Need some geek help because Windows sucks.

I have no idea how this happened or how to fix it, last night I was running Windows Media Center in the corner of the screen while doing other stuff as usual. then somehow it got moved off the screen, and i mean WAY off the screen. Its not even visible on the edge of the screen for me to click on and move.
Ive tried right clicking the button on the start bar and clicking "move" so it bring up the 4 arrowed dragger. It shows that all the way to the right of the screen, so I dragged it to the middle and clicked. Nothing happed, I've tried it over and over trying to move it to various positions in the screen but it never comes back off the screen. Anyone know how the hell I can get this back?!?

In the future I recommend

I've seen Mac users move
Dufe — Mon, 03/10/2008 - 16:43I've seen Mac users move windows off screen like this as well . . . nice try though
Thanks everyone for trying
Vulk — Mon, 03/10/2008 - 14:49Thanks everyone for trying to help me solve this problem. Ive got it fixed now thanks to some in-game consult from Nettibebb. I ended up having to Alt+Space (Media Center didn't offer this feature so i had to right click the Media Center bar on the windows Start Bar and hit Move) and then hitting M to get the move option up. Instead of having to click on the window I used the arrow keys to move the window around. This brought it into the screen! Glad that nightmare is over.
Before this I got a hold of both Microsoft and HP to see what they had to say to help me. Microsoft told me to go talk to HP because it was preinstalled software, HP told me to go talk to Microsoft because it is their program. Classic help offered from large businesses and another flaw with everything that is Windows.

Usually the config files have .ini as an extension and can be openned with notepad. Before deleting it, move it to another folder that way if it turns bad you can restore it.
I'm not a Windows expert so
Tankard — Mon, 03/10/2008 - 14:05I'm not a Windows expert so I can't tell you exactly what to do, but your WMC preferences have to be stored in a file somewhere. Find it and delete it. One way to help isolate which file it is would be to make some preference change to WMC, quit the app and then do a search on files modified in the last 10 minutes.

my guess is that you have a
Shinso — Mon, 03/10/2008 - 10:31my guess is that you have a video card capable of multiple monitor support and you have it enabled with no second monitor, or something to that effect. you can see if anything like that is enabled and turn it off.
Unfortunately for the "move"
Ardea — Mon, 03/10/2008 - 10:14Unfortunately for the "move" to work you have to be able to click on the top bar. Try lowering your screen resolution a lot. Usually when you lower your screen resolution Windows will move/resize the opened windows so they are still visable.
Just in case:
1. Start > Control panel > Display (same as right-clicking on the desktop)
2. Go to the Settings page
3. Adjust the screen rexolution to a value much less than it is currently... try 800 x 600 and click Apply.
4. Hopefully it will work and it is viewable again... reset the resolution back and click OK.
Other options would be to close and re-open or restart the computer.
