I decided to try to make this more interesting by using no vehicles. Just mounted up and ran though, killed trash, killed Flame Leviathan. It does start to hurt towards the end as it puts a stacking increase damage debuff on you, but it was never that threatening.

For those that do not have very good self healing, you definitely wont make it up to these stack levels. Fortunately FL still moves slower than you do early on, so if you can use a speed boost to get out of his melee range, you can just run away from him until the debuff falls off. Rinse/repeat. Thats how I've been doing it w/o vehicles.
