I said that I don't guild hop for content, if that was the case you would have heard from me long ago when Apt's progress fell as we wiped on Mimi for weeks, or when we had a complete reform, or when we had to recruit 8 players in one week or when we couldn't get marumi's mace as he held 30 fragments for easily 3 weeks or when I was told my chances for my own mace were slim.
You might have heard from me when Pugclub was left leaderless, or when jesty freaked out on the whole raid or any of the numerous weeks we just wiped and wiped from people being lazy, not understanding fights or simply not caring to SHOW UP to the raids....
But you didn't. The first you heard from me was when my progression minded guild that I was very happy in died. I haven't been sniffing around your guild for months being opportunistic when you got your server firsts and downed hardmode content.
I can say as reasonably as I have a spot here, I could get a spot in grgl. I've talked to aris and taalon and there is a boomkin spot for the taking. So if you think I'm just here wasting your time, realize that I've spent quite a few hours enduring your 'rant' and I'm not afraid to say what I feel about it. Clearly I am searching for a home, not just a spot in a raid While many of your comments seem quite harsh....this has maintained a conversation, a discussion and imo seriously out of proportion.
Don't get me wrong though. This is a game I play. What I want from this game is to raid. My comments regarding progression raiding have been very true to how I feel and I am not blowing smoke up your ass about my commitments to a guild. I stay. Until it's dead.
But you can ask anyone who actually knows me, I put the people before the game.

Yes, I'm harsh and yes I'm blunt and there's a lot of people that view me as a jackass and/or an asshole. I simply opt not to sugarcoat how I talk, and try to get the point across in as few words as needed.
The fact that you're willing to to say what you feel about my rants, says more about you as a person than most of your app. You've got a backbone, you're eloquent, and you can get your point across when you need to. I like that :)
So as far as what it's worth, I approve of Celebra after this discourse and have nothing much else to add to the mater.

Celebra is a great palyer that loves the same aspects of the game that the majority of df does, she is fun, smart, light hearted and always a pleasure to raid with. I think this one isolated instance where she wasn't availlible to raid with us has been blown WAY out of proportion.
Priror to last week she was there for us in salmon she was there to wipe with my ten man on firefighter even though she had already earned her starcaller title and drake.
I believe Celebra is lost and searching for a new wow home. Correct me if I am wrong cele but i think you were just exploring all your options by raiding one week with epidemic. Take into account that she has friends in df both old and some new :) but she also has friends that made the move to epidemic.
In my opinion we cant hold a grudge against her for exploring her options particualarily because she did an outstanding job raiding with salmon and Red Rocket and was just left in limbo with tons of good feedback but no hints from guild officers of a possible invite.
I would like to have cele raid with salmon FULL time, sorry for the confusion about you only being a fillin i take full responsibility for that. I think you are alot more community minded than shili is giving you credit for.
My vote is still yes if your up for it cele lets get you back in with salmon.

It doesn't matter what other people are doing to Salmon raids, this application is about you. You chose to raid with another group during our raid times, which implies to me that you'd rather be raiding with another group of people than with us. The fact that none of us knew you were planning to raid with them tells me that either you forgot to actually tell anyone, or you didn't tell anyone anything in such a way that they'd remember.
Regardless, I'd say your choice, at least to me, is clear.
Unless Salmon absolutely needs you for its raids, my vote on your application is no.

Yes, this app is about me and what I'm doing, I'm telling you what I did and why. Does Salmon NEED me? Like I said, I thought I was filling in. I went to the firefighter attempts I was asked to go to.
And no, I didn't say why I was missing Salmons raid. I just said I wasn't going to be there that week. I talked to Aurleas about it a little bit.
And am I really going to be penalized for going to another raid when I already got tons of approval from this guild and no invite?

Celebra — Sat, 10/03/2009 - 11:04I'm not entierly sure which raids I went to on what days since it's been about 2 weeks since I raided with Salmon but I ran with other raids for a couple reasons.
1. I've not been invited to the guild. I realize you guys do a long process to invite, that's fine, you want to try me out, that's fine. I have been very active in the app process and going to several raids and whatnot. I'm not really sure what more you want from me to know if I can join the guild or not. I'm in a dead guild, I run with whoever asks me to go because I don't want to be in it forever.
2. There are issues filling and finishing raids. I am clearly aware that skipping the raid doesn't help the problem but from what I understand its an ongoing problem.
3. I do not feel guilty about wanting progression. I really felt like the comments about greeding out to a stronger raid was a loaded gun. If i want to join downfall I need to go to salmon raids. But if I want progression raids then maybe this isnt going to work out. I have friends in grgl and they asked me to go to ToC and ToGC so I went. Aurleas made a comment to me along the lines of, we are not very strict or demanding, if you are fustrated or having a bad day or whatever it's not a big deal to miss, just let us know and whatever. Which I did. I didn't realize it was going to be a major issue like it seems to be. I'm stuck in a transistion phase right now, I'm a raider with no raiding guild and I'm trying to keep up gear wise because I imagine thats going to be important in the search for a guild...
The bottom line here is that I came, I got raid time and you saw what I can do. If you liked it, which seemed to be the case, then invite me and lets kill some monsters. If not, I'm going to continue searching for a guild, which is going to require me to go to their raids. I like downfall, I like salmon, and I only ran ToGC 25 with grgl, it just happened that it was during salmons raid times or I would have went to Salmons Uld run as well.

Vitriola — Sat, 10/03/2009 - 12:19When I was apping this was unclear to me also. I have seen lots of wonderful things about Celebra and she seems one of the best apps I have seen. I do not think that she is a flake and, until shilhi started in on this, I do not remember anyone else indicating it either. She says that she did not go on a raid where she was not expected. That seems reasonable and credible to me. So, just let her know clearly what is expected and lets move on.
Just tell her what the problem is and how to fix it and I expect that all will be well. I would hate to lose someone that seems as wonderful as this.

I think of this as the "otherwise" you requested. I think that we will be much the better to have her here and less without her. I know that I do not get a vote but I will assume that I can have an opinion so there it is.
Celebra, you seem wonderful to me! I hope that you can weather Shihli's verbose rant. If it helps, reread the other posts. Many of us like you immensly. Shihli is just one person. Just do what you do. You will undoubtedly outshine the gainsayer.

If all she wants is a raiding guild, she'd best look elsewhere. If she wants to join a community as well, she should "wealther my verbose rant" as you so cunningly put it.
I don't have anything against her personally, I just don't want her to waste our time as so many other guild applicants have in the past. I don't see how that's a bad thing, and all I'm asking for is clarity.

With the exception of a few, noone speaks to me unless they want something from me. You (shili) specificaly. If thats an attempt to familiarize youself with me than i stand corrected. But when you have nothing to say to me unless you want brewfest summons, or a body to fill a heroic group, what am i to think? I am on all the time, and i dont see people chit chatting in vent very often. So maybe the community is just a small group of people and the rest are raiders.
Celebra is as friendly as they come. She will, i guarantee, get along fabulously with almost everyone in 'the community'. To get a spot in guild, though, you need to be a good raider. Celebra is definitely good.
