If its possible I'd like to attend the next malt run ;) I'll do it in pre bc gear.

Cisper — Mon, 04/14/2008 - 17:30

All I want too see is the Warlocks, for once, in with the Shadow Priests & Resto Shamans. They never get the chance, alwayyss the mages.

And the Neck, it was a trash drop which you needed it on and I remember specifically seeing someone say "Oh, I needed that too".

None the less, this wasn't too just barrage you, it was the implifications of "Grats on being #1 DPS, while having a great group setup", I just thought you'd expect that and it wasn't worth congratulations, people who pull through and top the meters (like on occasion Ewiges, who is never in Grp5 with presence of another two Rogues), should receive commendation.

Has anyone pointed out the alt Resto druid healing for Mag and Maulgar?

Not sure what happen for Gruul... besides laying face down... then taking 5 mins to find a body because Grid was not telling me she was close. =(

garreth — Mon, 04/14/2008 - 08:43

Long thread is long.

And boring.

I know these are "just" malt runs, but I think the competitive spirit we keep going is a good thing.  We should always be going as flat out nuclear as possible, there is no fucking around on any boss.  I love the mAlt runs because when an alt kicks my ass in any metric, I have to stop and ask myself if I'm doing it wrong, lol.

I can remember screwing around on chess event and ... wiping.  Never again...

If your being brought in

Agoney — Mon, 04/14/2008 - 08:35

If your being brought in right away to t5 & t6 bosses without actually progressing through the content, your being carried through. There is no way around it. It's the same thing if I or anyone decides to bring there alt in for an illidan kill or what have you.

I dont know why anyone else was slacking on DPS for this night, since I did not attend, but my assumption would be that since they are easy bosses, it's not necessary to go all out. (Yes, they are easy bosses, don't try to argue it). If I was still fairly new, I probably wouldn't be slacking either, so grats to dragonspear for pulling his weight.

And Jas, I wouldn't say always.

The Melee Neck out of Hyjal

Dragon — Mon, 04/14/2008 - 08:09

The Melee Neck out of Hyjal was an upgrade at the time and I only took it because no one else in te raid had wanted it. Now I know no one bidding on it has slipped your mind but it happened. If someone had needed it I would have passed.

As far as the Vashj trinket, it was also about to be sharded and I felt it was better to prepare for the future rather than increase a void count.

I still keep the Hyjal neck around for an armor pen set. I am sorry for saving items from voids, I will ask that more of them get DEd.

Derchlon — Mon, 04/14/2008 - 02:34

I love ya Jas, but the trinket off Vashj that he got is situational. When his gear gets to the "OMG I'M 'BOUT TO PASS AGGRO!" every fight, then he can use that trinket to full effect. I've even read some theorycraft stating that Pallies can downrank Crusader Strike with it, and actually get negative aggro while using it. Dragonspear is not the first person to roll on a peice of gear that was gonna get saved until other gear makes it more viable than what he currently has.

I hadn't heard about the neck though, so I can't comment on that.

Cisper's picture

Well, your list doesn't

Cisper — Mon, 04/14/2008 - 01:23

Well, your list doesn't included on the Hyjal Trash Neck (which you needed - now dont use, which others did need), and the Vashj trinket (which again, you took from NAP - but not using it).

I just find that praise is put too raiders who get the ideal melee group (even if you're missing a Feral Druid), like, what did you expect?

Those raiders, such as the locks, who live through an entire fight or do very sustainable DPS without buffs receive nothing. Of course the Mages/Rogues will be Top 5 on DPS when they get a Shadow Priest + Resto Shaman / or a Solid Melee Group.

Good Job on doing well, it's good too see - but, yeah.

Raid stacking shouldn't be considered a bad thing, nor should someone's performance due to it be held in any less regard.

Again, Jasmynn, on a typical raid night we have 2 shadow priests and 2 resto shamans to give to the casters - what more can we do for you?  Would you prefer that we split the melee dps group to bring the numbers for them down?

More importantly, what are you trying to prove by belittling Dragonspear?

Dragon's picture

I am getting ready to go to

Dragon — Mon, 04/14/2008 - 01:15

I am getting ready to go to bed and plan on leaving this to rest after I make this post. But there is one other thing that has been bothering me. The fact that I am "Decked out" in Vashj and MH gear. So I figured I'd go look through where most of my gear came from since apparently it was all 25m epics handed to me.

Head: Furious Gizmatic Goggles (Crafted 350 Engineering BoP)
Neck: Mithril Chain of Heroism (Chess Event Karazan 10m)
Shoulders: Pauldrons of Gruesome Fate (Badge Vendor Shat. 60 Badges)
Back: Cloak of Darkness (Crafted BoE)
Chest: Netherforce Chestplate (Kael'thas Sunstrider Heroic Magisters Terrace)
Wrist: Furious Shackles (Rage Winterchill Mount Hyjal)
Hands: Justicar Gauntlets (t4 Token. Curator Karazan)
Waist: Red Belt of Battle (BoE Crafted)
Legs: Vanquisher Legplates (Pathaleon the Calculator Heroic Mech)
Feet: Sunstrider Warboots (Reg Magister's Terrace)
Ring 1: Violet Signet (Revered Rep, Violet Eye Karazan)
Ring 2: Band of Eternity (Honored Rep Scales of Sand Mount Hyjal)
Trinket 1: Hourglass of the Unravaller (Regular Black Morass)
Trinket 2: Bloodlust Brooch (Badge Vendor Shatt 60 Badges)
Weapon: Twinblade of the Phoenix (Kael'thas Sunstrider Tempest Keep The Eye)
Libram: Libram of Divine Judgement (Badge Vendor Shatt 20 Badges)

So when you include the reputation ring I have 3 pieces of 25m raid loot. No offense Cisper, but that is no where near "Decked Out" in it like you have claimed. If fact, I have busted my ass as much as I could to gather what gear I could. Yes I know I have been gifted some 25m loot, on the other hand I have damn well worked for others.

I would likely agree with

Dufe — Mon, 04/14/2008 - 01:11

I would likely agree with you about alot of players that get carried Jas, but I just gotta put in their for Dragon that he has been very competitive as a melee dpser since day 1 in the 25-mans and has always been on top of the strats before every new boss.  He does die alot though - but apparently that's normal for your average melee class.

Shihli's picture

And I'm sorry, but claiming

Shihli — Mon, 04/14/2008 - 01:05

And I'm sorry, but claiming "the casters get crap" is a bit ... I dunno, old.

We don't have any raiding boomkins, nor do we currently have room for any.  So no one gets that buff.  We've got 2-3 resto shaman nowadays, and with Turth going into group 5 with the melee that leaves the resto shaman with casters.  We've got two shadow priests which often get grouped with their respective resto shamans.

How else can we really, honestly, maximize our casters?  Seriously?  I see groups with a resto shaman, a shadow priest, a warlock, and a couple of mages (maybe even a BM hunter at times), what more can we do?

Likewise, we've got exactly enough melee to make one strong melee group in most raids.  Two rogues, a dps warrior, a shaman, and either another rogue or a feral druid.  That's that.

Regardless, Dragonspear has busted his ass to get to where he's at, there's little reason to rain on his parade (or anyone else's for that matter) when he/they show up well on the meters.

Cisper's picture

I was just saying why he is

I was just saying why he is #1 on damage, in reference to what Garreth said.

For fuck's sake, knock this shit off.  It's fucking childish and pointless.

Cisper's picture

Oh sorry, didn't realise

Cisper — Mon, 04/14/2008 - 00:26

Oh sorry, didn't realise you were an expert on my DPS. I never got a Shaman in my group, and was ALWAYS the highest Shadow Priest DPSer, being in one of the highest DPS.

I said it because you would've had 2 Paladin Auras, Battle-shout and Windfury, the melee gets ALL The buffs and the Casters get jack shit.

My DPS, is never crap.

Dragon's picture

Only windfury Cisper, no

Dragon — Sun, 04/13/2008 - 23:51

Only windfury Cisper, no Feral druid

Group make up was

Ret Pally (Myself)
Ret Pally (Atj)
MS Warrior (Gares)
Rogue (Pulga)
Enhancement Shaman (Luchs)

Therefore your "Stacking Buffs" was wrong. Unless of course a "melee" group is stacking buffs. But I am sure all our 25m raids would be glad to know that a melee group is just stacking buffs and it is the only reason period that they do remotely good.

YES: Melee classes have some very nice synergy
YES: Ret paladins do rely on others to make their max potential

On the same token, when you are shadow, your dps is crap unless there is a warlock there to help you out. And your own dps goes up with a damn shaman dropping Wrath of Air totem. So i don't wanna hear it.

Edit: Competition is always Welcome Saedo. Gives me a new benchmark to try to reach and pass :D

Well I'd assume Dragonspear

Cisper — Sun, 04/13/2008 - 23:08

Well I'd assume Dragonspear has a Feral Druid (5%) Crit and a Shaman (Windfury), So GG stacking buffs =p

Plus he's gotten carried through MH + Vashj etc at 70, I'm sure if other people got to do that (and get the equiv. gear he's gotten from their too) that'd perform just aswell.

Yes, I am bitch

Dragon — Sun, 04/13/2008 - 20:57

Something is up with the parses server and I can't get to it :(

BTW Pulga I just did /played on my paladin

Total Time Played: 21 days 14 Hours
Time Played at 70: 9 days 3 hours

And yes, I admit I have gotten remarkably lucky with drops etc to have allowed me to gear out as fast as I have.

~Legendary Nobody

Edit: As far as Mag goes. I found him very melee friendly. Other than that, I was really hitting Avenging Wrath nearly every cooldown, so I think I got it in 3 times or so during the fight. One thing I don't understand though is how I was running such a ridiculously high chance to crit on him. It's like mongoose was somehow up the entire fight.

I can say this though, even though I still have to go back and check exactly what the hell killed me. I am glad it did to a point. Since Star BRezzed me, it was a nice aggro dump. Cause I wasn't sure if I was gonna be able to blow wings again right before I died. Was within I think like 40k of pettings threat.

Aidin — Sun, 04/13/2008 - 09:20

Just a little heads up....Grasen is dragging me out to his parent's house to help them move the last of their crap out of their house.  I SHOULD be back in time.

If I'm not back by at least 4:15-4:30 Shihli or Atar will one of you start invites based on Class balance and sign ups?

Peeps who I'd like to see get invites (new guildies): Hosiko, Leahann, and Taasha.  These guys are newer to the guild and don't get to see much 25 man action.
