FF7 was the first real RPG

FF7 was the first real RPG game I played, however from an RP and storyline standpoint I have to give the nod to Both Final Fantasy Tactics and to the Baldur's Gate series on PC.

I still think FF7 was a great game, one day I might have enough money to buy Crisis Core.

Overall though I'd have to agree with Shihli's assessment of Anime. Its why i stopped watching it so long ago.

Yasunori Mitsuda. That's the composer's name.

Another excellent composer is Nobuo Uematsu, he's the guy that's made the music for most of the modern Final Fantasy games.

Nobuo Uematsu is awesome.

Nobuo Uematsu is awesome. I bought the4disc CD's for both FF7 and FF8. His compositions helped to give the gameplay even more depth and life, truly outstanding work throughout the series.

Yes, the music was amazing in Chrono Cross.

Chrono Cross had some very very unique ideas, and sexcellent music (I'm forgetting the guy's name ...). Too damn many playable characters (44) drown out the "story" and make it hard if not impossible to care about any of them though.

Overall a good game though!

I only know so much about Inuyasha for three reasons:

1) In college, I watched/listened to a lot of Cartoon Network Adult Swim while I was playing FFXI/WoW. Inuyasha was on all the ****ing time.

2) I have a bad habit of remembering too damn much about frivolous things.

3) Allikat used to *love* the show.

While FF7 was not my first RPG, it was however definitely the first game that made my jaw actually drop (when Aeris was killed off) and made me realize that games were more than just things to pass the time. FF7 made me appreciate gaming as a storytelling medium, and as a main character in that story, Sephiroth will always have a place on my gaming pedastal.
