dmg meters and aggro

Epatrick — Thu, 02/28/2008 - 03:40

so, I thought I'd share why as destro the RoS fight is easymode.  having a felhunter out to eat the runeshield gimps my dmg...a lot, therefore no aggro worries. in phase 1 I spend ten seconds of dps watching the rogues tanking in case they get low and need a SS.  phase 3 I'm so badly geared compared to the rest of the casters that I could probably dps without salv and still not worry about aggro.  don't know what I'm going to do about my gear/dmg, I almost feel like I'm holding the raid back.

Tailors have a gear

Dikymo — Sun, 03/02/2008 - 14:24

Tailors have a gear advantage till t6. Especially for locks. T5 is garbage, and the set bonuses are dumb. You are doing just fine. If your "hurting the raid" statement is based on a boss where you are at a disadvantage thats hardly fair. I have looked over the parses and I dont see the problem. Is there something else bothering you?

Hey Pat,

I know what you mean, but on RoS in particular, just doing our jobs right makes a big difference regardless of how much dps we do.  Keeping CoT and other curses up, eating debuffs with the FH, healing ourselves so the healers don't have to all contribute to the success of the raid as a whole on that fight.

All I would mention, Pat, is two things:

1)  There's more to raiding than being the top of the meters.  You'll never hold us back, buddy.

2)  Me 'n you discussed this, and I feel it is appropriate to post a snippet of it here.  I would hope that as we start seeing more gear drop, that people who have won BT/MH gear and gemmed/enchanted it up would pass on same-slot items if they would replace a gemmed piece of gear.

That is to say, if I had gotten non-T6 shoulders and slapped a pair of crimson spinels in them, I would pass on T6 for a period of time until others have them, or have equivalent.  That way, the gear isn't "wasted" (a minor upgrade vs. a large upgrade) and the gems aren't wasted either.

It should go without saying, but I feel it's worth reiterating.

2 324 604 for the entire night, x62% Presence (Was on Pudolski), this is an extra 38% which equivalates to about an extra 1,000,000 damage - which places you very high in the Top 10.

Not really holding the raid back.

Your plenty geared and do

Disrupter — Thu, 02/28/2008 - 04:19

Your plenty geared and do your job damned well. Quit being emo and make me a healthstone!

But seriously, you do your job and get it done what more could we ask? Oh, I know, BEAR MOUNTZ PLX! <3

Just because your not sporting full tier 6 doesn't mean your not beneficial to the raid. You have your stuff, it's fully enchanted and gemmed, fully flasked/consumables putting out as much dps as you can.

Just give it maybe a month and you'll get a couple more items with high + hit on it that'll allow you to ditch some of that karazahn hit gear. Sucks needing 16 freaking % to hit.
