I think mods can be very helpful (and it some cases necessary) for max performance in a raid. I swear by Deadly Boss Mods and Omen.

WOTLK: All end game has been cleared, and I've downed only Flame Leviathan in Ulduar. BC: 2/6 SSC, Karazhan full clear, all heroics. Classic: Downed MC and Ony, and all the stuff before it.

Hey all,

I've gotten to know you guys for the past couple of months, and it's been an honor to get to play with such a good group of players.

There are a number of issues going on in my personal life right now that are not going to allow me to raid or even log into WoW consistently for the forseeable future. Please close this application as things are just too much up in the air right now for me to follow through on the commitment that I want to give you guys.

Hi Serb, I'm glad I finally get to post this:

You're running with us in Ulduar 25 this week! We'll most likely need you all our raid nights: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Monday. Load up on flasks and whatever pot makes you do the most damage. Be prepared for hard modes and be completely read up on all the bosses (www.downfallguild.org/Ulduar).

Talk with Poisondonut and see if you guys need to synch your spec in any way. Have all the guild addons, fully updated and ready to blow shit up. See you online at 6pm tonight.

Hey Garreth, thanks so much for the invite to run with KB this week. I'm sorry I couldn't be there on Tuesday or Wednesday - as I mention in the PM to you I wasn't able to clear my schedule (girlfriend stuff Tues night and a birthday party Wednesday) in order to make it. I was here on Friday but I think the raid didn't happen.

Anyway, with that said I'm available to run with KB on Tuesday and Wednesday next week if you still need me. I'll make sure I'm in game and ready to go. I'm sitting with full stacks of flasks, food, and wild magic potions and can't wait for my shot :-)

I'd post my availability on the raid but I don't see anything on the calendar for July, so I thought I'd put it here.

State of the Serb

So, after having dinged 26 days ago, I've made some progress:
6/1 - 1.6k (naxx10)
6/7 - 2.1k (naxx10)
6/9 - 2.9k (naxx25)
6/14 - 3.5k (naxx25)
6/22 - 4.1k (naxx25)
6/22 - 4.3k (Sarth25 - 0D)

I am now in 213 in everything but 6 slots, which are 200. I think its reasonable to assume that with a few more pieces of hit gear and a spec change to TTW/FB, I could clear 5k in the next few weeks.

I'm giving it everything I have to show you guys that I'm at least passable DPS, and I hope that my staying active, posting parses, and keeping you updated is the way to do that.

Again, thank you for your consideration, and hopefully a few responses. I'd love to have suggestions if there's anything I need to fix. This app is dead lately!

Just out of curiosity. How many mages does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

I would say 11. 5 gnomes standing on top of eachother,well 4 because 1 just went to the top to see if his engineering parachute will work or his slowfall.. 2 people to target the wrong lightbulb. 1 to cast frostbolt accidentally destroying the new lightbulb. 1 to cast frostbolt destroying the old lightbulb. 1 to see if his dps can reach 1 million before the previous 2, and one who runs around grabbing new lightbulbs because of the ones being destroyed.

I'm not that sure of how correct I am but i feel i am in the ballpark estimate.

Parses - Naxx10

Hey gang, ran Naxx10 today and got some parses.

I didn't realize that I had one attempt on Archavon in the log from earlier in the day before I started, so that 45 second encounter might have affected overall numbers a tiny bit, but other than that it's a full clear of the four wings of Naxx.

Overall, 2.1k dps. The first thing that jumps out at me is the 2.5% miss on my FB, which really hurt the dps (there was no dreanei in the group). Going to work on getting that hit up immediately; I think that I might need to go to perhaps FFB spec for now because I'm having to gem heavily for hit.

What other areas can I improve upon?

Well, just completed Naxx10 for the first time on Serbitar, save for KT who we're downing tonight. It was a good run, and with subpar gear I did 1.6k dps.

I've got my rotation down and I'm feeling comfortable in the role. Going to gear for a couple more weeks then maybe look to join a 25 with you guys.

I definitely will - I've got WWS set up along with loggerhead to make sure I'm getting a log the next time I run.

I'm going to try to pug a naxx25 tonight, but if not I've got a Sunday naxx10 going down so I can post my parses then.

As far as gearing for a spec

As far as gearing for a spec and what not, gear for FFB at first, but always work for hit items. FFB is out dated unless you are going for Hodir hard mode. the new spec is TTW FB spec (btw, my slash button doesnt work in my browser atm). Find RAWR, download it, and get used to using it. if you need help setting it up, ask around in DFrecruit and stuffs. Someone will eventually help you out. I dont play atm, so its rare u find me online, but if u do find me on, ask. I will help you set up RAWR.

RAWR tells you everything you need to know about a mage, helps you gem and enchant stuff. you can compare different specs and gear. It just tells you everything once you get used to using it, but it takes time to learn how to use it properly.

I'm making some progress. I'm nearly 74 now and expect to be 80 by the end of May.

join irc on the website during regular business hours and talk bad about pedran again.

Herm, normally this is the part of the app where I'd ask for some mage food, but yours is not good enough yet for my paladin to ninja. So erm, good luck.

P.S. Pedran, I will try to find something later to tear him a new one with, his app is too good for 8:45 am readings though. Or I am just half asleep still.

Question For Mages

Quick update before I get into my question. I'm moving along nicely and am now a couple of bubs from 62 since this app was entered on Monday. So, progress!

Question for you mages out there. My initial plan (as stated in previous notes) is to go with an arcane spec for the lower hit cap (184) until I get into decent enough hit gear to switch to FFB, which has a higher cap (anywhere from 263-368 depending on group comp).

Is this a good way to go? It seems like I'd provide better dps for a time as arcane until I reach non-arcane cap, and then switch to FFB to up that dps. Am I way offbase?
