Raid Experience:

I have been playing the game sense just after launch. However my end game experience didn't start till far later. I've only been a handful of the BC instances and nearly none of the raids. I have however done a few Grull's with DF in the past. Most of my heavy gamin in WoW happened post WoTLK. I have done all of the the Instances 5 and 5 heroics. I've also done all of the initial 10 and 25 mans to WoTLK. I also was in a rad group that did Ulduar at it's release but because it was that guild's Alt raid group and the main raidgroup members were doing so many raid, they disbanded it, and as I have already mentioned my guild had by this time disbanded I took a bit of a break from WoW. I was DPS as Boomkin for all of them. For about a month I healed. I was ok in the position but enjoyed DPS to respected to that.

I'm a freelance flash developer. I graduated from Kendall college of art and design in '07. Had a bit of a reset on my personal life about 7 months ago. Went from a salary carrier and home ownership with a girlfriend of 6 1/2 years to single living with a old college buddy and his wife and unemployed. It was rough. But I've started freelancing, I'm dating and things with my new roommates couldn't be better. I also think I'll be looking for a full time position some time soon, so that will be a whole new adventure on it's own and I'm looking forward to it.

Stay in dfrecruit chat. That's your opportunity to run stuff with our folks when we shout in there. It's the best way we have to assess play skill, performance and non-douchey-tude. Until then, we have plenty, plenty, plenty of people who are only on periodically in guild. My goal with Downfall is to fill it full of people who are passionate and active. I remember sylvenhax, as I was one of the quiet and unknown guildies back in the BC days as well. Sylven was actually pretty nice if my mem serves me right. Yes, you are known by your associates, but why discriminate against this one person who is trying to make amends, even acknowledges his former crew was a bag of dicks. I say, let us be the bigger adult in a situation like this and not be close minded assholes who base someones intentions by just association with group of pricks in a game that happened a year or 2 ago. People change and grow.

This is the app process, give this ONE person the same fair treatment we should be giving all our apps and if they pass they pass. See if this one is a douche bag or not, especially since no one remembers him at all other than he was part of the HAX crew. I know I'm not playing at the moment, but I do remember Sylven and Sylven was a cool kid, regardless of his asshole friends.

1) He left with a group of jackasses - he knowingly left. With a group of jackasses.

If my assumption is correct, We have always been starving for raiders. Name a time when we have a fill-in at a moments notice at all times.

Yeah, he left knowingly, a YEAR or more ago with his friend, who isn't playing anymore. Would you of left with your friend or stayed in a guild that you really didn't know many people at all.

Lets be real here. Its been some time now since the indecent or whatever happened( not to mention that no one can really say what happened other than they left like assholes as a group) Drop the grudges. I know Downfall is one of the best guilds here, not just in performance either. We have an awesome community which is what makes us so damn awesome. If the guy is sincere and serious about his app and is coming alone, drop the past mistakes he made over a year ago. Its over, whats done has been done, apparently he has out grown it and moved on. So should we. Thats what makes us the better guild by far in comparison to the rest.

Yes, we need fill-ins. I can't speak for Salmon but I sincerely doubt we need undergeared fill-ins. This guy's gear is exactly that of someone who did Naxx25, got a bunch of gear, and quit raiding.

He left with his friends, yes. Who he says are a bunch of jackasses. He was in guild for over a year by that time as well, so if he didn't know many people, why was he even in the guild in the first place?

I can say what happened - his group of friends got high-and-mighty and very needy, demanding raid spots and overall being a pain in the ass of the guild officers. We told them to pound sand, and they split.

My concern here is that he absolutely has guilt by association. He left with a group of assholes and now wants to come back because apparently the grass is not, in fact, greener on the other side. There are people who did the same in the past and got back into guild, but that involved a whole helluva lot more than just "sorry, my bad" and a guild application. Furthermore, his gear is lacking, and I won't speak for his skill but if it's anything like that of the HAX crew, his numbers would be quite lackluster as well. Combine that with the fact that he's a boomkin (which neither raid needs more of) and the fact that HE CAN ONLY RAID MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY -

That's right, he can only raid TWO nights a week. We don't have room in KB for him so his best bet would be Salmon, whom he could only raid with ONE night a week.

ONE NIGHT.

What do you expect to get out of Downfall membership?:
Green chat. A raid from time to time. Groups for dailys. A friend in you?

Looks to me like he's just wanting a good community. Again, I know I haven't been here long, but from what I have seen on others apps and what I know about my own, the community aspect of this guild was emphasized more than the raiding anyhow.

Just some food for thought.

Good post Potink. I agree, let's give the guy a chance. I don't recall him doing anything the others did. Also, we have had numerous people leave guild and come back, that is poor group to prevent anyone from joining.

So, Wildhax post, say what you will do if you are still wanting. I like to give second chances.

I remember the Hax crew. All I really remember about them though, is that they liked to do pvp together, and we raided with a couple.

What did they do in particular to rub people the wrong way? It would be nice to know the specifics so we can at least have it in the open instead of generic phrases such as "bad taste in our mouths," and "burned bridges."

And if its too offensive to post here or its inflamatory, you can whisper me in game too, I don't care either way, I'd just like to know.

I'm not really sure who it was that started what or said what, I am aware that Sparhax was a dick. Along with Lavahax, who is perpetually a dick.

At the time I was using Wildhax but started as Sylvenhax. I am not Blizz, He is a friend of mine, the only person from the 'HAX' crew that I talk to and the reason I was one in the first place. And to be honest, I'm not much of a PvP'er. I'm not here to start anything, I'm not all that into the drama nor do I even know what it was that started the fall-out in the first place. I will understand if you folks feel that this won't be a good fit. But if it is any consolation, it's just me, none of the other baggage.

Hey it says "Open Guild Apps" doesnt it? I guess using "app" for application is pretty widespread. But like I said I hate "char". It doesnt roll off the tongue. Why not use the word "toon".
