Replace all orange or green or purple gems with straight spellpower and just leave two of the purple gems(spellpower + spirit) to keep your meta activated. I understand some of it was for PVP but never put a gem in to satisfy a socket bonus, just put straight spellpower. Also upgrade all your gems to epic gems asap.
Enchants need s little work, get exalted with Hodir for the best shoulder enchant. Your chest needs to be enchanted with +10 to all stats currently it has no enchant. Weapon needs an enchant upgrade to 63 spellpower.
Your belt needs a buckle, the mats are simple get it made asap and slap a pure spellpower gem in it.
You are also not hit capped you need at least 265 hit to be hit capped (with a Draenei) and not miss, that will also increase your DPS and mana efficiency.
Other than that you just need upgraded gear. I need ot look at your glyphs, I forgot.
Ok glyphs, drop inner fire one and get mind flay, also swap the fort minor glyph for shadow prot, they dont really matter but 30 minutes is nice.

Grussles — Tue, 08/25/2009 - 23:39yeah i addressed the glyph below...i was gonna get swd cuz to me mind flay seems like just a convenience where as swd actually increases dps and the only reason to use swd is to because it will proc spirit tap because i understand that dps wise mindflay is more valuable but with the 10% from the glyph and the spirit proc it's worth it...and i read it on elitist jerks so don't think i'm smart...even though i know you dont...and lastly i agree bout getting epic gems but i just did the math and it's 30g more per spell power point just to upgrade sp by 25 points...also i should have a belt buckle in my belt so idk why it isn't showing...i do plan on getting all epics but i'm not paying 200g per i'll use honor points so it's gonna be a bit slower to...or i'll wait til the price goes down also sorry bout the hit thing...i meant to have my deadly ring in cuz it has 40 hit

Knoppix (not verified) — Wed, 08/26/2009 - 00:21I still recommend the mindflay glyph the range is nice and alot of spriests have cut SWD out of their rotation including myself, I do use it rarely. The SWD glyph is more of a PVP based glyph giving you 10% more damage to a target under 35% health which is only useful 1/3 of the fight. Having a high enough crit raiting I almost always have imp spirit tap up (48% uptime average) anyways without SWD, but to each their own.
Upgrading the gems over time is fine, but getting $$$ is fairly easy now too, just saying. I bought all mine with leftover badges and farmed the rest on my JC alt.

And the swd glyph isn't a pvp glyph either...maybe it's just useless cuz they would have ot have less than 7k health on average but meh...i'm sure someone likes it...i guess since i'm done with shadow pvp the mind flay glyph will work...anyways appreciate the tips i'll see you when i xfer so you can see me in action :)

Knoppix (not verified) — Mon, 08/24/2009 - 17:17OK, first you need ot modify your spec slightly, the extra healing from [Improved Vampiric Embrace] is pointless, instead pickup [Improved Shadowform]. You have no idea how much of a DPS increase that is as there are an assload of interupts or pushbacks built into this game and [Mindflay] is our primary source of DPS, this will also increase your AOE DPS slightly in cases where you may suffer pushbacks like on Freya and the lashers and many other situations.
I can not really comment on your gear at the moment because you are in full Furious PVP gear, can you please put on your PVE gear so I can see how you enchant, gem and balance your gear. Just numbers I like to see and that work well for me is a crit rating of 19%+, haste rating 420+ and make sure hit is capped. Also make sure you have the highest spellpower items you can get that successfuly allow you to balanace gear properly. All spellpower enchants except haste on the cloak and [Icewalker] on the boots is how I roll. Gems I use all [Runed Cardinal Ruby] except for 2 slots I use [Purified Dreadstone] to activae the meta gem [Chaotic Skyflare Diamond]. So needless to say I want to see your PVE gear.
Do you go to http://www.shadowpriest.com alot? Do you know what bosses drop your BIS items and do you know how to use tools such as RAWR to determine how you will get maximum DPS? The reason I ask because I am into theorycrafting as alot of Downfall is and to use is very important. Below is a great link on BIS gear:

Here is a video of my UI in action, my UI is fairly minimal (still perfecting it) but I still have a full view of everything I need to see in a fight and it serves me quite well and me referencing it means I think you need to improve your UI some:

Framerate for a shadow priest is HIGHLY important if you are not getting better than 15 FPS you are not doing optimal DPS, if you are lagging and your latency is over 150 you again are killing your DPS. Our class depends heavily on weaving a damn near perfect rotation to obtain the DPS numbers one should be at. 5200 - 5800+ DPS (on non AOE fights) is what I tend to average at but I would expect that anyone could hit 4200 - 4800 which is a pretty decent but not optimal or enough for hardmodes.
All of us here at Downfall are extremely flexible as far as raiding, so be ready to get out of your comfort zone to make hardmodes happen.
I can't think of anything else atm, and I don't know if I left anything out, but lets see your gear and how well you mesh with others and update your UI and we will go from there.

Grussles — Tue, 08/25/2009 - 11:35sorry those talent points were there just as bullshit because i didn't really know where to put them and i figured i'd go a bit easier on the healers cuz i could bubble to reduce pushback but i will make that change immediately...i only said that to show you where i was coming from. as far as shadow priest.com i always have that open when i raid now after i went there and realized i downgraded a couple times (a few months ago i've lived and learned) and i usually hit bout 4500...my framerate isn't that low but i'd be interested to see how much it goes up cuz i'm usually rollin round 12 in a 25 man and my latency is as low as it can get cuz the server has high latency as it is but i buy my own internet and i'm wired in. i've done alot of the theory craft stuff and i know bout the priority rotation vt>mb>dp>mf and i even know that if you do a full rotation before putting down swp then you're prolly gonna get alot more dps cuz of earth and moon.I also think that throwing swd between dp and mf is good to proc spirit tap. I'd like to point out that my 4500 dps was without an ele shaman or a boomkin though. and i'm ok to do hard mode...i'm usually a quick learner about stuff and i've done alot of the hard modes on 10 man. the only question i have bout the ui...and the one that would help me the most is that dot timer on the bottom middle that looks like dbm

Latency is the main factor but anything below 10 FPS you are asking for trouble, make sure you use Quartz for your casting bar it is amazing, it shows latency in a red area so that you can guage when to hit your buttons again.
You might notice a significant difference when you take imp shadow form, it really does help with all the aoe pushbacks in this game.
25 man dps was what I was talking about as far as numbers, without an elemental shaman and a chicken makes it rough on DPS, I believe on the video I linked I had no elemental or chicken buffs in a 10 man.
The DPS is fine, it was just an example, just dont go lower than 4500 or so (single target of course), because then that is too low in 25 man imho (we all have times where DPS gets hosed so no worries). I am just a person who maxamizes and try to play my charater to its limits and sometimes I am forced to downgrade gear to keep balance which sucks but that is life.
And that is right never put up SW:P until you have a 5 stack of shadow weaving, I do it someties before 5 stack but mind flay fixes that, situational fights make our rotation highly dynamic.

Frame mods and bar mods are, for the most part, only an outward projection of what's underneath. I think as long as someone is keybound and using the "right" mods, they have no disadvantage over someone like me, who uses BT4 and PitBull 4. We can't judge our applicants based on things that make no difference to their level of skill. We should focus on their knowledge of mechanics and helpful mods like Ora2, Grid, Big Wigs, etc, etc.

I can go there it's just easier to avoid it. I run as few mods as i can because it just slows my fps and fps is more important than mods in a raid so i use mods that give functionality more than aesthetics

I like shadow cuz all my gear is shadow and i like to be able to quest and that's a bitch to do if i'm a healing class. and my other spec is my pvp spec and as a pvp'er with 2k experience and that being my favorate part of the game i'd reallya at least wanna try to keep that spec. Also i do have a relatively decent healing set and healing experience cuz i have disc healed pretty deep into ulduar.
and for number 2. It's like why would anyone join any guild. they wanna have fun and that's why i play this game so i can have fun. and to me experienceing endgame content and getting gear is fun and that fun is ampliflied alot if the group that you raid with is a really good group of individuals. All about the team and comradery with it. you guys seem to be the type of guild to bring down the raid "poison" and the time bombs that just destroy raids from the inside if 1 thing doesn't go right. that's what i expect as far as guilds go cuz i also think that pvp is fun but i can do that without a guild.
