Re: Akrid - application closed

Unfortunately, given your drastic lack of gear, enchants, or pretty much anything that we need out of a raider right now, we'll have to pass on your application.

If you get nicely geared out and wish to reapply, please do so in the future, and I wish you luck.

Your talents are currently

Derchlon — Tue, 01/12/2010 - 12:24

Your talents are currently pvp oriented, and without dual spec, I'm forced to decline on any review on your behalf.  This is not a good start.

Put more effort into your toon.

Hello sir or madam, and

Aidin — Fri, 01/08/2010 - 09:09

Hello sir or madam, and welcome to the Dowfall recruitment process. If you fancy a quick invite, have thin skin, or like purps over people then don't waste your time reading what follows, just press on now.  If you are a skilled player, or even a player in need of a little molding, and you have time to dedicate to dead bosses, and to a community of people that do more together then play a video game, then here's a few things for you.

Recruitment Process

Step 1 Application : Well you've already completed this step by taking the time to complete our lengthy application.  Some think it's silly, we have documented proof that it easily weeds out the douchebags before wasting too much of our time.

Step 2 Who are you? : Type /join dfrecruit in game.  This will put you in our global chat channel for recruits.  You'll find lots of Downfall members in that channel often shouting for people for random heroics.  This will get your name out there, let people get to know you.  The more people you get to know, the more people will begin to comment on your application, and thus keep it "alive"

Until you start to get comments from those who excel in your class, or those who have nice/not so nice things to say about you as they get to know you, it's up to YOU to keep your application active, it's not just a matter of posting and never coming back, we are website oriented, get used to using it.

Step 3 Be There : Be online during raid times, its even better if you're on from start to finish, since people will DC mid raid.  If you're apping to raid, it's a long and gruelling process.  We DO need consistant skilled players for both 25 man raids, and you're not the only person trying to get that spot.  What we like to see is our apps posting on the raid events that they are available to fill in on a given night.  Then if you've posted that you're going to be on that night, make sure to shout our a reminder in dfrecruit just as raid is about to start just to let us know you're on. It may be weeks, it may be months before you see action, but you may end up with a spot the first time you join the recruit channel.

All questions regarding raid invite status for Kitten Brigade should be directed Zariyah in game, or alt Sainttaryn.

All questions regarding raid invite status for Salmon should be directed Ataraxia.

Please do not bother the other raid leaders, they have lots to do already.

Well that's what you can expect for the next few weeks/months.  We've had applicants that have waited over 3 months for an invite, we've invited people within a few days, every situation is different. So get you're name out there, get some comments, and good luck to you!

Hello, welcome to the application process. Zariyah/Aidin will be here soon with more information, but there's a few concerns that I have for you right outright -

1)  You are *way* over the hit cap - effective hit cap for you is a rating of 263, you're at 359.

2)  You are using a lot of very poor-quality gear by comparison to what is readily available.  7 items below iLevel 232, including your weapon, all need replacing.

3)  All your gems are of the cheap variety, no helm enchant, no shoulder enchant, no cloak enchant, no chest enchant, cheap gloves enchant, no boots enchant, and no weapon enchant.

4)  NO PROFESSIONS.

5)  No dual spec.

6)  No experience in the important 25man raids.

This application just SCREAMS cheap.  You need to put a lot more time and effort into your toon before you can seriously expect to see much raiding.

Yes I understand what your saying, this guy is currently getting geared atm i did all the raids that could possibly do a week i do 25 ToC, 25 Ony, and lower. this guy i just did Recruit a Friend on not to long ago and i powered lvled him i will work on my professions ASAP. My Main and first character is my Prot pally. And as u can see this guy has only been played for like 2 days played time so i got him geared fast and i plan to keep doin it until my gear gets better. And i will enchant everything ASAP as well. Just alittle broke with gold right now. And i can't get rid of this crappy crossbow im trying to do Heroic Pit of Saron to get that one. I'm on everyday so i will try my best to get geared.

Thanx for answering.

Steady Shot glyph isn't

Aeolyn — Fri, 01/08/2010 - 17:28

Steady Shot glyph isn't optimal at all without a crapload armor pen.

I'd say to glyph Explosive (which you have), Serpent Sting, and Kill Shot. The feign one as a minor is nice too.

You save -so- many globals with the Serpent Sting glyph that you need it. Seriously.

The fact that you didn't take Noxious Stings in a Surv build frankly worries me. You skipped Wyvern Sting too which isn't super useful to a PVE Hunter when raiding I will admit; but it is nice as a ghetto spell interrupt in stuff like Faction Champions.

The spec really needs some work. Rapid Killing really isn't going to serve you terribly well in this sort of environment. Axe the points there and remove one from either Expose Weakness or Resourcefulness. Frankly you could take a point out of both of them and be fine.

A lot of Hunters with the tier9 2-piece bonus are only putting a single point into Expose Weakness now because the crits of Serpent Sting tics can reapply the buff.

Likewise, 3 points in Resourcefulness doesn't mesh well with Lock & Load's internal cooldown.

This is all pretty heavily documented onthe EJ forums or even sticky topics on the official Hunter forums. You really must know your talents and spec if you're going to be all you can be. And the fact that you are losing a constant 3% damage by not having Noxious Stings shows me you don't.

I'm sure you're a nice guy and can improve. But I'd like to be ensured that you know what you're doing. Sorry if this came off as overly harsh.
