Warcraft logs data compared to Recount or WoL

Does anyone know why the logs show hps/dps being so much lower than recount or even the old WoL? I was thinking it was shields for the healz, but the dps is nerfed too. Example: Last pull for Garrosh, my recount shows me at 120k hps. In the log, the last pull shows me at 90k hps.
This also affects the dps similarly. Our log is done by Hackman, who is mdps. Is it a proximity thing? Just curious, because when I ask people, what numbers we should pull say for dps, people in game will say 240k dps each for 6 dps for that fight. When I look at our logs, we look low, but in game we look spot on for our best pulls and have gotten the boss to 3% p3 before.
Not a big deal (mechanics are a big deal), but for gear check fights in future would be good to know. Has anyone else noticed this when comparing to WoL too?

Short answer is: it depends.

A fight like spoils, norushen, sha (during pacman phases), dark shamans (using a split group strat), and the temple of the red crane phase during garrosh probably will give out wrong readings.
thank you

The best fight to demonstrate
Elapsed — Thu, 03/13/2014 - 11:55The best fight to demonstrate what he's referring to is Spoils. Run your normal Spoils and at the end of the fight have 1 person from each side link top 3 DPS, and I promise you wont see the same numbers
