So with 3.3.3 and the whole
saedo — Thu, 03/25/2010 - 10:33So with 3.3.3 and the whole shake up thing, and after test runs this week, I think I'll switch over to combat as my main spec.
1. It's fairly close in dps now with all the buffs/nerfs that happened
2. Brings back the 4% phys debuff we've been missing
3. It was missing cause at the start, Mutilate was 3K ish ahead which was far far ahead. Now, prolly within 1-2 hundred depending on gearsets.
4. I def have been selfish in this cause with earlier nerfs I could've switched earlier, but I missed out on the mutilate as top spec back in 3.0. (3.1-3.2 combat ruled) And I guess each new rogue in has more of a hard on for Mutilate, so I'll just go back. ;p
5. So out of the running for fighting gear with those rogues, back to fighting Onrique and Quisjaa!
Edit 6: I also found that gem wise, they're the same now, AP haste. I need even more gear to change the setup. More ArP gear before ArP pushes over (BiS will have me all ArP). More hit gear before Agi pushes over (crit caps). Though the combat set wants a bit more AP than Haste, changing the gems over I gain 3.3 dps in combat set! And lose 0.5 dps in the mutilate set! lol Switching back and forth is quite easy atm.
A bit on Deathbringer's
saedo — Wed, 12/09/2009 - 11:54A bit on Deathbringer's Will. Seems to be indeed random proc, but a select few depending on class.
Rogue Report:
Short tests on a dummy in darny with Deathbringer's Will (sourfang
trinket). Nothing conclusive. Rough estimates would put it on par with
Death's Verdict/Choice for combat, little under for mutilate. Don't
quote me on that though. Pro is a longer duration so easier to pop
cooldowns with, con is the randomness of the buff so crit and arp caps
both need to be watched.

proc of a random buff of 600 Agi, 600 ArP, 1200 AP, there seems to be no particular order to it.
0:30 duration with ~1:45 internal cooldown.
Pally Report:
I was a the Cow thing (sorry I forget the name) +600 str 4 times in a
row, then the Dwarf (600 crit) 4 times, then a Vyrkul twice So far I've
only gotten Crit, Strength, and Haste, and I got the 1200 Ap one once.

Ok, so 3.3 and some pretty
saedo — Fri, 12/04/2009 - 01:23Ok, so 3.3 and some pretty big changes. Going Mutilate, and Ghostcrawler even says the changes are all going live. They'll only nerf it if rogues prove themselves to be OP. They know the target dummies and the theory has this spec way ahead, but would like to see real raid data first.
Also, making a checklist for myself cause I'm regemming everything. And I think I've got it precisely down to maximize both the normal and dedicated insanity sets, while minimizing gem costs (sorta). That last part meaning more that the shared gear between the 2 sets have the appropriate gem that works in both sets (e.g. don't overcap exp etc)
