As most of you know from Esko's post, This toon is Young. I have been Raiding with him for close to 2 months, Soon as I get a spec down Blizz. seems to Nerf or Change it.. Im currently 0/13/58 and Cant seem to get my dps to put out the numbers I was back before Memorial Day as 0/40/31.
First off these numbers are comming from a Training Dummy, Im getting around 3200 dps with self buffs.
My Rotation is CoE, Immo, Conflag, CB, Incinerate..
At first I noticed I was clipping Immolate alot, So caught onto that, but my Numbers didnt really Improve much. Im using DoTimer and several other Addons to help my Rotations but I still cant seem to get the numbers up.

Gnomorals — Sun, 08/02/2009 - 19:08Well, I finally gave in and sold my boat to buy a new computer.. Its nothing special
Pentium Duel Core 2.60 Ghz Processor, 6 GB Ram, 750 GB Hard Drive, ATI Radeon HD 4650 Graphics Card.
Im running around 50 fps now in Dalaran, up from 7 - 13 fps. Seems to be alot easier on my gaming thats for sure, But I still cant seem to get over 4k dps.. but that was in a pug 25 man OS....

The fact that Im currently playing with 15 fps in 25s and 150 - 180 Latency (With the Fix).. &^%* My Life!

garreth — Fri, 06/12/2009 - 11:04The latency isn't terrible, but the frame rate is. Talk to Grasen or I about cheap computer upgrades. We got Seraphatalia, Grasen and Shortlived from single digit frame rates in raid to 50+ frame rates. And their dps and effectiveness went up exponentially.

Its a stock HP a6600f
Intel Pentium 2.2 ghz, 3 gigs ram, 320gig hard drive, with vista 64 bit
Im still running off the stock graphics wich is only a Nvidia Geforce 7100 I believe lol.. But I cant really afford to put a bunch of money into it.. really I just need a larger power supply to support a better graphics card.. and the graphics card of course.

Copying other people is not always the best idea. They have their raid, their stats, their gear that got them where they are. You might not have those resources.
Anyways, use Rawr, which apparently you never did before even though this whole crew was supposedly reading up on EJ about their own class.....................................................................................................................

But It seems to pretty much be the answers to most of my questions so thanks for turning me towards it.. Its definitly a must for everyone, Im still getting used to it but it pretty much helped me rule out the rotation bit. Its mainly my gear thats holding me back at the moment.

saedo — Wed, 06/10/2009 - 17:28Currently you appear to be 19 hit rating off the cap. If you move the Dragon's Eye from the helm to the blue slot in the pants (granting you +6 hit rating socket bonus), and put a [Rigid Autumn's Glow] in the helm's place, that would give you 22 hit rating. 2 over capped, but that's as close as you'd get. Or just do a 16 hit for one of your red sp ones and be 3 under the cap, which imo is close enough.
Either or.
As for rotations, I'd still be careful on a Target Dummy. They're def shit for dps, and better for rotations, but... In raid, you should get more spell haste and stuff, so that will affect rotations.

One thing Im wondering is exactly how much Crit I really need with 0/13/58 before I start to worry about Haste.

moriella — Wed, 06/10/2009 - 21:42Glyph lifetap. SImulations show that you should keep this glyph until you are heavily geared into 226 ilvl gear. Your 4 piece+glyph is that good. Even after you get the gear, dropping lifetap is only marginally better. TLDR : Keep tapping for a while. Check out the lifetap mod I posted in the other thread.
Haste > Crit. Not 'how much crit BEFORE i worry about haste. Shoot for 20% crit unbuffed or so. Haste should be as high as you can get it. In t7.5 gear 650ish haste was a good number.

Scaron — Thu, 06/11/2009 - 08:32I can't say for sure about what was possible for T7.5 but it seems 650 haste is a LOT higher than other warlocks (among the best in the game) have currently. Fallenman is sitting at 450 base haste, while Supplicium is at 569 (Supplicium shows the value of taking the two handed staff [Icecore Staff] w/ a whopping 93 haste).
The thing is, Supplicium's crit is at around 16.5%. Sacrificed crit for haste (a good call IMO). Fallenman has lower haste, but is still sitting at about 20% crit.
Honestly, while 650 haste and 20% crit would be great numbers to shoot for, I wonder if they're possible.
t8 haste
moriella — Thu, 06/11/2009 - 10:38Yes, I think haste was reduced for t8 gear. I used the 650 in t7 as an example because in t7, locks were stacking it that high. Blizz designed t8 with less haste, so you will not see it get as high as it was before. You should get it as high as possible now.
However, this does illustrate again just how haste > crit.
There is a thread here somewhere started by tankard in t7 gear asking to get his dps up on patch. I helped him on that and we found the key was haste. Research showed top 20 guild warlocks were leading dps on patch with about 650 haste. Once tankard adjusted his gear, dropped his crit, raised his haste he was hitting 6500 on patch. Some locks were topping 7k on patch.

Gnomorals — Wed, 06/10/2009 - 23:02I installed the Lifetapper Addon but it doesnt seem to work.. I have played around with the settings and have battletext set to Blizz combat text but I get no warnings or sound..
Another thing, If i were to replace one of my Glyphs with Life Tap would I replace, Immolate or Incinerate Glyph?
And for the Haste, is that base haste? cause I have Elemental Focus Stone, wich I think has about a 40% proc if I remember correctly.. Thanks for taking ur time to help me out.

I've not installed and played with lifetapper yet. I'll try to figure it out in the next few days, I just know that the concept and function of the addon would really help most players. Perhaps another lock can come to the rescue and figure out how to set this up?
Go 3/13/55 with lifetap/incinerate/conflag glyphs if you have 4pc T7. If you have 2pc T8 swap to 0/13/58 and use incinerate/conflag/immolate glyphs. If you don't have the hit gear to support 0/13/58, you should still be running 3/13/55
Lifetap is pretty effective. I'm recommending the addon just now, as I dont see any of our locks using it as much as they need to. I think a week or two of raiding with it will improve uptime and get you used to casting it.
However :
"For destro locks especially, don't LT to keep the glyph buff up. Conflag every CD, the extra damage from doing it more often plus the additional haste effect you get is invaluable. Also, curse after conflags to possibly get a pyroclasm on it for an additional 6% damage.
Best rotation I've found is:
LT (if you're using the glyph) Immo, Conflag, CB, CoD, Incin till Conflag is ready, Conflag, Incin till Immolate has less than 1.3 secs on it (with my haste that's how long it takes to cast), Immo, CB (they'll come up next to each other within 1 secs), Incin till conflag is ready, rinse and repeat. Life tap while moving, or as needed.

You have to move alot on most fights - LT when you move or as needed. The addon is just recommended to get you used to it.
