Planning stage atm, let me know what you think/suggest.
$149.99 ASUS GeForce GTS 250 ENGTS250 DK/DI/1G Video Card
$94.99 PNY Optima 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory
$92.99 Open Box: ASUS M4A78T-E ATX AMD Motherboard
$84.99 Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
$357 We are looking at a combo for the items below, though I'm not convinced it's worth the money
Xigmatek MIDGARD-W Black Computer Case With Side Panel Window
Rosewill RX850-D-B 850W "Compatible with Core i7, i5" Power Supply seems a bit overpowered
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 140W Quad-Core Processor also seems a little overpower
XIGMATEK AIO-S80DP All-in-one liquid cooling system not certain if this is necessary, the computer will be getting HEAVY usage, worth the cost?
So a total of 789.96. Would be helpful to trim the price without sacrificing too much. Drop the package and buy a little less powered cpu/power supply? This is my first CPU from components. See anything I'm missing? already have a dvdrw, OS. Will Likely get a nice TV to use as a monitor... or monitor to useas a TV.

ATI owns that vid card price
Dufe — Tue, 12/08/2009 - 09:39ATI owns that vid card price range, you're wasting money on the 250 - go find an ATI 5770 like this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102864.
Western Digital's "Caviar Black" series is notably faster than the Seagate. If you want to spend a few extra bucks, look into an SSD - it will provide a larger performance boost than pretty much any other component.
850 Watt Power Supply is serious overkill, and I personally wouldn't trust a Rosewill (or other cheap brand) power supply. You would be more than fine in the 500-600 range, maybe something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341022 if you don't mind mail-in rebates.
Liquid cooling is entirely unecessary unless you think you're going for a large overclock, which I never recommend. It seems like by the time you spend all the extra dollars on cooling, you could have just bought the faster processor to begin with. At that price range, I'd really push you towards an Intel processor - you'll get better performance in general with an i5/i7. Look at a P55 motherboard and maybe an i5 750 or i7 860 for comparison.
