Tk/SSC runs
Morica — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 08:19
With the change to LF1M schedule I would like to start putting together a quick Saturday TK/SSC run. With the goal of downing particial bosses for quick loot. I really don’t feel like doing a mAlt type thing, I’d rather
just see LF1M and Hamfist mains that still need the gear so these can be quick
smash and grab type runs. If you would like to see something like this just post if we get enough interest I'll post a event.

As hokey and controversial
garreth — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 10:39As hokey and controversial as it sounds, this has always been a huge goal for me as a crit-build paladin:
[item]Sextant of Unstable Currents[/item]
Of course, I wouldn't roll on it over a raiding caster that considers it a legit upgrade. But it really is an upgrade for me and will let me hit 50% Holy Light crit, a sweet spot in crit power-healing situations.
May be true for Hamfist, but
Dufe — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 10:34May be true for Hamfist, but LF1M still has ALOT of upgrades there that would likely help us get through BT quite a bit. We use the points to avoid drama in the main raids - I don't see a reason not to avoid the same drama here. The FuriousRaid points are really very minimal work to get going/keep up. It's not really adding any headache to loot distribution, in fact - it's reducing it significantly if you take into account all the arguing over stuff like "the guy who's been waiting 5-6 weeks for something and then some guy comes in first time and wins the roll" . . . QQ . . .
Get the 3 point pools built
garreth — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 10:41Get the 3 point pools built for this in FR, Dufe. Call them T5 - AP, NAP, NRP. Should be pretty simple to track, and, you're right, there is no drama. ie If this becomes a regular thing for a few months, we won't see so-and-so new guy beating a BT raider on their T5 helm or whatever.
Hmm there are 2 posts I
saedo — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 10:50Hmm there are 2 posts I wanted to respond to simultaneously but they're in 2 diff threads. lol
So if alts are needed in such a run (e.g. Aidin) how bout alts can spend only in NRP pool? Either that or make a whole new alt pool.
I think a simple solution
garreth — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 10:54I think a simple solution would be: Raiding mains first and foremost. Easy, simple and to the entire point of the run.
I would actually love this.
chrislow — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 10:39I would actually love this. There are a million upgrades in both instances for me! Count me in
Also, not to be outdone by
saedo — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 10:29Also, not to be outdone by Shihli. ;p My would be loot list:
1) [Belt of One-Hundred Deaths] - It is the best belt before T6 off Brutallus. But at this point it not so far ahead with badge belt around [Belt of the Silent Path].
2) [Warp-Spring Coil] - Best bursty damage trinket against low armored bosses. Though it's a minor upgrade in those situations at best so not much a priority.
3) [Deathmantle Chestguard] - lawl could mark the first time I've ever completed a set. But not an upgrade so only if no one else needs. lol
4) [Verdant Sphere] - Not an upgrade either, I just wanna see the quest! lol
5) [Ashes of Al'ar] - Me too!
/agree with Dufe.
Aidin — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 10:25/agree with Dufe.
There doesn't need to
starstalker — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 10:24There doesn't need to be a mess of "3rd pool points" for this I think. Most people are only going in for 1 or 2 legit items, upgrades for T6 raids, that there wont really need to be a point system. Just /roll or need it. If its a toy, then no one should get hurt losing a roll.
my $.02
I would consider this to be
Dufe — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 10:18I would consider this to be the best lng-term loot option for these runs: It would be fairly easy to have another set of points other than the LF1M/Hamfist points. Just call 'em T5 points, and have the same 3 pools we're used to. Do it in FuriousRaid and be done with it. It would work just like the points we have now, except that points would only accrue on T5 runs, and could only be spent on T5 runs.
I would say that, for a
Shihli — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 10:07I would say that, for a smash-and-grab run, the "best" bosses to kill would be:
SSC:
- Leotheras the Blind
- Fathom-Lord Karathress
- Lady Vashj
TK:
- Void Reaver
- Kael'thas
That way you cover all of your T5 set drops without spending all bloody night in there.
Badass, I like this
garreth — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 10:07Badass, I like this schedule. I'd kinda like to see Tidewalker as well since the upgrades from him are substantial for a number of classes. If not, then no biggie.
I'm voting on rolls between
garreth — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 09:58I'm voting on rolls between the classes that WILL use the item consistently in a raid setting. No points, but SMARTS.
This is NOT an off spec raid. This is NOT an alt run. This is a run to legitimately upgrade both raids. Everyone will be expected to have come to the raid with a "shopping" list of items they are after. None of this "well, i guess I can use that there thingy."
Know what drops ahead of time, know how it relates to your class, know it's impact on your performance.
The best way to handle this is like this. Go to maxdps.com, search for items that only drop in ssc/tk and items you can get with badges (an example for rogues: http://maxdps.com/rogue/combat.php?saveID=28712b0879). Now, can you get something better through badges? No? Ok, which bosses do you need then?
Saedo will disagree with me here, but it's a STARTING POINT!
Heh, my philosphy is if
saedo — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 10:14Heh, my philosphy is if you're truly interested in obtaining "max dps", why use a subpar tool when there are far better ones. lol
possibly in.
Grovinski — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 09:55possibly in.
I can handle loot no
Atar — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 09:49I can handle loot no problem. If people don't like it they can leave. Done. Our raiders aren't dumb. They know I mean well.
All I really "want" / "need"
Shihli — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 09:47All I really "want" / "need" out of SSC/TK are the following:
1) [Verdant Sphere] -> [Telonicus's Pendant of Mayhem] - the BEST survival neck in the game, bar none.
2) [Tsunami Talisman] - better for survival than [Dragonspine Trophy]. However, if I should get a DST before a TT becomes available, I will pass on this until at least a few others grab it first :)
3) [Helm of the Vanquished Hero] -> [Rift Stalker Helm] - only because I want to be 5/5 T5 and be a packrat lol. Also because this allows for some gear flexibility and set bonus stacking that I wouldn't get otherwise.
4) [Thalassian Wildercloak] - quasi-upgrade over my [Cloak of Fiends], depending on other gear I may wear in the future.
5) [Ashes of Al'ar] - just for shits.
I've put a little bit of
Morica — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 09:46I've put a little bit of thought into how loot will be handled. But to be honest I wanted to see what the responce was first. I'm glad to see it looks like I'll have some of the best downfall has to offer, because I gonna need it :-)
On that note I'd like to get the imput from the officers on how they feel gear should be handled? I'm leaning towards rolloffs, but because for some classes best of slot items drop in here I'd really hate to see someone come in week after week helping out only to loose to the fill in we picked up in a pinch. Ah... Loot discussions, something I really DON'T miss.
Atar im game for
Dragon — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 09:44Atar im game for tonight
~Legendary Nobody
But can we pls add Void Reaver to the list :(
A reminder that loot will
Dufe — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 09:38A reminder that loot will likely be rolled off to those for whom it is deemed appropriate. (Tanking gear to tanks, healy gear to raid healers, etc) Unless of course we want to do the roll-off between the raiders at the top of their respective raid pools for LF1M and Hamfist again.
I'll buy people out for that
Pettingzoo — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 09:29I'll buy people out for that T5 helm.
Mor, I love this idea. Our
garreth — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 09:28Mor, I love this idea. Our Saturdays are relatively clear now, so that's a scheduling option.
I like what you're saying about particular bosses: Let's get those quest chains done that get people their medallions and their rings, but really really important to BT and beyond.
I also like your approach to the raiders: Let's mix it up well with both Hamfist and LF1M. It will be a great opportunity to get these guys together. And, like you said, we're doing this for those pieces of gear the hardcore raiders still need.
Heh, I like how the weekend is looking. Saturday: Last pieces of gear for hardcore raiders, Sunday: First pieces of gear for alts!
Hell, I thought about trying
Atar — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 08:33Hell, I thought about trying to throw one together tonight. Go to TK and throw a bunch of mages at it. 3-4 tanks. Well, for Al'ar and Solarian anyways.
i to would really like to
Grasen — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 08:31i to would really like to see a t5 helm. i'm game no matter who starts this up.
I'd love another go at T5
Shihli — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 08:30I'd love another go at T5 helm on Shi and the neck/cloak off Kael. I think G was planning on scheduling these for Saturdays.
That was the plan stan. I
Aidin — Fri, 04/25/2008 - 08:23That was the plan stan. I believe Garreth was going to help make this happen. Really exited about getting LF1M and Hamfist together for these instances too!
