Dual boxing healers.

I tried this out on KT last night, but I need to work out some bugs. Here's how I've set it up.
Important Key Binds:
** Identifies /cast [target=mouseover, exists] [target=target]
Resto Druid:
1: Lifebloom**
2: Rejuvenation**
3: Nourish**
4: Swiftmend**
5: Nature's Swiftness + Healing Touch
Alt1: Wild Growth**
Alt2: Regrowth**
Alt3: Decurse **
Alt4: Abolish Poison**
Both: Q: Focus Target, E: Target Focus
Holy Pally:
1: Holy Shock
2: FoL
3: Holy Light
4: Cleanse**
Alt1: Sacred Shield*/tar focus, /cast SS, /targetlasttarget (I think I should remove targetlasttarget)
Alt2: Aura Mastery
Alt3: TargetOfTarget judgement - this one needs work. Currently I have to retarget focus manually after judging.
Alt4: Beacon**
Some quick background. I'm running a program (HotKeyNet) that transmits my keypresses from one copy of wow to the other. If I hold shift+click my mouse, it transmits cursor position and the mouseclick as well. Blizzard has said that multiboxing is currently allowed, as long as you have to physically be at the keyboard pushing the keys, and each keypress can only perform one action per character (macros count as 1 action, regardless of how many commands are in it).
My strategy for KT was to focus the tank on my pally, and have him spamming FoL (since my druid hits rejuv like a madman). My focus was on my druid's game, and not watching the pally all that closely. I was hitting WG pretty often, so I don't think I had much if any downtime on SS. Beacon of light uptime was probably less, but I hadn't planned out a way of tracking it. Since it applies the Beacon of light buff to everyone in the raid, I might be able to keep track of that with dotimer on my druid's screen. KT was a rough fight to first attempt this, since I couldn't /follow my druid to keep better track of the pally.
I think my biggest problem is my targeting system. As it is, I have a lot of trouble picking up targets on my pally. It may mostly be a bug though, as last night when I was using my Shift+mouseclick it was opening my spellbook on my druid. I think it might be better though to have my pally focus my druid, and set up healing macros like this:
/tar focus
/assist
/cast healing spell
It really doesn't matter who my druid has targeted, since all his heals are mouseovers. So I could use his target to set my pally's target. Upside to this is that I can put more of my attention on my druid's game, and would be able to adjust my pally's target faster.
I think the beacon/abolish and SS/WG macros work pretty well, the only bad things are tracking beacon on my druid's screen and I'm casting WG more often than SS needs to be refreshed (wasting mana). Also, I'm not sure if I have my spells paired right. WG/Holy shock would almost be a better combination (similar CDs) than WG/SS. But I sometimes throw out more than a few lifeblooms, and refreshing SS that much wastes a lot more mana than my current pairing. Most of malt dropped after a few wipes on KT and Morgyn filled up the raid to finish. This is when I brought my pally in. My druid's % of healing went down about 4%, and my pally only accounted for about 3%. Unfortunately there aren't parses for the KT pulls we had after I brought my pally in.
Thoughts on how I can improve?

Prime8 — Sat, 07/11/2009 - 22:44I just ran a 10 man with Prime/Aremi healing, it was pretty awesome. I only needed help on horseman and Gothik, although for Gothik Aremi did some OK dps (had a boomkin dual speced resto in the group). Very few deaths for the run, and most of them were stupid things. I missed the thaddius jump on Prime, and just left him to die. On Heigen I speced Aremi ret and just let him do whatever dmg he could before dying. On horseman, after we got the first guy down, our tanks had some issues with taunting, and the one Aremi was following ran him to his death. KT was the most fun, only 1 person died, and it was from standing in a void zone.

Also, delete your log, or move it or something. You had stuff from March I had to clean out.
Seems to be a lot of fights the pally was inconsequential. Looks to need the constant raid damage and it acts as another chain heal jump / beacon target type of thing.
AH ty Saedo. The old log
Prime8 — Sun, 07/12/2009 - 12:31AH ty Saedo. The old log stuff must have been from when I copied my installation over to this drive. I knew it was the first time I had logged one since then.
I'm finding out that about the only thing the pally can be good for is a healbot for the main tank + beacon target. Something odd I'm noticing is that the pally only had 24 hits of Holy Shock, where Prime had 71 hits from riptide. Those spells are paired because of the equivalent CD, I'm wondering if I was missing Holy Shock because of GCDs I wasn't paying attention to. If that's the case /stopcasting might be in order.
The uptime on JoL was bad I think. Looking at the 10% uptime I had on Judgements of the Pure, I'm definitely not hitting that enough.
I think you're forgetting to
saedo — Sun, 07/12/2009 - 12:48I think you're forgetting to check crits, assuming you got the 24 number from the Defeated Bosses splits.. Crits and hits are seperated into 2 lists, looks like you had 36 crits, bringing your total to 60 Holy Shocks.
Of course, that means you misread Riptide too, so that's another 43 crits, for 114 Riptides.
Well it's half the amount. But looks like your Pally didn't heal for a few fights, taking those Riptides out would be, 26 on Heigan, and 12 on Gothik.
So looks like more accurate comparision would be 60 Holy Shocks to 76 Riptides. Close, then rest could be the GCD thing.
As for JoL, remember, the Judgement of the Pure buff is 60 seconds, but the Judgement of Light debuff is 20 seconds. So have to do it 3 times as much if your intention is the JoL uptime. But, you did have a prot pally, he should've been Judging Light. I believe the priority is Highest AP Ret > Prot > Holy.
As an update, I've been 2
Prime8 — Thu, 07/09/2009 - 15:01As an update, I've been 2 manning a lot of stuff lately with my druid tanking and my pally healing. Recently I've 2 manned H MGT, KZ up to the Huntsman (only interested in the mount, I'm confident I could go much further), normal UK, and normal HoL. I had 3 mid-70s dps with me for HoL, I originally just went in there to heal, but the tank ditched for some reason. I also tanked/healed Emalon. Some notes for my own reference:
I was paying too much attention to my druid's screen once I had control of Emalon, so my pally's heals weren't as effective as I wanted. Smart thing to do would have been to move my lacerate to the same key as FoL, then I could have pretty much just ignored my druid. I also didn't change my Beacon macro ahead of time, so I had it on my pally the whole time. It would have been smarter to keep it up on the other tank (Grov).
I used to do this with my
Ardea — Thu, 07/02/2009 - 18:22I used to do this with my Druid/Priest on the horde side... I meant to post earlier... Here is how I would do it.
Druid - Main screen with Mouse-over macros
Main Heals: Wild Growth, Rejuev, Regrowth, LifeBloom
Emergancy: NS-HT, Swift mend
Other: Decurse, Poison
Paladin - Secondary screen (I admit I am mainly guessing on the paladin specific stuff) with /assist /cast Heal or /cast bubble or /cast buff
Main Heals: Holy Light, Bacon, Flash of Light
Emergancy: LoH, Holy Shock, Bubble
Other: Cleanse (you can use the same key as the Druid decurse/depoison)
Druid:
I would use buttons 1 through 6 (You can switch out poison and decurse because it is rare you will have both in one fight... and I would use 6 because it is furtherest away from your move keys and it will not be the most used)
Paladin:
I would use Q,E,F,V,C,Z,G,6. The main reason I would use different keys than the druid is
... I am not sure, it was just easier for me to hit 2 keys instead of thinking about which key does what 2 spells. All spells would be macro-ed with a /assist <Druid> /Cast <Spell> so as the druid is mousing around casting you would click on a person for the paly to heal.
I would use Q and E for your main healing spam because they are next to your druid healing spells making it easy to fat finger them.
Leaving F, V. G and C... decide which ones you can hit the fastest for the emergancy heal.
Jumping:
I cant decide if i would want them to jump at the same time...
Moving:
Debind or not transmit WASD for the paly and arrow keys for the Druid.
I would use the arrow keys to nudge the paly and a /follow <druid> macro for big moves... you may want to do /follow /mount macro
Interesting suggestions
Prime8 — Mon, 07/06/2009 - 12:47Interesting suggestions Ardea. I'll have to pick through some of the keybindings more in depth to figure out what would work and what wouldn't. I will say that jumping is being transmitted (helps me cancel casting if the pally's target is already at full health, and has almost no impact on instant cast hots), and WADS are not.
As far as buffing, I don't mind taking a few extra seconds at the beginning of the fight to switch screens (druid buffs are easy at least, and with PP set up, its just a few clicks), so I'm not really concerned about keybinding the buffs.
What would you pair sacred shield, holy shock, and beacon with? My only issue with holy shock is that I'm not getting it every CD when its paired with lifebloom (or maybe I just need to be casting lifebloom more to compensate).
I think this is a pretty cool
garreth — Thu, 07/02/2009 - 11:57I think this is a pretty cool experiment. I'm stoked to see further parses!
I'm starting to think
Prime8 — Thu, 07/02/2009 - 11:17I'm starting to think druid/pally isn't the way to do this. Druids just have way too many spells in their arsenal to try to pair them up with pally spell. This might work out better as shaman/pally. Probably do something like this:
1: LHW / FoL
2: CH / FoL
3: NS+HW / HoSac+Bubble
4: Riptide / Holy Shock (shammy 2pt8 + pally 4pt7 = same CD)
5: HW / HoL
Alt1: ES / Beacon
Alt2: Purge / SS
Alt3: Cleanse / JoW
Alt4: totem macro / HoS
Alt5: ? (usually a fight specific totem) / BoP

Awesome Jay. That's worse
Prime8 — Mon, 06/29/2009 - 12:22Awesome Jay. That's worse than I thought. It looks like I was targeting Aremi/Castro for 40 some casts, probably all of that was overhealing. Looks like I also need a better way to select who I'm using beacon on, its healing was pretty much worthless, as was holy shock. I wish I could have had Aremi up on MT windows to track his target. Target selection is definitely the biggest problem. I think if I assist Castro that would help get holy shocks hitting things like the frost blasts rather than just overhealing the tank.
I was playing a little panicky that fight. I didn't use a single nourish on Castro, which would have been a holy light on Aremi. Sometime this week I think I'm going to try to run a 10 man and get some of these bugs worked out. I really should be able to 2 heal all of it, I've already been able to solo heal quite a few of the bosses on Prime.
I use F1, F2, F3, F4.
cromi — Mon, 06/29/2009 - 09:32I use F1, F2, F3, F4. Instead of Alt 1. And my decurse, And abolish poison are on Clique.
Clique would be
Prime8 — Mon, 06/29/2009 - 09:51Clique would be counter-productive for what I'm trying to accomplish here. Also my key bindings aren't an issue, its the pairings of the spells and my targeting strategy on the pally that could be better.
