I'd cut down on all of your
Agoney — Fri, 08/14/2009 - 06:43I'd cut down on all of your buttons... Do you need all of that stuff shown? I was guilty of not hiding my buttons, but the more I think of it there's really no reason to show any (combat wise) since everything should be bound..
Also, move your UF's to a more central location, they seem too far spaced out. Same with your cast bar.. If it works for you thats fine, but just looking imo it seems like there's too much of a range to be looking at on your screen..
The bottom is really cluttered.. Again with the buttons, maybe organize and eliminate some.. Chat window is huge, slim it down even though you can see through it.. This will help on fights with ground dmg/ae.. The more options you give yourself to move (and the closer they are) will result in an inc in dps.. why run 20 yds to the right if 5 yards behind you is clear of fire, you know?
As a caster DPS in a raid
Dufe — Thu, 08/13/2009 - 17:51As a caster DPS in a raid setting, there is a small handful of things that are important.
Less important to DPS, but potentially important to staying alive on some fights, is having a close look at your own health and having a generally clean ui area. Fubar should help you un-clutter you mini-map. I usually suggest that people drop the cutesy fonts and such nonsense in raid. Clarity and readability are more important, though maybe not enough to get in a fight over.
Thanks for taking time for
Vitriola — Thu, 08/13/2009 - 18:12Thanks for taking time for the assistance. I know that the setup is odd but I have the cast bar and sundries at the top as that is where my eye tends to be. I look at things from above and that makes the main target appear at the top where I have the casting stuff.
I do not use those CD timers that you mention. You will see two icons just under the casting bar. The left one is spell priority which tells me the most important spell that is ready to cast. The one on the right is just a dot that is instant cast and I use it to show me the global cd. So, the combination of that and the casting bar tells me when to cast. Spell priority tells me what to cast.
Also, there was no target in this particular SS as I was doing AE. Usually there is, of course.
