Ok here is Mouse over Macro Stuff
Ok so I
see your reference "I agree that mouse-over macros probably would be a
better technique than using grid in some cases" and I wanted to make
clear that Mouse over Macro's in no way means you stop using grid in
fact I feel using both together is the perfect marrage........

here is my two cents on the whole subject..... (boy I am always giving
out my "Two Cents" a lot lately no wonder I am terminally Broke!!!!
No matter how you split it.... Your going to be using Keys in your
healing.... Whether you use - Healbot, Clique & Grid, (there are a
few others).... Still involves Keying in often combined with clicking a
frame. No matter how you look at it it is more difficult then Mousing
over and key spamming..... Not saying you can't come across as
incredible doing it another way but just in terms of pure executed
actions I would still have to say mouse overs are more effective (talk
DAMMIT KEYBOARD RAN OUT OF BATTERIES MID SENTENCE
I would also like to add that I feel you need to kind of choose Holy
or disc and gear/Gem seperately --- What might be considered BIS for one
spec I can tell is not for the other....

i know that now. thats what i was experimenting with when i had first applied to DF, but was slowing learning u can't completely be Disc n' Holy in the same set of gear. So i started leaning more about Disc and I am sure that i'll stick with it. At least till i get a chance to have a second off set for holy. I never mind full filling the needs of raid healer or Disc Healing.
Thank you again for the good mouse over macro. I'll toy with it a little and see where it takes me. I may or may not stick with mouse over macros but it'll be something i'll have to get the feel of. I did read up on the article you posted about mouse over spells. Some of it seems a little if'ish to me. i Currently have no issues what so ever to using grid/clique, but i do feel if i don't take a chance to learn mouse over i might be over looking something thats way to useful later on.

I am not by nature a mean person. but their are times in trade chat when i see people posting silly, immature post and i follow in suit and play a long with them. As it is trade chat i never get emo and take things personally, to me its all just fun n games, i know i'm no perfect angel and i more than often go out of my way to help others. now u might wanna say i have a mouth in trade chat. sure. but the things i don't do is ninja loot, ninja GKP's, or go out of my way to be a major prick in less i am put on the spot to be one.

Praetahim — Mon, 08/16/2010 - 22:03i never closed my app but never got a reply. as i do have a few friends in DF i do try to be persistent with getting what i want. i never deleted my first app, but than again i didn't even know people were commenting on it either. i just submitted it and thought i'd get a reply in game or via email and that was that. after talking to Celebra she informed me to keep taps on my app and keep reapplying if i really want in. so i guess even if this app gets deleted i'll have to fallow up with a 3rd or even 4th. lol, after all if we all just gave up on what we want would anyone clear any content?

Praetahim — Mon, 08/16/2010 - 23:06As i've stated in other post i wasn't aware anyone was replying to my app. i do apologize for not responding. it wasn't that i didn't care i just wasn't informed about the threads on apps. i have looked over the details about malto's comments on my gear and spec. at the time of my first app i wasn't sure if i was going to be used as more holy or more disc and now it seems that i'm falling in love with being disc. with that said i've also adjusted my gear to be much more based on haste so i have quicker shields, renew, and etc. i also caught the comment about my cape enchant and switched that off to 32 haste. i am more than sure if i wanted or needed to go holy i could with ease, and changing some gems around but till i feel i am needed as a full raid healer i'm more than happy as disc for now. i would like to apologize personally to Malto for no seeing his post and any others that might have commented on my gear, n spec. no matter wat the out come of my DF app i can say i've learned a lot about raid bosses and even a lot properly gemming and enchants towards priest. Thank you again guys and can only hope things can be better between us in the future.

I do not agree with gemming pure haste by any means and gemming pure spirit is a mistake I have made in the past.....
You need to run your toon Thru Rawr to see the effective loss in Thru put as a result of gemming Pure Spirit compared to SP/Spirit...
Also gemming pure haste is big no no..... SP/Haste and this is only if haste is truely beneficial for you but as a Disc Priest I am not sure that this is the case......... I mean let's just pencil out the losses you are occuring here.
+20 haste in 8 Gem slots......... Take a look at a http://www.wowhead.com/item=40155/reckless-ametrine which has +12 Spell Power and +10 Haste Rating ....... So even if it were correct to gem for so much haste as a Disc priest (which I believe is not the case at all) you gain in spell cast speed definately does not out weigh your loss in SP....

Now I know some priest gem full haste in slots but I simply don't agree with this ....... and for a disc priest I believe gemming SP/Intell is more important

One note on sp/haste over sp/int. To some degree whether you gem for int depends on whether or not you're having mana issues. At a low level on my disc priest I was gemming pure int (as, I believe, int provides the greatest mana regen for a disc priest). More recently I've started gemming sp / int as I have an over 30k mana pool when buffed and I pretty much never had mana trouble (so long as I was properly using mana cooldowns like HoH, shadowfiend, mana pots, etc).
Although being "int capped" isn't commonly talked about, it does seem possible for a disc priest. It's not that your mana pool doesn't keep getting bigger, but if you have 10k mana left at the end of every fight you are effectively not getting much added benefit from the stat, you'd do more throughput if you gemmed spellpower, crit, or haste (and probably some combination of these stats).
I have noticed that there are some times that the reduced GCD from more haste is way helpful for keeping your "bubble finger" moving quickly...but this is probably pretty fight dependent.
I'm not making the argument that you should ignore int gems all together, I'm just saying that there's probably a happy medium (for most stats, sp, haste, crit, int--all of them) and that gemming for a disc priest is quite dependent on your gear level and play style.
Resqtoaster may correct all of this. But those are my thoughts.
