Thanks for all the commets; I have many things to consider, now. I really like getting advice and information from more people than just myself. Opinions around my house tend to be very skewed. Growing up in a non-metropolitian town in Florida, which is part of the Bible belt, everyone around me tends to have a very narrow view of how events in life are percieved. The lack of diverse opinions in my house has hindered me from asking questions that I probably should (Combine that with a non-confrontational personality and you have the perfect mix of ignorance. )
I still remeber the day when i quasi-hinted to my Mom that I liked girls. While I did not admit to my new found preference, her response to my question had a tone which she only used when I was in deep doo-doo. I remeber the exact intersection, the weather, and the season when I asked the question because of the tone of her voice. At the time, I struggle to understand why she answered my questoin with such a harsh tone. Why had my question made my Mom so angry. I concluded that day that not questions should be asked of my parents nor should all concerns be voiced to them.
Reinforcing my conclusion:
Another time in high school, I was doing a report on the Salem witch trials, and my parents confronted me about the subjects appearing in the web browser. Any topics concerning witchcraft and the practicing of witchcraft were strictly forbidden within my house. Interesting that in college, when I finally had my choice and stopped caring what others thought, I chose to graduate with an Anthropology degree and not a Journalism degree. All the various religions i studied, as defined by the Soutern Bapitist--for better or for worse--would be consider witchcraft. I guess maybe I have always been living in a house where I did not identify with the opinions of my parents, but it was a new feeling last week when i began to feel this way about my country, aswell.
Course years later after my parents realized the creepy factor to our Southern Baptist Church, their opinions on what television shows and books I was allowed to read relaxed. Moving back home after college to attend radiology school in my hometown, has been one of the hardest emotional struggles I have ever had to face. While I love my parents dearly, I fear and lement only being able to periceve one perspective. Fox news and all associated programs blare all day long in my house. Sometimes after hearing the same opinion over and over again, you loose the ability to reason our out others.
Since 135 people or so took a glance at this blog, I am guess that I am not the only person that is concerned.
Yep, I know i am probably late to the party, G. But i have always been notrious for loosing track of time. I actually cried on 20th birthday because I felt that I had not accomplished enough in life.
Does anyonelse remeber the first time they stopped asking their parents questions? Just curious.

I quit because they're nerfing Illumination
garreth — Thu, 06/18/2009 - 12:16
Hahaha, no not really :P But it got you to read this post didn't it?
Actually, I'm actually quite happy at the upcoming Illumination "nerf" because of the other healing mechanic changes involved. Check it out: http://www.worldofraids.com/news/679.html
A quick summary of 3.2 Paladin changes:
- Beacon now works on overhealing. If I overheal someone 100%, all that potential healing goes to my Beacon target. Yes! This is something Holy pallies have been asking about sine the release of Wrath. This allows me to heal a raid AND keep a tank up. Also, multiple Beacons may be allowed on a singl target, meaning multiple Paladins can heal a raid WHILE keeping the tank up.
- Flash of Light now HoTs a target who has our Sacred Shield. Woot! More, free healing and I get a legitimate HoT!
- Illumination nerf. We all knew this was coming ;) And, no, I'm not going to flip out about this. I think this provides an excellent opportunity for us to really have to put skill into who/when we heal. No more "LOLHOLYLIGHT" for 10 straight minutes.
- MP5 buff. The hallowed "mp5 buff" looks like its really just "put more mp5 on gear". MP5 is great in massive amounts, of course, but right now all the gear we're passing up becaues of MP5 has much too little of it. If that amount DOUBLED the pieces would be amazing. Here's to hoping they double it ;)
To summarize: I'm really excited. If they dropped Illumination down to only 40-50% I'd still be poop-my-pants excited. Holy Pallies: This is incredible opportunity for us to step up as healers, but requires a tremendous amount more work and decision making skills. Can our pallies handle that?
