I'm cool with a ginvite on this basis. You will need to recognize that you'll have to spend a bit more time on the theorycrafting and working on improving to secure a raid spot, but those are all things that I (or other locks in guild) will be happy to help out with from time to time.
So, I'll vote yes.

After spending much time with this individual I notice that he is a very friendly person. It's easy to talk to him and a very nice person. From seeing his time spent hunting, he is a very motivated person to spend a lot of time for something that he wants. This is important to me cause it shows that he's patient and willing to put in time whether it be difficult or not.
I'd hope some warlocks speak with this player ... Scaron or anyone :P and see what they think.

tweaks — Sun, 02/06/2011 - 10:16Well, I used to do Karazhan runs on my Feral druid when I was in the guild for alt raid runs or if in general the druid was preferred over the warlock, I believe ZA was another raid that my druid helped out with Zul'Aman, I think those were the only raids my druid was involved in with this guild, I also helped other guild members using him, like tanking instances for leveling up or for gear or just out in the world somewhere.

tweaks — Sun, 02/06/2011 - 06:19Pardon the delay in my response, my boss took off this week and I had to do his shift, which is a rough one.
I've already made some improvments since that raid, however I am still a ways off I'd say. At the time I was still getting my spell priorites under muscle memory, I had no major problems with it, however, on occasion I'd find myself hitting the wrong spell, I have that under control now. as per gear, I nixed the things that were slowing me down or reforged them to a more favorable setup, I need to get an enchant for the head slot to increase DPS, in which I am in the process of getting the rep I need to buy it. Improvements I made so far are, I leveled my engineering up and built an epic for my head, I put some cogwheels in it, replaced some gems on other items, and did some more heroics to get more gear, I am still working on getting to the 17% hit cap.

Scaron — Sat, 01/22/2011 - 18:24It's been 2 weeks. You've made some positive moves, and I still think you have a bunch more to make.
On the basis of what I've seen here, I really think you need to learn the basics of the class for 4.0.3. Here are some questions for you to answer that will help you along the learning process.
1. What is the hit cap for a level 85 warlock?
2. What is your stat priority as Destro? What does that tell you about how you should be re-gemming and re-reforging your gear?
3. What's up with the stamina chest enchant / gem and the helm enchant (stam / dodge?)
Now just some general notes:
1. Your professions are "whack". Mining gives you almost no dps increase that I'm aware of and your engineering, although a good profession for a warlock is about 115 points away from being maxed...and is, any way you look at it, not close to providing any dps benefit for you.
2. Tanking trinket? Is that REALLY better than any other trink available from quests? Start doing Baradin's Wardin's Dailies on Tol'Barad to pick up Stump of Time at exalted.
3. Spirit ring? Reforge that spirit to something.
4. Use engineering to craft a new epic helm. (Sell mats from mining to get money to fund this).

Here's what I've done so far:
1. Read you're app and 2. Checked your armory.
Here's what I'm going to do:
I'm going to give you 2 weeks and then look back at your character changes and then comment on your app.
We're early in the expansion so I get it, you're gearing up still. What makes me nervous is that your gear is really not even in the ballpark of doing a heroic. We've all been there, but to be honest you've got some work to do there. What's more concerning to me is that you haven't enchanted even one piece of gear with even the cheapest of enchants. Again, maybe this is because you're currently in greens. (Although if you check my armory, I'm wearing an enchanted green, too.)
More concerning is that your specs aren't even in the right zipcode of being optimal. See the elitistjerks.com warlock forums for proper affliction / destro spec'ing. I understand that this might take some time, so I'll be back in 2 weeks to check on your progress.

A little new to Bartender, not really familiar with the controls and I could not find the addon for buttons that I used to use....well, can't even remember the name of it to be honest.

tweaks — Tue, 01/11/2011 - 13:21Also I have some of my spell rotation on a macro (For example, Immolate, Fel Flame, Conflagrate, incinerate, incinerate, then Chaos Bolt can all be done with one key. Obviously I use Soulburn, demon soul, Curse of the Elements, Bane of doom and then soul fire before I use that macro, however for this part, I prefer use the individual keys so I have control to use them when the cooldowns end.) so I do not have to move my fingers to different keys, potentially causing me to hit the wrong key if I need to move to the next spells in a hurry (Also, I still have those spells on individual keys in case something happens and I have to adjust to make sure I can get back to max DPS ASAP.)
You may ask, why I do a Fel Flame right after Immolate since Fel Flame is an instant blast of 2740 shadow damage that adds 6 second to immolate. (I am sure most the destruction/affliction Warlocks here prolly know, or at least the destructions that you can't do Conflagrate right after immolate is cast, there is a bit of delay until you can use it, so in that time instead of spamming it until it goes off, you can do another instant, Fel Flame , then Conflagrate.)

Scaron — Wed, 01/12/2011 - 11:56I'm gonna hold off on other comments because you've still got about 9 or so days left on the two weeks I gave you; however, some of your comments above can be corrected now to yield you a higher dps.
1. Never use Fel Flame unless you're running, not even to fill the space b/t immo and conflag coming up. It's always a DPS loss, always. 100% of the time, there's a different spell that you could cast that will yield you more damage. For instance, you could fill your initial immolate, conflag gap with a Bane of Doom or Corruption. After that initial gap, you probably won't notice many gaps because you'd be casting conflag on CD...then recasting an immolate. If there ever were a gap and nothing else to cast an incinerate would be best.
2. I'm not wild about spell rotation macros. Warlocks don't have a rotation, we have a priority list. If you've got immolate, fel flame, conflag, incin, incin and cb, all in a castsequence macro, you'll never be able to adjust to when that's not the proper order (and actually, unless CB is on cooldown, that's not the proper order). So, you've got one extra button in addition to all the rest (meaning you've got a button with 4/5 spells macroed that you don't really need, or you can't adapt your play. Either way it's a dps loss. IMO, just learn where your buttons are so you can hit them in your sleep.
I don't mean to be a dick. On a good note, you've made some good steps on your avg iLvl. Go reforge, enchant, and optomize your gems and we'll talk.

I use Mouseover macros, I have much more control over my heals that way and even have stopcasting macros built into some so I can prioritize with less thought. Healing is such a mindgame now the less thought you have to put into it the better the group/raid is and the better your mana pool will be.
