Those of us who’ve laid there for hours on end, watching a suspected insurgent ORP, or gathering intel on that homicide suspect before the knuckle-draggers go serve the warrant, understand that adult diapers aren’t the best answer to the body’s biological imperatives (particularly with regards to matters scatological). The same thing is true (and possibly even more serious, just ask them) for those poor bastards trying to make it through a heroic run of Utgard Keep in one night, or attempting to finish Dire Maul while suffering gastrointestinal distress. Well, the Japanese have created something that will not only eliminate those troubles, it’ll let you leave the atmosphere without shitting yourself. This space diaper is designed to use powerful suction to gather up all the nastiness created when nature calls. Sensors strategically placed around your ass and crotch let the diaper know when to activate, and it will even dry and clean up its wearer after the fact. JAXA, Japan’s equivalent to our NASA, wants to have the space diaper finished and ready for deployment within the next five years. That’s conceivably in time for the guys slated for deployment in OEF XXIV or so…The Mad Duo

Crashed Hard Drives suck
coretwo — Wed, 01/21/2009 - 14:48
So, a week ago today i got a call from my fiance while I was at work. She had tried to turn my computer on and like every other electronic thing she touches it said no. I got home and preceded to spend the next 6 hours with my roommate(also a tech weenie) trying to recover any data that could be salvaged. At that point I gave up hope on getting info off and tryed to do a new install. It was then that we discovered that there were too many bad sectors on the hardrive to format it much less install II, wine, and wow. So I RMAed it back to segate due to the holiday they only recieved it today and began processing it. I had went ahead and bought a new hard drive (western digital caviar black) and that arrived today. Between the start of school this week and work I may not get a chance to get wow installed and up to date till this weekend. Just thought i would up date you all on the situation.
for those who are curious of such things I believe the error was something to the effect of " one of your partitions crosses the 1024 threshhold

A little Linux help...
Delirium — Fri, 01/16/2009 - 19:40
I decided to post something a little more useful than my previous forum posts or blog entries. I recently decided to jump over to Linux and so far I'm loving it.
There have been quite a few times however that I just sat at my computer screen looking at the monitor trying to figure out what to do and do it withoutscrewing anything up. I've found a few links I'd like to share to help anyone else who might be as new to this as I am. Now, some of this might not apply to a lot of you since I'm running an AMD/ATI system with Linux....which apparently isn't the easiest thing to tackle.
Where I decided to start learning was the terminal, this guide helped me quite a bit:
http://linux.org.mt/article/terminal
It shows the basics of the terminal and goes into some commands (not all of them).

With my system, I had an unusual/rare graphics issue. My minimap was causing graphics flickering, I had to X out of my minimap immediately on load in or I'd have to exit game completely and try again. I eventually found a mod called "MoveAnything!" to turn off my minimap completely, which was really weird for me at first but I'm getting used to it. I haven't had a problem since!

This is a work in progress, as I find useful links that would apply to most Linux users, I plan on posting them here to help others. If anyone else has a neat guide or whatever to share, please comment. I have yet to scratch the surface I'm sure and would appreciate it greatly. Hopefully this will take out some of the tedious searching I've already done.
Hello from Karli, Ky, and the Kid!

Hi guys,
Totally missing wow right now. Not that I could actually play it to any real enjoyment, but I do miss all of you! It feels weird to be out of touch with the gameplay as well as just knowing what is new with all of you guildies.
Here are some new pics of kiddo. He's a handful but absolutely wonderful and worth all the hard work. I go back to work part time in February and then full time in March, and that's when the real challenge will begin I think. Still completely sleep deprived and in sort of a baby-induced twilight zone, but enjoying it while it lasts.
Miss you all lots and hope you're kicking ass on Gorg!
Oh, and in case anyone was wondering, right now Colin is almost 10 weeks old, and most of these pics were taken around Christmas and New Years.
