Website decency
Gares of War — Mon, 08/17/2009 - 19:37
So, I do enjoy b**bs, very much so, but seriously people need to stop putting crap on the site like side b**bs, scantily clad women, and other stuff like that or put a freaking disclaimer on the post. I am really freaking tired of looking at posts at work and seeing "OMG B**BS" or something else. We can see this crud on our own time. I mainly read the site at work, and now I don't have the interest to check the site because I could lose my job.
If people really have the need to put naked individuals, body parts, or pulsating nether regions on the site, please, please, please add a disclaimer or (cross cross cross) or (Not for work). That is all I am asking.

Do girls have a problem with
maryleen — Tue, 09/08/2009 - 03:43Do girls have a problem with guys who have scantily clad women posters in their bedrooms? My bedroom walls are all poster'd up and about a third of them are almost naked women. Does the average girl have a problem with this? The rest are band and movie posters. I'm just fronting what I like. I'm not interested in religious girls anyway FYI.
It is a very individual
Vitriola — Tue, 09/08/2009 - 08:31It is a very individual thing. Sometimes it can be art as with venus de milo, or the vitruvian man. Then there is plain porn and all the gradations between. Some like it some do not. Some will tolerate it, some will not. Being attracted based on what we see is a defining characteristic of men and looking is part of our visceral nature.
My wife and I worked this out. We concluded that, if I could not appreciate beauty in others, how could I appreciate it in her? (She was a totally hot redhead. No idea how I scored HER, but there it is.) She did not have trouble with nude girlies, though she was totally straight. e.g. When she was learning photography, she was told to look at playboy pictorials as they are examples of superb photography. She got lots of them and studied diligently with no problems. As a loving and dutiful husband, I had to show interest in her hobbies and did so, but that is just because I am a great guy!
just to flip it
Kwondre — Tue, 09/08/2009 - 05:33just to flip it around...would you have a problem making out with a girl in a room full of banana hammock posters? Or worse...Jonas Brothers posters?
Don't think its a religion thing, I think its a taste thing.
It's common sense guys. I
Lunchbox — Mon, 08/24/2009 - 08:18It's common sense guys. I think by now you should know that alot of us view this site from work. If you are going to be vulgar PUT NSFW IN YOUR SUBJECT BOX. This is not about censoring anyone, this is about me keeping my job as well as keeping this site from being blocked at work. Just don't be dumb.
Although I should be loath to
Dufe — Mon, 08/24/2009 - 10:07Although I should be loath to admit this, there are roughly a bajillion ways around work website blocks depending on the systems they use. I will leave the googling to you . . .
The point is Dufe is no one

Dufe — Sun, 08/23/2009 - 20:45As a note: The alerting/logging systems many networks have for tracking this type of thing are based on keywords. (Generally certain combinations of words to avoid tagging too many personal health-type pages.) In other words, a long rant with alot of dirty language is probably more likely to get folks investigated at work than a pic . . . so keep an eye on both.
I have been served. I know
Gares of War — Sun, 08/23/2009 - 23:29I have been served. I know when I have been koala'd.
Although a co-worker walking behind you with pictures is bad too.
That's not the problem so
carno — Tue, 08/18/2009 - 17:35That's not the problem so much as, um... posts which get involuntarily cross-authored into booby fests. Could we maybe create a poop or NSFW or [creative name] forum for such posts -- and flat out disallow NSFW content/editing elsewhere?
Suggestion, that is all.
One of the problems there is
Alprazalam — Wed, 08/19/2009 - 21:03One of the problems there is that ppl would still need to put a disclaimer in the subject lines of their Replies. Everything shows up in the Recent Comments Box and when you are at work, school, parent's comp, etc, and they see a recent comment they haven't looked at and they click on it, BOOM. Hope this makes sense.
I forgot to add this, but if
Alprazalam — Wed, 08/19/2009 - 21:05I forgot to add this, but if there was away to make the replies/posts/etc in the NSFW forumn NOT appear in the comment box, it would be awesome.
Get on that, Al.

garreth — Mon, 08/17/2009 - 21:21I think asking people to "NSFW" the title of their posts is fair.

Ewiges — Mon, 08/17/2009 - 21:07Also, how many people have kids that browse these forums? I know back in the way day our DoD clan had several kids that played often and also visited the forums. We had no cursing rules and no sexual content rules.
It's not a matter of kids,
Shihli — Mon, 08/17/2009 - 21:19It's not a matter of kids, it's a matter of people idly browsing the site at work and getting fired because of porn.
I fully agree with Gares.
I would accept NSWF, took me
Gares of War — Mon, 08/17/2009 - 22:00I would accept NSWF, took me a while to get it though.
