I prefer to keep my shit vanilla, nawmsayin?
Though I do use a bit of UI's. I like to know when my cooldowns are up, what to expect from bosses and when.
When I was raid healing on my paladin (Back in the day), I used the old school CTRaid bars that covered the majority of the screen, along with a mad plethora of other mods.
I didn't like it, but back then, it was the best way to do things, and I like doing things right.

In addition to what Grasen has already said, you can also upgrade your bracer enchant to 50 AP. Stam and Resil on shoulders? Seriously? Put some AP Crit on there, even the cheap low level Hodir stuff is better than stam/resil. I'm going to assume your Deadly Glad ring is the best you've been able to get, so I'll give you a pass there.

In your helm, Enchant is good, but Meta is wrong. Should be 21 agility and 3% crit damage. Purple gem should be Agility/Stam, not AP/stam. Agreed with Grasen, spec is sub-par as well.

I believe that the only fights you could pull 5k on, would be fights with damage buffs, or Patchwerk IF and ONLY IF you have 3 or more LnL procs, the fight is less than 2 and half minutes, and you get REALLY lucky on hits.

Doesn't look to me like you know what you're doing with your class, and we have plenty of Hunters who know what they're doing in guild.

My response to Grasen basically outlined the problems with my gems/enchants.

I've never recorded my damage on damage buff fights or Patchwerk, mainly because I don't get a hardon from easy mode things.

I just finished an emalon fight missing some of the better buffs, being lazy on rotations with 4650 DPS. I know Emalon isn't the best fight to draw DPS meter from, but goes to show that I can generate good DPS in a fight where paying attention and knowing the fight is critical. Not just a snore fest like Patchwerk.

You're also completely missing the point of my earlier post. Shorter fights mean higher % uptimes of trinkets/heroism/speed potions/Rapid Fire/Call of the Wild, etc. Archavon is this kind of boss. Emalon is to a degree as well. Patchwerk is one, and Ignis CAN be one if your group is solid. Fights like this will inflate your numbers, making it seem as if you are capable of more during other fights.

what you'll see, is that I hit 6,738 DPS. Does that mean I can push nearly 7k for every fight? Certainly not! It means I had a 34% Heroism uptime as well as higher %s of the other abilities I mentioned.

Now that I've said that, you also admit to being lazy on your rotations, then implying as if it was okay to do so. That doesn't sit well with me. It tells me you don't always put your best foot forward and don't always strive to do your best.

You also do not seem to take criticism very well, and that doesn't speak well for you. If you can't take criticism here, you won't be able to cut in in guild.

Confidence, is not a sure fire way to get anything.

We had that pally who applied who couldn't take criticism well about his app, Or his past. And instead of going up and saying, I know what I did in the past may have been off. He went off the handle and started attacking people personally. His App lasted about a day because he couldn't control his temper. And he had taken out Yogg as a fill in for Rawgrrr. I cannot find the page but his app was posted up some where on the site as how not to take your app after you fill it out.

Like Grasen said this is as much a job app as anything else because it is a serious guild, But knows how to have fun. That is the reason it has survived for 4 1/2 years, unlike many guilds that go strong for a few months. And slowly die out (that and strong leadership.) And if you were in a job interview you wouldn't be taking the critisicm back to the boss, or telling him right off the bat he is wrong. You would smiled, give him a compliment on how good he is, and take the best impression you can make on the guy. Even if you are as confident in your job skills as you are with your hunter skills in this app. Even if you have to say everything to your boss through gritted teeth. If your going to tell someone the truth, you better make them laugh, Or they'll kill ya. I hope that means something to you.

These guys know what they are doing. The programs they run. They are not your run of the mill hunters who have no idea what a shot rotation is. RAWR doesn't lie, though your not a resto druid so you cannot say it is broken. If you want to plug your numbers into a spreadsheet, go ahead, waste your own time. But if you cannot at least fake sincerity on taking criticism then your wasting the hunters who are trying to help you, and anyone who looks at this apps time.

Agreeded. Running Rawr with "favorable" buffs/foods/flasks/debuffs in your favor, I only can get an estimated 3589dps out of you. With regemming and reenchanting I can make you have about 3655 dps. And what is with the DMC:Death card? It's not exactly a good trinket (besides the crit part for 1.85%) with a proc with an ICD of 45 seconds..

I was doing 2.2k DPS in low level blue/greens when I had just hit 80.

I did 3.5k without flasks, food or favourable debuffs in 10man naxx gear.

your spec is not optimal, noxious stings will give you more than imp hawk. again under hit cap by alot but didnt spec into the hit?

we are looking for people who have a good grasp on their class, one of the first things you should have learned as a hunter is agi greater than all once hit capped. followed by crit.

as for shot at raiding? our hunters have been around a long time, I can gaurentee you would wait longer than 3 mo to raid.

Also lets talk about how you filled out your app, would you cuss that much in a job app? cause thats what we consider this. while most of us do cuss often, we dont know you from adam, how you present yourself goes a long way.

I agree that applying without proper enchants/gemming is not exactly the smartest thing to do if I'm trying to look my best. I haven't raided for some odd weeks, only hit 80 recently. I was aquiring gear fast, and putting the very best on each item wasn't the smartest thing for me to do economically since I would virtually be upgrading every week.

Since the guild fell apart, I've mainly stuck to just doing battlegrounds and the occasional arena matches. I've had little reason to focus on my PvE gear. If I were accepted to any capable raiding guild, I would yes, fix my gear up. I understand applying at your best will help seperate you from the baddies, but I know and can prove that I am not such a terrible player without destroying my purse in the process.

I am not severely below hitcap. At current, about 6%. Get a Draenei in there, 7%.

Whether you acknowledge it or not, even being 0.1% below hit cap will hurt your DPS, let alone a full 1%. Pet scaling will always round DOWN by a %, so being 0.1% under would round down your pet's hit rating a full 1%. But you're at 5.95% hit rating, meaing you are losing 2% of your pets damage(the full %, plus the rounded down %), as well as 1% of your own. Not winning gear is NOT an excuse. You can easily toss 16 hit rating into your belt, and another into your ring. That would put you very close to hit cap by itself, and seeing as you wouldn't lose any socket bonuses, but you would gain 4 ArP, it would be foolish to believe your current set up is sufficient. You say the priority of dps stats are "clearly" true, and yet you do not gem for it in reality? Not to mention, all hunters have a base 1% to miss already, so in theoretical numbers, you're doing a grand scheme of 2-3% less pet damage, and 1-2% less of your own possible damage.

RAWR is a horrible tool for calculating hunter DPS and pretty much always has been. That being said, Emalon isn't a good dps fight, and even if it were, all we have is your word that you pulled as much DPS as you say you did. Next time post a WWS parse to SHOW us, not tell us and hope we believe you. Screen shots of Recount are not good enough. They don't give enough information to be scrutinized.

You have a lot of work and research to do, if you want to ever be considered for a progression raid of any kind here.

Stock UI aside. I like him. Seems to be confident. I like that he takes pride in his play.

On that note, I am sure you would get called in to fill in but raid spots can be hard to come by. We don't really have a process as far as earning raid spot, you just show up prepared long enough and eventually you get your spot i.e. get invited with the first string of invites.

We have a great community, beside no 'hate/racist' speech there are really no rules, just dont be a douche. Sign up/show up, play well and have fun. Thats about it.

You say you don't like alot of addons then nawmsaying. Everyone in Downfall is an UI junkie. Go to galeries and look at UIs there are a great number of those pics on the sight. Look at random image, besides boobs, funny cat pics, and babies there are screenshots of UIs. To not modify your screen, and just using the standard UI will hinder you in a raid if you need someone to help you set up an addon hit up dfrecruit channel and someone will explain it to you.

You also say no on friday and then make reference getting shitfaced on that night. Torvos raid is on a saturday at 11. That is your main way of gettting noticed by the guild, It is also a fun raid. If you can't make it to the raid because your head hurts too much from that absinthe you had last night, or your passed out on a friends couch, then it's on you. And signing up and missing a raid is not a good deal.

Don't need a hunter who has hair on his balls. Need a hunter who has shaved his balls because he is that badass.

I honestly can't fathom how using stock UI (Bars and such) limit me as DPS. That seems to be the biggest problem based on my screen shot.

The only thing I really need is omniCC which allows me to determine rotations perfectly and DBM.

UI junkie or not, I get the job done properly and without screwing up.

I rarely, if ever, miss an official guild raid (Especially one I have signed up for). I suppose it is my misfortune that Torvo's raids take place early on Saturday's, but I can find and work around it. It's not too much of a problem for me.

I generally run WoW off an HP Pavilion laptop or a widescreen HDTV, the resolution I play at is the only one that provides sharp and crisp graphics. That's just ascethetics though, don't see how that should impact anything really~ (Unless the guild UI pack is affected by it?)

As far as UI goes, I'm running OmniCC, Pulse, Recount, SCT as well. I suppose I should have shown all that in the screenshot, but I don't see how switching up bars or the like really affects my gameplay.

(I've been playing with the vanilla bars since '04, so I've got 5 years of finger memory to where my skills are :D - Though generally everything is bound to a key)
