I hate technology

I apologize for my absence during MrT on my priest. WoW started acting weird so I restarted my computer. When it started itself back up, it said Windows couldnt start properly or something like that and offered:
Start Windows in Safe Mode (Tried this, computer just reset itself and went back to this menu)
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Commands or something like that
both of these options did the same thing
Start Windows Normally (When I tried that it would look like Windows was starting up, it would freeze, flash a blue screen error too quickly to read, and restart itself)
Not sure what this all means, we might take it in to our computer guy for repairs. Or it all might fix itself, which has happened before. So yeah.

Yeah, that's not a restore
Dufe — Sat, 04/12/2008 - 08:55Yeah, that's not a restore CD. Pretty much any Windows XP OEM version CD you can get should do fine, that way you should be able to still use the cd-key that SHOULD be on a sticker on the side/back of the case. Ask around for a CD.
Found an unopened Windows XP
mav — Sat, 04/12/2008 - 08:53Found an unopened Windows XP box in my desk >_>. Ran the disk, ran repairs, and it's fixed =). Thank you all so much! Just saved me a lot of money...

My dad bought this computer
mav — Sat, 04/12/2008 - 08:18My dad bought this computer off "Ibuypower.com" It's an ASUS or something like that. I did find a CD in a bag of spare parts. It didnt say restore on it though, I got the feeling it was used for setting up the motherboard or something like that. It's labeled "P5NSLI/P5ND2 Series NVIDIA C19 Chipset Support CD Rev.164.04"

So I looked around the home
mav — Sat, 04/12/2008 - 08:02So I looked around the home office, and I can't find an XP Installation CD. Is there any way to like... use a computer with Windows XP on it and burn what I need on to a floppy or something?

If you don't want to bother
Dufe — Fri, 04/11/2008 - 20:58If you don't want to bother troubleshooting, the fastest way to get this worked out (assuming you're on XP) is to start up your computer from the windows XP cd, pick install windows when first asked (not repair/recover). Tell it to install to the existing windows drive/partition. It should then say, "Hey, I found windows on this drive, do you want me to repair it instead?" Say yes, let it go. You may have to re-install a few apps/drivers and definitely run windows update 2-3 times.
