, I'm tentatively moving forward on that timeline... But if it's an issue for you (or anyone else) to be online an hour earlier, now's a good time to say something!
A reminder about EP1's origins

Now several of our core have gotten guild invites and *ahem* been stolen by the weeknight raids. Thieving pirate bastards - I hope you all get scurvy ;-)
Just kidding of course... We love being the talent scouts who get to raid with you first. But that does mean we need to constantly replenish our ranks! Right now it looks like we'll be in need of Ulduar quality DPS (rocking Naxx25/Ulduar10-25 gear) and at least a couple of healers (same deal on the gear). Tanks we should be good... But if you're a tank and want to come, I'd still say sign up.
We're looking for solid commitments from people who can be depended on most weeks (hey, it's the summer, we raid on weekends, and I prefer to raid with people who have IRL commitments as well as WOW ones - just sign up when you can, if you have a vacation, BBQ, or some other IRL reason not to be here, nobody will fault you - just give us a head's up). We'll work with you to not only gear you up, but help you enhance your rotations, specs, glyphs, enchants, gems, and everything else you need to elevate your game. Do you have what it takes?
I do... So it's not like our standards are THAT high ;-)

BTW talked with kandy and ciapha and they are both in kandy will have her tank and maybe her shammy. Healanoid is more than likely a go but he may be switching his schedule so we will keep our fingers crossed. Biana is a no go cause he is getting some run with his current guild serenity. Vitriola will be locked on his warlock due to garreth grabbing him for KB so grats to vit for that! He will still have his ret pally and I think a DK that is pretty well geared (most likely his pally though).
I just figured I should post an update of where we stand. We should have plenty of tanks from the looks of things which is good after last weekend.

Vitriola — Thu, 05/28/2009 - 12:01Thanks for understanding about my going with Garreth. I just could not turn him when he asked me to join his raid two days in a row. That would not have looked good. The raid with the kittens has been quite the roller coaster ride! He and the others in the raid are helping me iron out some rough spots and have been giving me terrific advice that I am implementing as fast as I can. I have been making radical changes to improve throughout and will be much the better lock for you! :)
OBTW Blue, I did not tell Garreth that you said he is a goober. I will keep that secret to the grave! :)
The DK is a LOT of fun for me to play and does nice dps in such naxx raids as I have been in but the pallie is far better geared and will be of more benefit to the raid so I will defer to that. Zootie is a great toon and lots of fun in ulduar as Torvo and Blue will remember from the 10 man.

I am a little worried about our dps if a player as good as you have been is struggling with deeps in ulduar.
Lemme know what you think and if you need some enchants or such let torvo and I know cause we have some mats we would gladly give you to get you hooked up! Cant wait to see you on sat vit!

Torvo — Mon, 05/25/2009 - 14:08This is a rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a raid... And if you show you can hold your own and be a consistent, contributing part of the raid, you'll get a guild invite pretty damn quick (at least compared to the usual process).
First priority will go to those already in Downfall, but I have every expectation we'll need more than a little outside help since this is (after all) our third 25 man Ulduar.
Glad to see you guys are already starting to sign up. Looking forward to the run!

DPS is really important in a lot of these fights. Strats are huge! READ THE STRATS FOR ULDUAR!!! /ulduar Know the bosses, know your role, bring flasks, food, and reagents! The fights are fun but the bosses and trash take longer to get down so you dont get as much gear or badges here if you dont give 110%.
