U.S. Spies Want to Find Terrorists in World of Warcraft

Though the article isn't exactly about the Government sending Night Elf
spies to find Osama Bin Laden's Orc counterpart, it is an interesting article.
From what I could understand is a Congress bill was passed to start learning
more about online communities, how they react, work, etc. Then from that they
can then establish a way to red-flag in-game terrorist plotting. Though, why
waste the money? I can almost be completely sure there are more pedophiles in
MMOs then there are Terrorist. Well, this would explain why no one can find
Osama Bin Laden; he's too busy trying to kill Illidan. "You are not prepared".
Now the core route of this project is interesting. How does a virtual world
differ from a real world (besides to lack of females)? It will be interesting
to see the public results but honestly, I have to conclude this gets an F for
use of government funds.

About there being more women
starstalker — Thu, 02/28/2008 - 17:21About there being more women than men Ewiges, from the census bureau:
In
2000, 50.9 percent of the US population was female, and 49.1 percent
was male. That's 143 million females and 138 million males, or about 96
men for every 100 women.
However, the ratio of men to women
varied significantly by age group. There were about 105 males for every
100 females under 25 in 2000, reflecting the fact that more boys than
girls are born every year and that boys continue to outnumber girls
through early childhood and young adulthood. However, the male-female
ratio declines as people age. For men and women aged 25 to 54, the
number of men for each 100 women in 2000 was 99. Among older adults,
the male-female ratio continued to fall rapidly, as women increasingly
outnumbered men. For people 55 to 64, the male-female ratio was 92 to
100, but for those 85 and over, there were only 41 men for every 100
women.
Geographically,
2000 saw the same patterns for male-female ratios as 1990. The West overall had the highest male-female ratio at 99.6, approaching
a near balance between the sexes.

Yes Starstalker, I am sure
Ewiges — Thu, 02/28/2008 - 18:04Yes Starstalker, I am sure that is true. But the real world is far different that the virtual world where I am sure most people can agree (thought this Congress bill will allow the funding to proove) that the majority are male gamers. (players, atheletes, socializer; whatever you call us)
