You cannot blame me for being a bit excited to replace a PoS ring for pally healers (Ony ring). Everyone gets happy when they replace something that's no where close to a BiS ring with something that over time, will become damn near BiS.

You cannot judge my willingness to progress in a raid via me being excited for a new piece of gear. If that's the way it came off, you are sadly mistaken.

As for my computer situation, I discussed already with garreth about my computer situation, so that statement was irrelevent to the proceedings.

I'm sorry that I had to leave, but I was at my cousin's computer, and he gave me a few hours to play on it (and yes, I did have my correct raid UI). If it extended over a few hours, he would want to take his computer back to farm for gold for his BiS wrists (that he got from Divineheresy prior to the 10 man). 3 hours should be plenty of time to do 10 man ICC, so that was my mistaken Judgement.

I feel it would be a mistake on your behalf to pass up on me. If I don't dazzle right away, with help from Elapsed, Garreth, and my other RL friends/family, I feel I will progress to be a great holy Pally!

i am terribly sorry i was very excited i didnt mean to piss any of you guys off or rush you guys. its just i was being told if i didnt get off i will be taken off the internet cause hes a pushy bastard! aka (rorath) druid healer. and i totally didnt realize i was being such a annoying prick. i wasnt trying to mean any harm or fowl. i got my ring btw :D thanks guys for the trial run i had fun and i am planning on getting my own computer soon right now i am using m dads comp until he gets home from montana from working so ill be able to game more often.

and again i am sorry for any problem that i have caused i wish i woulda stayed more and helped the raid, i know there is noooo reason for my actions and behavior in that raid but a beneficial factor was that i was A, being yelled at B, tired C, im sick like real bad D, i wanted to get it done. i am sorry one last time.

Jedisi's ICC10 Trial Run

Had Jedisi along for an ICC10 tonight- these are my thoughts:

1- Jedisi decided to log onto a friends computer for raid, meaning he didn't have his UI optimized. Unclear why he didn't want to play on his rig, but I didn't bother pursuing at the time. Retrospectively, Jedisi, is there an issue with your computer as a raiding platform? Were you concerned with your rigs performance? or can you explan why you thought your friends computer would be better to raid on?

2- Overly concerned with personal wishes//lack of concern for raid progress. Asking if there was anymore trash we could kill so he could get the rep needed for the ashen verdict ring while everyone else was discussing strat and preparing for Saurfang. Later our warlock died from Mark of the Fallen Champion without receiving any heals resulting in a 7% hard enrage wipe. I'll also paraphrase since i didn't copy an exact quote but this was the essence of another statement as I understood it... 'Hey guys lets kill [Saurfang] this time, this is my last attempt because my friend wants his computer back, and I’d really like loot and rep’.

3- Forced to abandon raid early, since he was borrowing his friends computer and was no longer welcome to use it.

Overall left a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth. My hope, Jedisi, is that your motivation to raid is not wholly devoted around gear and what your in-game character gets out if it. Frankly, the in-game rewards are not worth your time if you aren't able to form relationships and friendships with the people you play with.

Negatives aside. I didn't have many complaints (aside from the above mentioned wipe) about actual healing performance out of the raid as a whole. 3 healing Marrowgar, 2 healing the rest. The job got done until we weren't able to get the practice we needed for Saurfang.

This is a teamwork game, if everybody in raid does not play its rol, it's impossible to performe well as a whole.

lol I told you that doesn't matter man, and besides BSing around in Mimi's hallway isn't real healing, if anything it's a fantastic waste of mana lol

like I said during that convo, just show you can keep people alive, and time your plea'a and other CDs to keep your mana up during a fight, and in turn keep your raid/party alive is what makes a good healer.

Also what G said about situational awareness, knowing your surroundings and whats at your feet, when fire is there and moving is essential. and whatnot

That all being said HPS is not a complete waste of info, if you can keep up 5k+ hps during a 7 min fight that means you've managed your mana well. however an easier stat to look at is overhealing, because if you were spamming holy light all around the whole fight (while keeping your mana alive) but only healing 1.7k hps then it's time for some new strats on healing, because obviously most of your bombs were overhealing. but as I stated before overhealing is an easier stat to look at.

Yarr, listen to Elapsed. However, do understand that overhealing in and of itself is not "bad". If you're at 80% overheal, but your targets stayed alive and you didn't OOM, then FUCK YEAH! More power to ya. I'm usually quite high on overheal since I tend to preemptively heal more. But, if your people are dying and you have to scream for an innervate after one minute, then start inspecting your overheal.

my rule of thumb is not to run a meter unless I'm DPSing that night. and if I feel that my healing was lacking in a particular fight (maybe thought my heals were all hitting late) I'll ask for a meter from someone and if I don't like my HPS I'll change my strat a bit on who to heal when. that's the only time hps matters to me.

well that and BSing in mimi's hallway.... because it's fun to heal for that much! lol

Hps isn't really something we judge on. Situational awareness, reaction time, cooldown usage and self sufficiency are what makes great healers. These are all much harder to achieve than hps.

Welcome back! it's good to have a pally in the works.

We were chatting tonight about regemming and while all Brilliant King's Amber is good (and is a variant of what I do) since you're regemming you have the opportunity to gem correctly and get the most out of your stats.

Gemming all int is the pallies return to a tank gemming pure stam. Sure it's easy but all you get is a nice stat to brag about. so check out Garreth's Blog he did about gemming. See if you can find a happy medium of gems you like to get your socket bonuses and whatnot.

Anyhow I have to raid, look forward to grouping up with ya and seeing how you do!

Long and short of it:

1) Being a die-hard clicker is bad. It makes you slow and inefficient.

2) Claiming that you'd "like to improve yourself without mods" in this game is choosing to do it the wrong way. Odds are, if you've been playing this game for any significant bit of time, you KNOW how to play. The only way to make significant strides in your playstyle is to improve it using mods.

3) Don't fail public school classes, it won't bode well for college
