Pumping Brutallus!
Cisper — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 00:23
I know you guys have had some REALLY clutch Brutallus attempts, so from what I've read, seen and heard, hope any of this can help with pushing it over the edge.
Taken from: http://wowwebstats.com/n11dghenaizn5?s=5014-5259 (5.3 Million Attempt, 13%~).
DPS Wise, a lot of consumables need to be used (You can see from the Restore Mana, different classes opting for Mana Potions vs. Spell Damage Potion, which in the long run can help obviously for longlasting DPS).
Heals on tanks should only be hots from Druids, no Renews. Need to use the Greater Heal/Holy Light like mad. I know conventially you can have 3 Priests/Paladins non-stop spamming Max Rank GH/HL on the tank (Swapping as needed), and give them a Spriest. Along with hots, should be enough, pending on gear + Survivability, may need a 4th. Should leave 4 healers, 1 for each side for the meteor, 2 for burns.
This'll require spamming Mana Pots (on Cooldown), but spamming those heals 95% of the time keeps the tanks up, obviously sometimes they dip (eating a stun usually), setting up a Nature Swiftness Rotation from the Druids/Shamans can help fill in the gap.
For grouping stack, using a Retadin like Hbk can definetly help with the blessings and the bonus damage for the melee, as is the obvious Windfury. An elemental Shaman does wonders for a Warlock/Mage group, but obviously in short supply on Gorgonnash. Having the fuzzy bearz Mnor & Nuit can mean the extra 5% crit for the melee, aswell the heals. Might be worth having Mnor+Orky tank so that you can have a feral with melee - make the Two tanks are in a Holy Paladin + Resto Druid group for the mitigation, Imp shouldn't be necessary, nor Shaman (Stam bonus/Agi).
Make sure you have Resto Shamans + Casters & Healers, between Nhia & Jorence (no more Cali :*(), you can have Two Solid Healer Groups (Tank Group, Tank+Tank+RestoDruid+Paladin+?) and then the other 6 healers ( 2 shamans ) make two 3 member groups, which you can fit in a Spriest each, and a mage each. This shafts Warlocks, hoping to get them in with a BM Hunter, preferabbly a Shaman, but you can only make do.
At a 9% attempt, its clear that synchronisation is solid with heals, knowing where to and the rotation between tanks. It's now a matter of burning cash and making sure everything is clicked well (Like Shihli's ZA Run) everyone is directly benefitted somehow. Burn the cash on those Pots, fully oiled, fed and flasked and pop Heroism, Spell Damage & Mana Potions continuously and win! T6 Belts and a massive relief over a shit and spontaneous boss.
All the best!
~ Jas

It looks like the best
Nuitarin — Wed, 07/23/2008 - 01:40It looks like the best consumables for me to use while tanking brutallus is [Bloodberry Elixir] and [Elixir of Major Fortitude]. This combo looks better than [Flask of Chromatic Resistance] or [Flask of Fortification].
The bloodberry only works in
Nuitarin — Wed, 07/23/2008 - 01:12The bloodberry only works in Sunwell or on the on the island (I think). It is a new consumable obtained from the daily quest "Open for Business" obtained from the innkeeper on IQD.
Why have I never heard of
jaibyrd — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 23:19Why have I never heard of Bloodberry elixir before? I gotta look this one up sounds like alot of you use it. I like the fish sticks + Dranic wisedom + brill mana oil combo myself and I use a Healing elixir.
Yes, I like to heal. No, I've never been shadow.
Honestly, if you're bringing
Cisper — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 22:41Honestly, if you're bringing a Moonkin to raid, pop him in a group with the Holy Paladins and a Spriest, get them to Solo heal the tanks with Max rank Holy Light. Well, I'd think that'd be beneficial.
Also, no e-mail yet from Blizzard (it's been one week..!), but hopefully will get is back asep..with all my characters gear please.
Also, as for consumables, for Priests Druids: BloodBerry Elixir + Draenic Wisdoms + Brilliant Mana Oil + Golden Fish Sticks + Spirit Scrolls = sexx
Ah we weren't actually
Disrupter — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 23:02Ah we weren't actually bringing 'Rupta for anything more then insect swarm the other night, someone had suggested it to "see enrage" and then work on dps. So I obliged. Had fun doing it too :P.
Tonight threat seemed alot better, I tried to work out a rotation to get the most out of my invis for a while now, and, tonight, I just plain didn't need to invs. Go go feral tank threat gen? :D
If gear is the issue, it
Sorahn — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 18:35If gear is the issue, it seems like it wouldn't take took long to bump the moonkin gear up a bit. Why not have Rupta do some BT runs to start gearing up? Rupter certainly doesn't need anything (?) except from Illidan anyway. If a priest can get 4 T6 in one night, why not a boomkin. :)
At a minimum, having the option of a boomkin seems like a good thing. More options == more flexibility. So, if we're calling dibbs on a boomkin buff, DIBBS!
I'll address 1) by saying
saedo — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 17:43I'll address 1) by saying he's not ready, yet. But the potential is there if we want to allow it to grow.
---------------------------------------------
That addresses one person's
Shihli — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 17:24That addresses one person's view on the 3rd question. No one's addressed whether Rupta's gear is actually SWP-ready, much less if he's willing to completely forgo his mage for his boomkin.
I like boomchickens, and
Epatrick — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 17:10I like boomchickens, and rupter's main was actually rupta I think when we recruited him, but we had druids coming out of our ears. if rupter is on his chicken he won't be fighting the warlocks fortop dps...he'll be as precious as an ele shammy and all the casters will whine to have him. Speaking of which, can I have an elemental shaman? and a pony? possibly a large little ceasar's pizza and a case of mountain dew? sweet.
This is a good of place as
Agoney — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 16:14This is a good of place as any, so I'd like to apologize to all of hamfist yesterday for not giving it my all. I had a disagreement and decided to act like a 5 year old and it got the best of me. I'll bring my A game from here on out. If you have any questions/hate/love, PM me. If your not sure of what I'm referring to, take a look at my place on the parses and that should it explain part of it. Once again, I'm sorry.
My only questions regarding
Shihli — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 16:07My only questions regarding Disrupta vs. Disrupter:
1) Do you truly believe that Disrupta's gear is strong enough for him to be in SWP?
2) Do you really want to bench Disrupter?
3) What does the rest of the raid say regarding main-toon-swapping this late in the raiding game?
kati for priest and druids i
Sorreah — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 13:47kati for priest and druids i was finding the fishsticks and the brilliant mana oil to be the best regen combo, at most i was losing 1mp5 with fishsticks instead of sporefish and gaining the + heal
and while the resto flask is nice i got a lot more out of bloodberry and drenaeic wisdom
the 2 were giving me the same regen as the flask with a boost to all other stats as well
WTB spirit usage for
garreth — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 13:55WTB spirit usage for paladins..
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just an FYI, being on rupter
Disrupter — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 16:01Just an FYI, being on rupter won't bring 600 more dps, it'll be more dps, but not quite that much... Remember, going to lose the crit buff for the casters, and the hit buff for the physical dps.
Need to figure out how much of a buff that Fairie fire is, would like to know ><;
I'm bringing: 2 x Mighty
garreth — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 13:10I'm bringing:
2 x Mighty Resto Flasks
5 x Brilliant Mana Oil
40 x Blackened Sporefish
40 x Mana Pots
That's enough for a full night on kalec/brut. Let's kill this fucker.

I'm at work, so I can't
Katibug — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 12:59I'm at work, so I can't really do the research that I'd like to do...but I had a question for the healers:
What do you find as being the optimal elixir/flask/food/etc combination for mana conservation/regen and healing power?
At the moment I have
Shihli — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 12:58At the moment I have purchased enough crap so I will have the following:
- 20x Major Agility Elixir
- 20x Major Mageblood Elixir
- Righteous weapon oil
- Superior mana oil
- 8x Agility scrolls
- 35x agility food
- 8x Relentless Assault flasks
I still need to buy some mana pots.
At any rate I should be able to spread the love tonite if someone is too lazy to get their own crap.
I decided to go back to
Karli — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 12:53I decided to go back to arcane as I was finding I wasn't quite putting out the numbers with fire that I normally see with arcane and because threat was an issue (although I think that has improved). As the night wore on, I realized that stacking mana regen was key to my personal dps. The more I prioritized regen gear/buffs/consumables the better I was able to do.
Not sure how many people are going to be in a similar position, but I definitely feel like things clicked with me as far as to how I can plan to maximize my dps on this fight. Here are some of the things I used that helped me:
I used to go heavy regen back in the early Vashj/Kael days, so as we learn Brut and my gear is not *quite* where it could be, mana regen seems to be where it's at for me.
Using these items I was able to consistently break 2K dps. And you'll probably notice that I tend to not have a 100% presence on the attempts because once I see Mnor and Nuit die, I go invis to stay alive
. I know I died at least once or twice but WWS is reporting zero deaths...either way, I was getting pretty damn good at living because I couldn't afford my repair bill....whee!
Any word on your account
Shihli — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 11:12Any word on your account restoration and potential move back to Gorg, Jas?

this is the 11% attempt where we had basically half the healers get burn and still pulled him to enrage with a good number being posted
healers did a great job continuing their jobs while on fire great work guys
gj guys u can do it Chain
Atakheal — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 07:17gj guys u can do it
Chain Heal FTW
This was one of our last
garreth — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 00:59This was one of our last shots a full 6 minutes and 23 seconds: http://wowwebstats.com/t15yrz3js1wes?s=13849-14232
25, 474 dps. If we don't give up the survivability of our tanks, that's simply consumables, Enixa going main spec and Rupter coming on Rupter.
That's IF our tanks don't explode due to not having Insect Swarm + Shadow Embrace. If we can give both up, we're at a kill.
Let's kill him Tuesday, plx.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You're looking at last
saedo — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 00:51You're looking at last week's which is about the 53% one.
Anyways, we've tried Orky. Didn't work out too well, more insta gibs, so decided to go with the 2 ferals. We stacked more for the tanks. Give em as much survivability as possible just to see that enrage.
Got to it 4 times, and 3 in a row at the end too.
So, time to ease off the tanks and healers and focus on the dps.
2303 raid dps short. Go go pump out another 153.53 DPS from everyone!

25,474 DPS. 9.6 Million
Desteran — Tue, 07/22/2008 - 00:4725,474 DPS. 9.6 Million dmg.
Grats guys! Youre getting there. Sqeak out everything you can and he'll drop. GL!
