You know the drill. We'll shoot for 25, but settle for 10 if we can't fill up a raid.
This is our last raid before taking 2 weeks off for the 4th of July and the DF guild meetup. Let's make it count!
Invites starting somewhere between 10:30 and 11am, dependent on when I roll out of bed, drink coffee, eat breakfast, kick a baby, and finally get online. If you aren't there by 11:15, I'm not counting on you... So if you sign up, make sure you speak up if you might not be there on time! As usual, we'll raid until 5pm at the latest.
Ulduar is tough. Get your enchants and gems. Bring flasks. I'll bring feasts (but feel free to help out there if you have some too).

Great job. A couple of hiccups but really just another problem with hodir. Down to 30% a few times but I really dont know what the deal is. any ideas???

Nellem1 — Sat, 06/27/2009 - 18:15i saw 2 things: in trying to keep singe up on hodir, i found myself a bit out of range of the healers sometimes. This may have happened to others as well. Also, this fight is a mechanics fight. Meaning: to do it correctly is the way to succeed. So, It requires each player to manuever correctly and position themselves accordingly. Other than that, all I saw was dps dying from the frost tick. The more dps we lost, the more likely it was to be a failed attempt.

moriella — Sat, 06/27/2009 - 19:36If you are doing it right, it can be 4 healed. Damage is really minimal to the raid. yes there is a slow dot but it's easy to keep that damage healed up. Make sure your ret is judging light and put a pallie on the tank. Have one shammie chain thru the tank and your other shammie and druid can raid heel as needed.
If your raid is taking damage and dying from it, you do NOT need more raid heals - you need dps to learn the fight and not
Truly, this is not a heal intensive fight. You are gonna HAVE to do it with few healers to ever hit hard mode - so might as well start learning how to do it right the first time - it's totally about DPS not being stupid, just like vezak

I would pop my HS and a pot during the first phase of frozen blows to ensure i wasn't dying right then. But I would agree that I sometimes found myself standing a bit too long. Near the end, I started getting better with the rotation of cast, strafe, cast, strafe. Practice makes perfect right? I thought we did a really good job (though I honestly have nothing to compare it against), but we just need a little tweaking to make it work.

bluetouguyss — Sat, 06/27/2009 - 20:24Agreed moriella. Dps can be an issue and last week it WAS THE ISSUE for sure! We were terrible at not getting on the mound in flash freeze, not moving enough to keep the debuffs off us.
This week in our 10 man we didnt have nearly the issues with our dps dying early it didnt seem. I would need to go back to the parses to look for sure and the last few times I was tanking so I had a different view of things but it seemed like a more healing issue. Maybe that is because of the dps being dumb but I dont know for sure that is why I was trying to get some conversations from the people that were there and what they saw and how we can get better.

Like I had said last week I have my feral druid to tank, disc priest to heal, lock to dps, or enh shaman to dps. I will hopefully get my lazy self out of bed again this week sleeping till noon is a bad habit I need to break.

We did great last week once we got the 10 man running. All the way to hodir without a wipe is pretty great and something to strive for even if we run a 25 man but everyone has to focus! We cant lose dps over and over again in fights where you have to move. READ THE STRATS!!!! They are a valuable asset. Also go on youtube and look for videos of boss kills in ulduar to help put what your seeing in the strat actually in action. Lets make this week count. We have yet to get a tier 8 piece and I want that to change this weekend!

I also like to use www.tankspot.com and search for posts regarding strats by Ciderhelm. He does an excellent job explaining fights as they are going on.
