antalissa — Mon, 01/25/2010 - 10:40By the way, Kitchen Nightmares starts up this week for all you Ramsey fans. Looks like this will be an explosive season!

Iteabagyou — Tue, 01/19/2010 - 11:24All this talk about cooking and no mention of Gordon Ramsey.....? How can you talk food and not mention his awesomeness. If you don't know about him you should go look him up on either the BBC channel or on Hulu under Kitchen Nightmares/Hells Kitchen you won't be disappointed.

Elapsed — Mon, 01/25/2010 - 10:13Ramsay is one of my fav's I just watched Gordon's Great Escape 3 part series where he travels to India to learn how the Brit's fav food Curries are made properly and how diverse they are all over the country. It's a good watch to see him going from a 50k person wedding all the way down to a super poor village who has a chutney made from ants and ant eggs.

Bad editing
Vitriola — Mon, 10/05/2009 - 08:43I have seen shows where they can show one person's hands and someone else's face. If you do not assume that the hands you see are hers, the way that they edit her show, she does not at all need to know how to cook. They rarely show her doing anything but simple things like stirring, or placing something in the pan. As she was a contestant on iron chef, getting her butt kicked by Rachael Ray, I assume that she actually CAN cook, but I cannot tell that from watching her show.
I must say that her handlers REALLY like her large boobs and teeny waist as they dress her to accentuate that feature. Well, at least we know what they are selling on THAT show! ROFL
That's a dangerous
Shihli — Mon, 10/05/2009 - 11:22That's a dangerous assumption, because Rachel Ray can't cook either. Neither can Sandra Lee, or most of the "cooking talent" that Food Network has on nowadays.
Who cares about cooking!
Desteran — Mon, 10/05/2009 - 13:35Who cares about cooking! Skill is unnecessary when you look like her.
I wouldn't have a problem so
Elapsed — Mon, 10/05/2009 - 09:52I wouldn't have a problem so much with her, were she not over-pronouncing every Italian word or even just random words with that horrible accent
AMEN TO THAT!
Vitriola — Mon, 10/05/2009 - 11:10That has long been a sore spot for me, at least as of when I discovered that she was speaking. I often wondered about that. Food network does seem to have a place for people with over the top accents. Paula Dean, for example. Even cartoon southerners do not speak like that. Proper southern speaking is much more like Grasen and Aidin.
Are you forgetting she's an
PoTink — Mon, 10/05/2009 - 11:19Are you forgetting she's an older southerner? I know plenty of the older generation that speak like Paula Dean.
I did not forget.
Vitriola — Mon, 10/05/2009 - 11:26I know older southerners also and Paula remains an aberration.
She's not just southern,
PoTink — Mon, 10/05/2009 - 12:10She's not just southern, she's from Savannah, Georgia and yes the older generation talk like that. Either way, we can agree to disagree.
Well...
Vitriola — Mon, 10/05/2009 - 12:23Her sons do not talk like that. Her husband does not talk like that. All I am saying is that, even for old timers she is a rarity. Remember that I was talking about southerners and not just one generation from one particular area. She is atypical.
Oh yes silly me, why did I
PoTink — Mon, 10/05/2009 - 13:12Oh yes silly me, why did I not realize that guys talk exactly like girls! A true southern woman, which she is, does not talk like men and if she did she'd probably be scoffed at. I'm done with this conversation though...it's pointless.
