Making a Webpage?

So in my senior seminar class, we are making web pages which will basically function as an online portfolio. Including, resume, bio, photos etc. Our lab computers have dreamweaver 8 (or whatever it was when macromedia still owned it) I have the CS 4 version.
I was wondering if perhaps Garreth or someone else with knowledge of such things to point me in a direction of some tutorials or tips they could offer on getting started and making a well developed page with such resources.
(I have access to the whole Adobe suite) our lab computers also have a few other programs, fireworks or some shit idk i'll look when the professor isnt in here.
anyway any tips or good places you know for tutorials would be greatly appreciated!

garreth — Thu, 10/29/2009 - 12:40www.smashingmagazine.com for inspiration and www.tutsplus.com for good intermediate advice. And, HANDS DOWN, the place to start: http://www.w3schools.com/
To get you in the right mindset: HTML frames the house in lumber and CSS paints the walls.
Thanks G, I'll hit up those
