Tools to better our ability to play? If you don't make use of tools that help improve you then how can you say you give your very best?

Now giving, it takes a lot of effort to properly setup a good ui, and well what I had before my hard drive crash was 1000x better than what I'm left with at this moment, its a work in progress and many things are going to get smoother and smoother as I slowly work on it.

If any of you wonder about keybindings most of it is all bound to a logitech G13 Gaming Pad, And not I'm not a macroer that presses one button and eats a samwich, (yes this device can do that effectively) I just have learned to love having complete keymaping.

Names Marshall, I've been playing WoW on a semi casual basis sense I believe 2005. Started with my cousin. Love the game, enjoy the social aspect even more. I'm a high school grad who plans to join the Air force. Life is but a collection of our actions, and interactions with the people that speed by. I'm a true believer in getting to know people, and having good conversations =)
Not sure what more to say, I'm a pretty pretty flower...Well not really, just love to laugh, talk and work together as a team. I hate people that defend laziness and downright unwillingness to adapt.

Experience, I really have to say, my low hours played on this char is just because I swapped over to him, in total I have well over 200+ days played. Which really is pretty sad, but I enjoyed the time so I can't complain.

Thoriun has been very impressive the last two nights I have raided with him in Salmon. I have yet to see his dps on a boss where he can really cut loose and just dps. But on bosses that have a heavy movement and intelligence checks he has done extremely well at not dying to stupid shit, while still pumping out some good numbers. This is an app Downfall and especially Salmon should heavily consider.

So I've been slowly trying to figure out how I want to really maximize my dps. What I've decided would be best is a situational macro. And overall I'd love to hear what the hunter community thinks!

So what that does.

Basically on any given boss fight if I select my one set of keybindings (logitech G-13) and this macro is one of the keys, what it does is firstly will attack my focus with Chimera shot. If no focus is set or meets attackable requirements, then it will cast Chimera Shot on my actual target.

Classical application.

So why you might ask? Well simple, on fights like deathwhisper I can be killing adds, and aslong as I'm inrange of the boss Serpent sting "shouldn't" ever fall off. Meaning maximized deeps and more effective mana usage.

But theres a draw back here. It means when I'm attacking an add that I'll be killing them at a slower pace. So in the end I don't think this will be used alot. But can be very useful for other things. Take silencing shot. If I'm to always Counterspell a target, (I'd need seperate cast bars maybe one for my focus) this would mean if its set in this macro that I can be killing one guy, and counterspelling the other at the sametime!

To the end of it all. What macros are you guys using? Anything that I'm missing out on? I've got a classic MD macro to focus, but I think I'll just adjust the field to maybe mouse over for my raid frames. Or even just the actual tank's name.

Icc 25man Heroic. More numbers! Look me over! Yell at me for my faults! Or at least point them out so I can fix them!

As to the raid. Man I've read up on all Heroic fights, watched quite a few Youtube videos. But some of that is much more fun when your at the controls!

Sure we wiped 7 times on sindra, BUT we improved, and I had a hell of a lot of fun! Also I'm proud to say I never once messed up the ice tombs! Now hopefully with more practice she'll be eating the dirt!

Yet another interesting encounter in ICC 10man. Attempt quite a few Hardmodes...but overall not a swell group. Mana issues throughout the whole instance. Arg! I missed judgement of wisdom soooo much! Anyhoo. Numbers numbers!

#1, too much mix and matching with your gems. Either you gem completely for Arp (+ a gem to activate your meta), gem for Agi (+ a gem to activate your meta), or gem for socket bonuses(which is not max dps). You're also taking socket bonuses for some most of your armor(8 agi to legs, 6 agi to belt, 6 agi to boot, 8 ap to ring), but you don't take for others ( 4 agi to cloak, 6 agi to chest, 4 agi to bracers, 4 agi to ring).

#2, parse on ignis: Shouldn't be using arcane shot. Not even twice. In fact, you used it 29 times over the night. You should NOT be using it unless you speced into imp arcane shot, and even then, your gear now allows you to not even use it in your rotation. You should be spamming steady shot when the rest of your instances are on cooldown.

Thats all I have time to check for now, will check on other things later.

1# I agree in a sense, BUT Femaledwarf.com is showing what I have now as being more effective than as you say, either set bonus' or agi, or ArP. Going off just my view I should be going pure Agi, but again the spreadsheets are showing different, sure its a small difference maybe 20-50dps difference but its showing the way I have it in the positive.

2# I use Arcane shot on the run, As in Ignis Punts you in the air, do I do nothing? Or do I click something thats just a global CD thats open as I fly through the air? If you watch my play, when I'm moving I'm arcaneshoting (IF chimera and Aimed Shot are on CD)

I'm suprised that I hit 29 times, but again compared to the % of shots fired its like 1% which is explainable to the movment factor, I try and maximize my damage in which ever way I can. At my current gear level I'm in between ArP and Agi, I don't know personally which is better which is why I'm relying completely on spreadsheets.

But I don't want this to be seen as not taking advice, if you still think that I should be geming as a standard as Agi then explain it to me, I'm more than willing to listen, but I'm having a program designed to calculate damage saying that what I have now is more effective.

My socket choices are firstly based off weight of value of stat, which shows why sockets requiring blue gems aren't chosen, and secondly are shown to be accurate via femaledwarf.com, you say that its less dps, and I'm not arguing with you, I just would love a more indepth reason? Why is femaledwarf and other spreadsheets saying that yellow sockets at my current gear level net a small yet higher damage output?

about 800 arp on gear alone is when you should make the gem switch to arp from agi. You're close to that point. At this point I would honestally start makeing the switch as you replace gems just to save gold.

I;d say your about 60 arp on gear alone from makeing the full switch to arp marks.

See what I never understood was the whole idea that at one point in your gear your all AGI. Then when you get x amount of ARP you gem fully ARP. The idea holds true in a broad sense, but the way I'm looking at it, is its more of a flow to ARP. If I socketed all one or the other I'm not as "high" on potental dps as if I swap only some AGI gems to ARP.

Than again spreadsheets are never perfect. But I think they're more than useful! Hopefully with the new bracers / bow I'll be pulling a bit more deeps. I'd like to be able to fully pull my weight.

I think it really is a fine line, and my goal and aditude is to present myself as open to suggestions and information, but not just blindly open I want to understand and get the idea behind any suggestions. If I'm wrong then thats fine, it only costs a few 100g to fix gems. But I really aim to understand the reasoning behind any changes so that I can make the correct choice later on.

I neither want to argue nor blindly follow suit and thats why I try very hard to stay on the find line between following any view, and being shut in from ideas. If I'm open but understanding it helps any community as a whole to have people that learn, but not just learn what was wrong but more over "why."

Also I'm glad to see I'm not coming off as a bullheaded jerk thanks Scaron, Capinbill, and Ardea.
