The new variation of mods I'd like to advertise with this is..
MSBT (MiksScrollingBattleText) - It replaced my Parrot and wow it's far better (another ace mod down the crapper lol). It's much lighter weight than Parrot. 600KB ish while Parrot was like 3MB I think. And I'm loving the bottom text frame, you'll see a bit of it kinda fading away, the new thing to me is that it prints out if my target is gaining buffs. You kinda see "Burning Fury" scrolling there right now.
SexyCooldown - From the creator of SexyMap, it's the blue bar you see with little icons in them. It's like Cooline or Forte mod or something. It does the whole moving icon for Buffs and Cooldowns, along a timeline logarithmetically and splashing it when it reaches zero. But what caught my eye was that it handles my trinket's internal CDs as well. I've set mine's up to color red to differeniate it, and you'll see a DV and runestone icon there on my screen right now. All to better plan around trinket procs for moar dps.

That shit is so good, it might wind up in the guild addon pack. SexyCooldown has moved to that hallowed place right next to my cast bar.

Was reading around at how a couple other similar mods for this, and conclusion is that SexyCooldown is still the mod for me.
ForteXorcist is a rather large package of several mods targeted for warlocks.
Coolline copies the timeline the module out of it and appears to want to remain miminal, it does not handle buffs/debuff etc cooldowns
So might look into creating several bars specific to things I want to see. Could wind up replacing stuff like EventHorizon.

Kwondre — Fri, 11/13/2009 - 05:36I've been using Mik's for like two weeks and I'm real happy with its customizablility. Looks like you've got the notification area right on top of your head. Personally, I've found that to be a bit too cluttered especially when raid warnings are popping up as well.
I like the minimalist approach...but my only question would be the positioning of your mods. It seems like you have a lot of dead real estate in the blank spaces by your various bars and windows. You also have a ton of free space on the right side of your screen. What if you moved grid/omen/recount flush to the lower right of your screen and moved your tooltip (I like tiptac for tooltip mod), then moved your chat window down.
Sexy Cooldown is awesome...especially the internal proc watching. I'm gonna have to pick that up.

saedo — Fri, 11/13/2009 - 12:00I've been meaning to mess with the filters of the notifications. Lot of stuff I just don't care to see like unimportant buff fades/gains.
Right side is where a few BT4 popup buttons are, and space for when I need to look in bags for some reason.
Grid though, I might move it up to top left. Since it expands right I'd just wanna naturally keep it left side. Shove chat box back down, the warning bars further down.
I do tend to keep space inbetween mods, I just never like "blacking out" an entire area. However little, I can still see something going on nearly every part of the screen. And yes I know of viewport mods, still don't like how they look. ;p
For tooltips, I do normally use CowTip. But, I've turned it off cause I now try to raid with the minimal mods. You'll see on my top 2 places where the word Carousel turns up, normally you'd see my Broker Location and Reputation mods in there, though they don't take much memory in the first place...
Which in turn I should advertise (did this before somewhere)...
ACP (Addon Control Panel) - This little mod allows you to create different sets of addons that you can load up, with a reload ui. With this gem, I have my Normal running around with Auctioneer and shit set, and a Raiding set turning off every single mod I don't need to see in a raid.
The green box would be Utopia. It's what I use to see if we got all the equivalent debuffs on the boss. It actually changes color depending on how debuffed the boss is. Red if little to none, yellow if mostly filled maybe not using best raid has (like a 10% used vs 13%), green is the good to go got everything within the raid (though the pic doesn't show mangle on, maybe it just fell off).

Do you have a widescreen monitor? I didn't like viewport mods until I got one...it only takes up the lower 17% of my screen...i don't know...gotta go with what you're comfortable with.

Don't get my wrong. I like the UI a lot and am going to rip off a lot of it =) when I get home. I'm just saying I think you could squeeze a tad more real estate out of it...
For viewport I use Sunnart...if you download the art packs, theres a crap load to choose from...I think you might be able to find at least ONE that you could suffer through.
