Bane of the Lich King
Pelana — Wed, 01/12/2011 - 01:58
So Starra and I were curious to see if there would be enough interest to set up a group to kill heroic Lich King 10 man sometime for a sexy new title. The 30% buff appears to still be around so most of the instance should be cake if everyone remembers the fights.
Anyone else want to see him dead?
Abilities:
Corrupted Blood Mechanics:
- Corrupted Blood - Increases damage taken from Corruption of the Old Gods by 2%, stacks to 100
- Corruption: Accelerated - Causes 2 stacks of Corrupted Blood per second for 1 minute, gained at 25% corruption, magic dispellable
- Corruption: Sickness - Causes you to vomit and inflict 40K shadow damage to allies in a 5 yard frontal cone also causing corruption for them, occurs at 50% corruption
- Corruption: Malformation - A malformation grows out of your back shooting shadowbolts at nearby players, occurs at 75% corruption
- Corruption: Abosolute - At 100%, you transform into a faceless one, recieve 100% less healing, but gain 100% more damage and all spell casts become instant.
Corrupted Blood Gains:
- Dark Sickness - 5
- Accelerated Corruption - 2 per second
- Sprayed Corruption - 5 per 2 second
- Spilled Blood of the Old God - 5 per second
- Congealed Blood of the Old God - 2 per hit
- Corrupting Crash - 10
- Depravity - 10
- Festering Blood - 5
- Debilitating Beam - 2 per second
- Corruption of the Old God - 1 per tick
Phase 1 (100-25%)
- Conversion - Causes target to channel Worshipping spell on him gaining Twisted Devotion stacks every 3 seconds, Worshipping is interruptable
- Twisted Devotion - Increases damage done by 10% for 20 seconds
- Flame's Orders - Adds 20K fire damage to each melee swing and spawns fire patches
- Shadow's Orders - Adds shadow damage aoe to each melee swing
- Fury of Cho'gall - Blasts primary target for 30K shadow and 30K physical damage and increases damage taken by shadow and physical by 20% for 45 seconds
- Summon Corrupting Adherant - Summons adds
- Fester Blood - Spawns 5 Congealed Blood of the Old God from each dead Corrupting Adherant, and causes Corrupting Adherants to gain a massive raid wiping AoE, casts about 30 seconds after summoned
Corrupting Adherant (1.7M / 4.98M HP)
- Depravity - Inflicts 22K shadow damage to enemies within 50K yards and applies Corrupted Blood, 1.5 cast, interuptable
- Sprayed Corruption - Inflicts 35K shadow damage in frontal cone and applies Corrupted Blood
- Corrupting Crash - Fires shadow missile at target dealing 45K shadow damage to all enemies near impact, applies Corrupted Blood
- Spilled Blood of the Old God - When killed, leaves puddle that inflicts 15K shadow damage to all that stand in them and applies Corrupted Blood
- Festering Blood - If Fester Blood buffs them, inflicts 45K shadow damage every 2 seconds and applies Corrupted Blood
Congealed Blood of the Old God (75K / 300K HP)
- Untankable
- Snared and Rootable
- Applies Corrupted Blood per melee hit
Phase 2 (25% - 0%):
- Fury of Cho'gall - Same as above
- Corruption of the Old God - Inflicts 5K shadow damage every 2 seconds to everyone in the room
- Darkened Creations - Summons 4 of them
Darkened Creations (166K HP)
- Debilitating Beam - Target reduces healing and damage done by 75%, inflicts 5K shadow damage per second gaining Corrupted Blood, lasted 10 seconds, not dispellable.
Notes:
- Pay attention to your insanity, um corruption
- Note the different states of it
- Magic dispel ASAP at 25% (or you corrupt faster)
- GTFO away from people at 50% (or you vomit on them)
- GTFO away from people at 25% (or you aoe shadowbolt them)
- Though at 100% you have one last hurrah at massive DPS before you die
Phase 1:
- Interrupt the worshipping
- Don't stand in fire
- Adherants are Faceless one that are summoned
- They do shadow crashes and frontal cone damage that's interruptable
- Let ranged finish them off as they also leave a void zone on death
- Fester Blood is cast 30 seconds after Adherant
- If alive, Adherant gains massive shadow aoe likely raid wiper
- If dead, spawns 5 oozes that you have to kite around (and kill), if hit, you get corrupted
- Fury of Cho'gall, that sounds like it might neccessitate tank swaps
Phase 2:
- Shadow damage aura now which also corrupts your blood
- Tentacles spawn that shoot beams at you which lowers your damage and healing, and corrupts your blood, kill those
- Basically seems like dps burn time before you're all corrupted
Ascendant Council
saedo — Thu, 12/09/2010 - 13:54
Abilities:
Phase 1:
Feldudius
- Heart of Ice - Grips target dealing increasing frost damage every 2 seconds (2K, 4K, etc). Magic dispellable, but when near allies, empowers them with Frost Energy allowing additional damage to Ignacious
- Hydrolance - 50K frost damage to random target
- Waterbomb - 10K frost damage to enemies within 6 yards, applies Waterlogged
- Waterlogged - Reduces movement speed by 25%, susceptible to certain frost based attacks, removed by exposing to flame
- Glaciate - Deals massive frost damage to nearby enemies, decreases with distance, those with Waterlogged will gain Frozen Blood
- Frozen Blood - Freezes enemy solid stunning and dealing 20K frost damage per 2 seconds for 10 seconds.
Ignacious
- Burning Blood - Deals increasing (2K, 4K, etc) fire damage to enemy. Magic dispellable, but nearby enemies empowered with fire energy dealing additional damage to Feldudius
- Aegis of Flame - Shield that absorbs 1M damage and prevents spell interruption
- Rising Flames - Deals increasing fire damage to every player until interrupted, used after above
- Flame Torrent - Inflicts 39K fire damage every second for 3 seconds in 18 yard frontal cone
- Inferno Leap - Leaps at enemy doing 25K fire damage and knocking back all nearby enemies
- Inferno Rush - Rushes back to primary target leaving trail of flame doing 5K fire damage per 0.5 sec, removes Waterlogged
Phase 2:
Arion
- Call Winds - Creates cyclones that do 7K nature damage and gives swirling winds debuff lifting them in the air
- Lightning Rod - Marks enemy to attract electrical attacks, target of Chain Lightning
- Chain Lightning - Fires blast of lightning to all those marked dealing 10K nature damage and bounces to nearby targets
- Disperse - Dissolves and reappears elsewhere in the room
- Lightning Blast - Hits tank for 80K nature damage, used after above
- Thundershock - Deals 150K nature damge to nearby enemies, less effective against grounded targets, more effective against airborne targets
Terrastra
- Gravity Well - Creates well that grounds you granting resistance to electrical attacks for 2 mins, or if lifted up into the air
- Gravity Core - Applied when in Gravity Well, does 10K physical damage every 2 sec for 10 sec, also hinders movement and actions of nearby allies
- Harden Skin - Inreases physical damage dealt by 100% and absorbing 50% of all damage taken up to 650K, when breaks barrier shatters wounding him
- Eruption - Fires spike through floor impaling all within 4 yards doing 50K damage and knocking them into the air, ignores armor
- Quake - Deals 150K damage to all enemies on the ground, more effective against grounded targets, need to be in the air via boss mechanics
Phase 3:
Elementium Monstrosity
- Lava Seed - Showers area with Lava Plumes that erupts dealing 40K fire damage to nearby enemies
- Liquid Ice - Freezes ground underneath which grows as long as the boss stands in it doing Frost damage to enemies in the area
- Electric Instability - Constant nature damage to random enemies doing 6K nature damage, and increases in damage as the fight goes on
- Gravity Crush - Traps enemy in bubble lifting up into air taking 10% of their hp every 0.5 sec for 6 seconds, then drops them for fall damage
Notes:
- General concept is 2 bosses in P1, 2 different bosses in P2, then 1 final one
- When any 1 of the bosses in each phase (1 and 2) reaches 25% hp, the next phase is triggered
- In phase 3, the Elementium Monstrosity is the merged form of all 4 bosses with their remaining hp combined
- Therefore, ideally in each phase, you want to get both bosses as close to 25% as possible to reduced P3 boss' health
Phase 1:
- Split ranged on Feldudius (ice) and melee on Ignacious (fire)
- Glaciate is a aoe tanks have to run out of to reduce damage
- Waterlogged is a debuff you RUN INTO FIRE to remove, else you'll be frozen for 10 sec when Glaciate hits
- Aegis of Flame and Rising Flames is a combo, burn the shield ASAP and interrupt the cast
Phase 2:
- Split ranged on Arion (air) and melee on Terristra (earth)
- Main thing on this phase is 2 raid killing abilities each have
- For Thundershock, run into the void zone looking Gravity Wells
- For Quake, run into the tornados
- Don't have to do it all at once, just time yourself to get it before the cast finishes
- Other thing is, whoever gets (yellow) marked, stay away from everyone
Phase 3:
- Tank and spank burn phase
- Don't stand in stuff
- Ice patches are the new defile, except grows if the boss stands in them

Air:
- Twilight Meteorite - Random debuff on player doing 120K shadow damage, split among all within 8 yards
- Deep Breath - Inflicts 15K shadow damage per second and sends target into Twilight Realm
Theralion:
Ground:

Air:
- Dazzling Destruction - Swirly void zones that do 500K shadow damage to all within
- Twilight Blast - Inflicts 20K shadow damage to enemies within 8 yards of target
Notes:
- Double Dragons, shared HP and threat, no resets, no cleaves, no tail lashes
- Alternates with each other one in air one on ground every 25%
- You see each phase twice.
Valiona Phase
- Starts with this one, stay spread out for Twilight Blast, random target aoe
- Stay close to boss run through for Devouring Flames (think Slime Spray but deadlier)
- Group up for Blackout, then dispel, absorb meteor explosion, then spread out again
- Dazzling Destruction are giant swirly void zones to not stand in, will kill on impact, or send you to Twilight Realm when touched
Theralion Phase
- Stack up tight, Twilight Meteorite will be the random aoe damage and it is a meteor
- Fabulous Flames create giant void zones to not stand in
- Engulfing Magic targets run the hell away from everyone to not kill us all
- Valiona will also occassionaly Deep Breath, just like Onyxia did
- There are 3 lanes she can set fire too with the breath
- If you survive being hit, sends you to the Twilight Realm
Twilight Realm
- In here, you're out of phase, but can attack boss and see everyone
- You gain a stacking DoT that attempts to kill you
- Adds all around that want to kill you
- Damage from the outside still can kill you
- Supposedly a portal will eventually appear to kill you, er, let you out
- Assuming you survive that long, otherwise, assume you're dead
Halfus Wyrmbreaker
saedo — Mon, 12/06/2010 - 14:22
Warning, it's undergone several revisions on beta so unsure what we'll see on live yet.
Abilities:
Halfus Wyrmbreaker
- Bind Will - Forces a dragon to obey his commands
- Dragon's Vengeance - Halfus takes 50% increased damage from all sources, stacks
Proto-Behemoth
- Fireball Barrage - Does 30K fire damage to enemies in an area
Notes:
- The fight centers around drakes giving abilities, and of the 5 drakes, 3 are active per week
- Random, so each week you'd have a new combination with new challenges to the fight
- You get a choice of which drakes to release, and subsequently kill.
- Each drake tends to give a raid wide debuff and or buff to Halfus
- When killed, they go away or lose some effectiveness or you gain some buff
- Also, when each are killed, they give Halfus stacking 50% damage taken debuff
- The Proto-Behemoth is just flying raid damage, not worth killing
- Constantly casts fireballs, spread out until you can kill the Time Warden (if up), after which you they slow down enough to see where they land to dodge
- Other than Drakes, tank and spank
- At 30%, he goes into constant whirlwind mode. Random target but tauntable for a while. Ranged burn asap. Slate Dragon stuns still apply to him.
The Drakes
Nether Scion
- Applies 100% attack speed buff to Halfus, gone when killed
- Gives raid-wide debuff reducing hit by 15%, attack speed by 15%, and damage by 25%, lasts till killed, applied on Halfus then (confirm?)
Time Warden
- When killed, slows down the speed of Proto-Behemoth's fireballs, allowing them to be dodged easily.
- Heroic version roots everyone in place when controlled (maybe normal?)
Slate Dragon
- Gives Halfus, Malevolent Strikes - Reduces effectiveness of healing on target by 5%, stacks
- Furious Roar - Inflicts 10K physical damage to all enemies knocking them to the ground, 1.5 sec cast every 8-10 seconds, and should reduce damage taken by 100% for duration (confirm?)
- When stuns fades, Halfus recieves the stun and gets increased damage taken, for rest of the fight when killed
Orphaned Emerald Whelps
- Gives the Proto-Behemoth, Scorching Breath - Breaths flame in front of caster doing 9K fire damage
- Raid wide debuff reducing all damage done by 2000.
Storm Rider
- Raid wide debuff that interrupts spell casts every 0.5 seconds (use instants only).
- Gives Shadow Nova buff to Halfus, allows him to cast aoe knockback, 0.3 second cast, interruptable
- When killed, cast goes up to 4.5 second
Bastion of Twilight
saedo — Mon, 12/06/2010 - 12:55
One of the 3 entry level dungeons released for Cataclysm. Entrance is found by flying to the top of the Bastion of Twilight itself in Twilight Highlands. End boss is Cho'gall. With a special appearance by Sinestra on heroic mode only (after killing heroic Cho'gall).
Abilities:
Phase 1 (while Onyxia lives):
Onyxia (starts alone):
- Electric Discharge - When the orbs glows, inflicts 20K nature damage per second to enemies on her sides, increased by Lightning Charge level, can be line of sighted
- Shadowflame Breath - Inflicts 35K shadowflame damage in a frontal cone every 0.5 sec for 1.5 sec, also ressurects Animated Bone Warriors in the aoe.
- Cleave - 110% normal melee damage to enemy and nearest allies
- Tail Lash - Sweeping tail strike hits all behind for 18K damage and stuns for 2 seconds
- Children of Deathwing - Nefarian and Onyxia attack 100% faster if they are within 60 yards of each other
Nefarian (appears 30 seconds later):
- Hail of Bones - Cast 6 times before landing, spawning an Animated Bone Warrior and doing 25K shadow damage to nearby enemies
- Shadowflame Breath, Cleave, Tail Lash, Children of Deathwing - Same as above
Nefarian's Lightning Machine (activates if Nefarian is dps'd):
- Electrocute - Genrates massive bolt of lightning that strikes the ground, inflicts 105K nature damage to all enemy targets
Animated Bone Warrior (starts at 100 energy, depletes and inactive at 0)
- Animate Bones - Shadowflame energy animates these bones, takes 2 energy per second
- Empowering Strikes - Melee and ranged attacks empower caster, increasing damage dealt by 100%, stacks
Phase 2 (3 minutes or Chromatic Prototype's deaths):
Lava
- Magma - Deals 5K fire damage per second, increases damage taken from magma by 2000, stacks
Nefarian
- Shadowflame Barrage - 25K shadow damage to an enemy
- Shadow of Cowardice - Inflicts 30K shadowflame damge to enemy and increases shadow damage taken by 100%
Chromatic Prototype (does not melee)
- Blast Nova - Does 15K fire damage to all enemies every 2 seconds for 30 seconds, interruptable
Phase 3:
Nefarian
- Cleave, Tail Lash, Shadowflame Breath - Same as before
- Shadowblaze Spark - Creates shadowy blaze at nearby location, expands in circular form and follows players and speeds up if touched.
- Shadowblaze - Inflicts 50K shadowflame damage to all in it, resurrects Animated Bone Warriors
Animated Bone Warriors
- Animate Bones, Empowering Strikes - Same as before
Notes:
Phase 1:
- Onyxia starts alone, phase ends when killed
- Standard dragon positions, no stand in front or back
- Electrical Discharge will shoot lightning from her sides, can be line of sighted
- Nefarian will spawn 6 Animated Bone Warriors for you, kite those (undead CC'able too)
- Too much hp to burn, and the become inactive over time
- But revived if hit by shadowflames, so keep them away from those frontal cones
- 30 seconds in, Nefarian lands, tank him 60+ yards away or both get a 100% haste buff
- If Nefarian is dps'd during this phase, occasionally Electrocutes everyone, 100K aoe damage to heal through
Phase 2:
- When Onyxia dies, Nefarian flies up and the room fills with lava
- Get to a pillar swim up and jump out of it
- Divide the raid in 3, each pillar will have a Chromatic Prototype on it, doesn't need tanks
- This phase Nefarian just random blasts the raid
- Meanwhile, each of your teams kill the Chromatic Prototype on their pillar
- Does constant blast waves, interruptable
- Phase ends in 3 minutes or when all Chromatic Prototypes die
Phase 3:
- Lava goes away, and he lands, similar to phase 1 again
- Except, there's now shadowblaze, a purple fire that grows and follows players
- Think Mimiron hard mode fires but way faster, and growing outwards in a circlular fashion
- They also revive the Animated Bone Warriors when the fire inevitiably hits them
- Deal with them the same way, kite/CC til inactive again, if you're able to keep away from fire that long
