Simple Focus casting macro.

/cast [nomodifier: shift, target=target] Water Walking;
/cast [modifier: shift, target=focus] Water Walking
This macro casts water walking on your target with no modifier, or you can hold shift and hit the macro to cast Water Walking on your Focus target. This example isn't all that useful, except as an example. A good use of this macro is for swapping CC targets, like you might have to do in the Faction Champions fight. Substitute fear or sheep for Water Walking and you'll never have to type the names of the mobs in ever again.

The problem I have with this
Dragon — Wed, 09/02/2009 - 06:05The problem I have with this setup is that in reality you will probably be sheeping 2 different targets and throwing on some dps on the actual kill target. So I will go ahead and repost the macros from last night.
/cast [nomodifier, target=<target name here>] <cc spell here>
/cast [modifier:shift, target=<second targets name here>] <cc spell here>
Yea, the purpose of putting
Prime8 — Wed, 09/02/2009 - 14:16Yea, the purpose of putting up all the player target windows is so we can get unit frames up for each of the mobs in that fight. If a CC'er drops target, it defeats the purpuse. Keeping static targets up makes it easier to pick out targets faster for everyone else who may need to get a stun, interupt, or emergency CC on a target other than their main targets.
I get your point, Dragon.
Scaron — Wed, 09/02/2009 - 07:10I get your point, Dragon. However, I think part of what's going on w/ Prime's macro is that we're trying to keep track of who needs help on which targets. If we don't need to switch targets all the time (as CCers) and a CCer goes down and they were up on MT windows, it's easy to tell who needs to be CC'ed--or who will need to be CC'ed in the near future. If we're actually switching targets all the time, it's difficult for a CCer who is helping out w/ a fallen comrade's CC target who exactly they're supposed to be CCing.
If we don't switch targets all the time, this task is somewhat less daunting--it doesn't totally solve the problem for the stand-in CC'er, but it moves them in the right direction. In FC, though, I think you're right after a certain point, CC isn't all that important (after the first few healers are down and maybe the warlock). However, if there's also a main kill target on MT windows to focus down it's easy to switch and follow.
both these macro's have good
Kwondre — Wed, 09/02/2009 - 06:23both these macro's have good purposes...
I agree with Dragon's macro for CC's....however Prime's macro could be valuable for ranged interrupters to interrupt a healer or caster that cannot be CC'ed for a moment.
